ThermoBalance® material on the underside of the pad has ceramic particles that reflect body heat back as soothing far infrared rays, making it ideal for cold-backed or hard-working horses. These rays penetrate beneath the skin to activate blood flow, which may help decrease inflammation. The exterior mesh layer not only provides ventilation, but style, too. Hints of metallic thread in the top layer’s quilted fabric give the pad a luxe look. Designed with a curving anatomical shape, the pad mimics your horse’s topline to sit comfortably under your saddle.

Instructions for Use:

Washing Instructions:
• Machine wash in cold to warm water
• Use mild detergent
• Hang to dry
• Do not use bleach or fabric softener
• Do not put in dryer

Instructions for first use:
• Because different horses take different lengths of time to get used to ceramic technology, introduce your horse to SmartTherapy™ ThermoBalance™ slowly
• Start with 1 to 3 hours per day for the first few days and observe your horse’s response
• After 4 or 5 days, if your horse seems acclimated, you may gradually increase the number of hours the product is worn each day if desired
• If your horse is accustomed to wearing gear unsupervised and it will be safe for them to do so, consider having your horse wear the product overnight to maximize SmartTherapy’s benefits

I’m a firm believer in back on track products so I thought I’d try the smartpak version and I wasn’t disappointed. No more parking out and she seems to warm up nicer in it as well. I don’t notice a difference between this pad and my BOT pad so it works great. My only complaint is that there aren’t enough colors!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Joey from Good but wish it came in a close contact cut I bought this in both the dressage cut and the AP one. My horse seems to like the dressage one and licks and chews while I'm tacking up. However, the AP cut in my opinion is definitely a true AP and is cut for a fairly straight flap, so I needed to return it. I also did not realize that there is a mesh overlay on the top layer of the saddle pad, which looks fine but since I have a dark colored horse I anticipate it to be a bit tricky to keep clean with getting dark hairs in it.

The spine is soft which is really great for my horse, he's a picky OTTB when it comes to saddle pads! It's held up to me using it 2-4x a week and still looks new :)

I use this pad for schooling each day and I notice my horse's back is always warm, but not too hot! This pad is also stylish and features contrast trim. I recommend this pad to all of my friends who have horses with stiff backs or for horses that work hard!

My complaint is that the mesh fabric on the saddle side of the pad traps hair, winter coat or summer coat. Not a vacuum or scrub will help.
