Can’t read from a distance
I just received two brass name plates. Super disappointed. The etching is so light. You can hardly see it from 6 ft away from the stall. The plate itself is of nice quality but the engraving is terrible. I even chose to only use their registered names in bold in order to be able to see them best. The price was fine. What I was expecting vs. what I got is not.

Seems engraver dependent
I ordered a nameplate with my horse's name, my name, his breed logo, and my contact info for shows. The first plate arrived, and the logo was oddly distorted/elongated. I figured that was just a "caveat emptor" thing until I realized that my name was also misspelled (I double-checked my personalization instructions, and the spelling was correct there--not to mention my name was on the order form.
I contacted SmartPak about the misspelling, and they of course replaced it at no charge with their apologies. Interestingly, the second plate has an undistorted breed logo which of course looks much better.
So the first plate was a dud, but the second plate I'm happy with. I'm wondering if this is engraver dependent (more attention to detail with my name spelling and a properly scaled breed logo the second time vs. just stretching the logo to fit).

Can't even see the engraving - was done so lightly
I bought the Nickel Silver with Victoria Font - It's so light it looks blank on the stall. Need a flash light to see it. Also, I don't think it's even true engraving - feels like laser printed. Was going to darken the letters with shoe polish or black marker but there is no impression into the metal. I'm going to flip it over and have a REAL engraver do it the right way. the piece of metal is very nice. Shame that a preview of my order wasn't available - would never have ordered this - such a waste.

Nice quality but can barely read the font
I recently purchased a stall name plate to match what our new boarding barn prefers and got a simple plate using the script font and while lovely, the font is only an outline and not filled in so you can barely read it and it looks odd. I'm going to try and use a black sharpie to fill in the lettering for now but I'm a little disappointed in the end result. The brass is high quality and I expect it to last a while, just wish the font was easier to read.

Love it!
The engraving is very clear (I used the Roman font)! I love this product. I only wish it came with longer screws so you can attach the plate and wooden backing to the stall with one set of screws. Other than that, I love it!

Great Nameplate!
I bought this nameplate for my girl because she is moving barns and will have a stall of her own. The material is lovely and the engraving is very nice. I did a three line engraving, so the lettering is a bit small - but if you choose the one or two line option, you'll get much larger lettering. My only complaint is I wish that they engraving was a little bit darker, or more solid. I chose the script option and it is beautiful, but you cannot read it from more than a few feet away. Other than that, beautiful plate! Hope it holds up well!

horrible quality
First, it's completely weird this comes without any screws/rivets/hooks etc. Never had a stall plate come this way. So I went to the hardware store (upon smart paks advice I was on my own) got two brass screws and asked a guy at the barn to help me. He did a good job. Within two weeks the letters starting blurring into each other. This is an inside stall. Really poor quality-buy somewhere else!

Nickel isn’t nearly as nice as brass
I hate them. A lot. I had brass plates made a year back and loved those. The nickel is just terrible. It’s not a true “silver” as it has a brass tone to it. It’s also extremely thin and gives the impression of low quality. I wouldn’t be surprised if you could snap them in half. The brass was much better but has been out of stock when I try to order. Quite disappointed. If you can hold off, or get it from somewhere else I would recommend the brass. Steer clear of the nickel.

Beautiful, but rusted quickly
When I received my nameplate I was so excited. The engraving is perfect and I love the wood. However, after getting it in March, it didn't make it through the summer in New York without rusting all around the engraving. Pretty disappointed.

IT'S OK

I absolutely love this stall name plate!
I had bought a previous stall plate from somewhere else and when I got it I couldn't read the script. I never used it. But with this one it was clearly easy to see. The S was an S etc. It's the perfect size and colors. It was just what I wanted!
