Great turnout, true to its guarantee!
I bought the Ultimate Turnout sheet 6 years ago. It held up well but I noticed that a tear had developed on the seam. I called Smartpak and they verified that it would be covered under their warranty. I had to wait till they were back in stock but now have a brand new turnout. Really impressed with this level of service, I highly recommend!

Great fit and durable!
I ordered both the medium and heavy weight Ultimate turnout blanket for my 16 hh OTTB and the 78 fits him perfectly! He is turned out in a rambunctious here of geldings so I knew that the 10 year warranty was the best deal on the market. Loving how durable the blankets are and my boy seems super happy to have all the upgraded features of leg gussets, freedom of movement, and warmth!

Beautiful fit!
Winter arrived early in full force for us in upstate NY. The Ultimate Turnout blanket is everything I hope for. The clips are easy to use and adjust. The body coverage is wonderful. I purchased this blanket while it was being offered on sale. The price really can't be beat in my eyes.

Does not stay waterproof
I'm on I think my 2nd or 3rd of these blankets in the past 4 years, so I'm glad SmartPak stands by their product. However, I just gave up on using this as a rain sheet - it was never truly waterproof - it leaks at the dart-seams in the back. I currently just use it to layer over my other turnouts to use the neck-cover attachment (my other turnouts are old and don't have neck covers). If it ever rains, this blanket soaks through to the other blanket, which fortunately is still waterproof. I would not buy these turnout sheets again, and will be searching for a different turnout/neck cover combo.

Fits nice
I bought this for a warmblood. While it is a bit short on the sides, what bothers me the most is that the nylon sewing seem has already started to come apart. Quite large in fact and in two places on the seem. I hand sewed it back together. Other than yhst, very nice.

Amazing! As usual
Just bought this blanket for my pony after his neighbor ripped through his other one. Not only is the black stunning on his gray coat, but the durability of the fabric, especially in comparison to the blanket I will be returning is fantastic. It is strong on the outside and the liner is still soft enough to avoid rubs. Customer service was amazing (Thank you, Emma!) and I was able to receive credit on my return easily.

As Indestructible as a blanket can get!
This blanket is incredible. My Thoroughbred gets turned out with a group of geldings and I expected him to walk back in with a shredded blanket. He has now had this blanket for two winters and there is not even a single snag in the blanket. Buy it, its worth every penny! It also has never rubbed his withers or shoulders and stays super clean!

Very happy with SmartPak Ultimate Blankets
Our horse shreds everything, but so far the Smartpak Ultimate has held up very well. We have an Ultimate Fly Sheet for our mild rainy winter days and mild nights and the Medium blanket for when it goes into the 30's at night (our horse is not clipped.) Our horse actually likes his turnout sheet (that also keeps him warm during mildly cold nights) and he doesn't walk away while we try to put it on. It must be comfortable because he is sensitive and if something bothers him he will tear it to shreds and then tell us he doens't like it by walking around in circles while we try to put it on. We replaced another blanket with this one, with the furry neck and gusstted rear, and he stands perfectly still!!

Fits like a glove, but failed waterproofing
I bought this sheet last year (2017). My horse lives in a stall paddock and this sheet works well for him. While the hardware is bit rusty, the big problem was the sheet lost its waterproofing by the end of rainy season last year. We live in the SF bay area in CA - not a lot of rain falls here. Really disappointing to discover my horse is wet during the first storm of this year.

Well made blanket so far
I bought this turn out blanket because I know the SmartPak blankets fit my horse well and am hoping this one actually holds up. Last one was not the ultimate and it ripped along the seam above the surcingle. Wish I had gotten a different color (got black because it was available), but so far, very pleased with the blanket.

I bought this sheet directly from the SmartPak Natick store in November of 2014, so this year is the start of its 5th season. The sheet is typically used from mid October to end of November and again from late March through April. My horse is turned out alone and only for about 2 hours per day, so sheet is not subjected to a lot of abuse. When I purchased the sheet from the “returns” section of the store, it was in perfect, unused condition and only returned because original purchaser stated it was the wrong size for their horse. This past week, the piping near the tail section of the sheet has ripped and the piping is progressively peeling away from the sheet. Because this sheet was sold from the "returns" section of the Natick store the guarantee is not honored. Regardless, I am disappointed that (1) the piping ripped and (2) that there are no “stop-stitches” along the piping to keep it from completely detaching from the sheet in one long string. To be fair, there are no other problems with th esheet. Bucklets, snaps, surcingles are all intact and functioning as expected; no rips in actualy sheet...just the piping ripped.

Lost waterproofing after one season
I bought this last fall for my new mare. It fit great and I was happy with it until I brought it out again this season and she was soaking wet in the first rainstorm we had. I'd only used the sheet for about a month in the fall and again in the spring, but the waterproofing has already completely failed.

AMAZING blanket
I have a gelding who hates things touching him, and thus detests being blanketed. He grows a good coat and is kinda chunky, so normally I don't mind if he's not blanketed, but every year for about 3 or 4 weeks I do blanket him during the coldest and windiest part of the winter. After going through three blankets in one year because he shredded them trying to get them off, I decided to invest in this blanket and oh man was it worth it. Three winters later and still going strong! Not one rip, tear, fray, broken buckle, misplaced stitch, inch of loose lining, ounce of falling stuffing, stretched out leg or belly band, or half on half off tail cover to be found. This blanket looks brand new. He only tries to rid himself of it for the first day or two he has to wear it, and then he resigns himself to the fact that this blanket is not coming off no matter what he does, and he will begrudgingly accept the fact he is warm and protected for a month. I cannot say enough good things about this blanket. I would order another one, but I don't need to!

Doesn't last, bad customer support
I blanket 8 horses each winter and was excited to find a blanket with a 10-year warranty that was under $300. I loved these blankets at first, but they don't wear well and don't live up to a 10-year warranty, not even close. The material in some of the blankets looked worn out and "rubbed" after only one season (some of the threads in the material looked "caught" and broken). On one blanket, the piping inside the the sewn edges came loose and fell out. Some of the blankets leaked after one or two seasons. Much of the hardware was rusty after one season.
Two days ago, I discovered that two blankets that were draped over a pipe fence, in preparation for putting them on horses, had leaked through, from being out in the rain overnight. These were blankets that looked fine on the outside, with no obvious rubbing. I wouldn't have known they were leaking if I had just put them on the horses first.
The worst part is the difficulty in redeeming the warranty. I thought that I could send photos of the damage, but the woman I spoke with at SmartPak insisted that I send the blankets to them. Do you know what it costs to send several defective blankets through the mail? Not to mention finding a box that would fit them? I threw away the defective blankets from that year.
Unfortunately, I liked the blankets so well at first that I still have quite a few of them that I bought at 20% off (sheets and heavyweight, in several sizes).
If you want a blanket that you expect will only will wear one winter, this is a nice-looking blanket, but the price is a bit high for only one or two seasons.

I have not been able to find a waterproof sheet that fits my 18.2 sport horse until this one! Not only is he very tall, he weighs just under 1 ton! I’m very happy with the quality and fit of this sheet!

Excellent blanket
Love this blanket. I have one for all four horses now. Seems to run slightly large, but fits all the horses well (and all are different breeds and body types). Had the inner lining rip which always happens with my geldings blankets and warranty replacement was simple and easy.

This thing holds up!
My horse is a serial blanket killer (one time he completely detached the lining from the shell of a Rambo turnout, leaving the fill scattered across his pasture). I've purchased at least 10 high-quality turnouts from other brands (Rambo, Rhino) in the 12 years I've had him, and not one lasted more than a single season. I bought the Smartpak Ultimate Turnout for its indestructible guarantee, and it totally delivered! Three years later and it is still going strong and looks great. I've found the only blanket my horse can't destroy!
No issues with rubbing, even on his super high withers. My only regret is all the money I spent on other blankets before buying this one.

Best sheet on the market
We have almost 20 horses outfitted in SmartPak Ultimate gear. Tough, durable and guaranteed waterproof. They fit the horses well- there is nothing else on the market comparable. I have tried them all... Schneiders, Horseware Ireland, etc.

Great quality sheet!
I really love this sheet, very high quality and fit great. I have a large but stocky Appaloosa gelding, and I find that a lot of blankets and sheets are just barely long enough on his barrel, but this sheet was a great length! It also stood up great to his pasture buddies.

Fits almost perfectly! Lightweight & waterproof!
This is the third sheet I ordered from SmartPak to get the right fit for my bulky, longish quarter mare. This sheet fits her better than most although it's still a bit gaping at the neck. I love the burgundy color. Dried mud brushes off easily so it still looks decent after a rolling romp! This sheet also has a ten-year guarantee which may outlive my mare and me! I'm pleased with almost every produce I've purchased from SmartPack. Its customer service is unmatched!
