Works great!
I washed 4 blankets, individually, and they all came out fresh and clean. Even that super nasty strap under the tail of my Rambo was clean!

Works well
Used in a front load washing machine for a few turnout blankets. Was able to wash about 4-5 turnouts (sheets, 100g, mediums) with the bottle. They all came out very clean and I like that it has an antibacterial in it as well

Nice scent!
I like the clean scent this wash has, I tried it out on my barn clothes, and it cleans them well.

WOW! Amazing results on SO many things!!
I am amazed. I received this wash a Christmas gift and have had such fantastic results, I felt like I NEEDED to review it! First let me say, I totally understand that this product is NOT a stain fighter, and lacks the harsh detergents or chemicals. But I also looked to make sure, and this product really does comply with what the care label of my blankets say! (Mild soap, no detergents, no bleaches...). So I didn't know what to expect when I washed my blankets in a laundromat sized washer, but they came out FANTASTIC!! I washed 2 medium weights at a time and used only 6oz.
Yes, some stains that have been there for years were still there, but I didn't expect them to disappear (however, it is a horse blanket...what do you expect is going to happen to a horse blanket anyways?!) They looked like new! They were shiny, they were clean, they came out smelling fresh, and didn't have a strong or lasting scent from the wash (which was great for me, since I am allergic to fragrances and perfumes). Well, I decided it worked so great on my horse blankets, so I then washed my saddle pads in it too...same WOW results! I hung on the fence to dry, and it was as easy as that!
But that wasn't it...I then went on to wash my dog beds, well all I can say is whether it was because of this wash or just by chance, but my horse show dogs aren't itching and scratching half as much! The vet said previously it wasn't fleas, but skin allergies...never knew to what! And those dogs beds, pristine! After seeing what it did for my dog beds, I wanted to see what it would do for the back seat of my truck, where my horse show dogs left their muddy prints. I poured a little, not sure how much, into a small spot cleaner with water, and sure enough this Smart Wash amazed me, again! After explaining all that, I absolutely recommend this wash to any horse owner, farm owner, animal owner! So many uses, I don't know how SmartPak managed to pack such a punch in one bottle, but I will be purchasing for myself when I run out!!

WOW!!! MY BLANKETS HAVE NEVER BEEN THIS CLEAN!
I’m shocked at how well the Smartpak Blanket Wash works. I have used several other brands in the past (NIKWAX, etc) and nothing has EVER gotten my blankets this clean. ABSOLUTELY NO BAD SMELLS left in my blankets. UNBELIEVEABLE. I threw all my other products away and will only use this going forward. Washed my blankets in a commercial washer with the Smartpak Blanket Wash. Hung them to dry. They look and smell brand spanking new...

The only stuff to wash blankets with!!
A few years ago I started washing and repairing my own blankets. The first time, I got some regular laundry detergent meant for people clothes and went to a laundromat to wash the blankets and sheets of 3 horses. They came out of the washer still dirty in some places and still smelled pretty bad.
The next year, I bought (a different brand than smartpak) blanket soap, and the difference was night and day. They came out fresh and clean and not a spot of dirt!! Same washers at the same laundromat!!
This year I bought the smartpak blanket soap, and used it to wash 10 blankets and sheets in 5 giant washer loads at the same laundromat. I used the whole bottle, but they all came out fresh and clean without any mud, dirt or hair stuck to them!! I watched the rinse water come off these blankets and it was nasty, lol.
This blanket wash also says to wash in cold water, which is always good and convenient. I used the “extra wash” and “extra rinse” choices on the laundromat washing machines.
The blankets all came out very clean and didn’t smell at all, which is a small miracle. They were really gross before starting.
One small negative is the directions say either ounces or milliliters to measure how much soap you're supposed to use. I didn’t have a cup or any idea how much the right amount was, so I just poured in what I guessed was right. It would be great if the sticker just said half cup or cup, something like that. I can eyeball those measurements.
I want to add that these 3 horses live outside and have open run in stalls. Their blankets get trashed over the winter here in NJ.
This blanket soap is the best stuff to wash horse blankets. It works great on saddlepads as well, and releases all the grime, sweat, hair and mud off them. I will be using this again next year!!! It is a little expensive, but if you think of how much we spend on horse blankets and how little we wash them (once a year, usually), the cost of getting the right suds for the job is worth it!!

Might be ok for mid-season
I wasn't impressed with the dirt-fighting aspect of this - all my blankets still had stains after the wash. They come out much cleaner with regular detergent. I can't speak to whether it preserves waterproofness, as I was planning to re-waterproof everything anyway. It's great that it is supposed to kill germs, but how do you know if that actually happens?
Anyway, I would skip this product for the end-of-season deep clean, but it might be good for getting the worst of the dirt off mid-season (without having to re-waterproof).
Also, seems pretty expensive considering it is mostly water. The ingredients are water and less that 5% of various chemicals. And if you use the recommended amount, you only get 5 washes. It is very thin and didn't stay in the detergent dispenser like it is supposed to, and didn't really produce any bubbles at all. Maybe it didn't work because it drained right out of the machine... I think Smartpak needs to come up with a thicker, more concentrated formula.

Works great!
I used this wash to hand-wash my blankets. The gunk melted right off with minimal work on my part. I'm very happy!

Works fantastic!
I washed my two heavyweights in a large commercial washing machine with 8oz of this product and they came out as clean as the day I bought them. Very pleased; while they were still damp I applied the reproofer spray on all over. I plan to do this at least yearly or more often through the season if needed.
