Not recommended
I purchased two feeders. They came without any padding or shrink wrap. They were dent, scratched and covered in paint transferred from something else on the truck. They are shoddy construction with a rim around the top that traps water when you try to clean them. They are very lightweight and easy for a horse to turn over. They are overpriced pieces of junk.

Effective Depending on Setup
Barn I worked in had these for all the stalled horses. Overall, I was pretty meh on them.
They work really well at preventing hay waste, but they aren't great for all horses. The young horses (under 3) hated putting their heads inside so we just had to feed them on the floor. Additionally, unless the horse eats every last bit of hay, the feeder gets full of old hay that has to be cleaned out. You can pull it out by hand but that does nothing to get any dirt/dust/particulate matter out, which is also not good for the horses' respiratory system. The entire feeder has to be dumped over, which is a PAIN. It isn't super heavy but it is unwieldy.
Most of the horses left theirs alone other than to eat, but be aware that particularly playful ones may just knock them over and drag the hay out. We had a few who just dumped the entire thing over every day.

Dislike these feeders
These feeders are difficult to clean, and if you don’t you will get a build up of hay in the bottom that can cause respiratory issues, as it did with one of my horses. Great idea, but they need to change the design so somehow you can easily clean out the bottom. They are also a bit clostrophobic as their head is down in an enclosed space.

Works as described, but Is a health hazard
My barn owners put these feeders in, and within three weeks, my horses were wheezing and coughing. There is no ventilation, so the dust just builds up causing respiratory issues. Not to mention the amount of rocks that pile up in the bottom.

No more wasted hay!
This is an expensive buy but so worth it. My horses used to waste so much hay before this. Now I can stuff it full and the hay stays fresh! These feeders will last a long time and will save me money in the long run...
