Better as a dog lead
This is the only product I bought & didn't read the reviews for! I decided to keep it as a lead for my dog and NOT use it for my horse. Way too small and flimsy!

My 35 pound puppy just broke it
I bought this as a lead rope, and when it came I realize there’s no way it would be suitable for that purpose. I kept it around as a dog leash, but just now my puppy broke it. She ran into the street and thank God did not get hit by a car. This product is not safe and should be discontinued.

Dog lead?
If I had read the reviews I could not have bought. Not worth shipping back. My horse could break this in 2 seconds. I might use it asa dog leash or quick neck rope to catch my horse.

Not a lead rope.
These are incredibly thin and short. They are half the width and length of a real lead rope. Calling them lead ropes is generous. They'd *maybe* work as a leash for a small to medium sized dog that doesn't pull. They are very short and the 2 I ordered aren't even the same length. These are for kids leading ponies around. Not somebody with a full-sized horse. Highly disappointed. We can't use these for anyone the horses except for the one that doesn't really even need a halter.

Too short and flimsy
I should have looked at the reviews on this. It’s super short and the rope is thin. The clip doesn’t look anywhere near robust enough to withstand even a little pull from a horse. I’ll keep it around to walk the dog but I won’t be using this on a horse.

Broke the first time we used it
If you want a thin, short lead rope this fits the bill. However, the first time we were leading our 11.2 pony and she tried to reach down and eat grass, the rope came right through the clamp and broke. Maybe as another reviewer stated, it could be a good lead rope if you hammer the clamp down before using it. If I had seen that review first, I wouldn't tried it, but it's too late now :-(. Definitely worth the money if you like short leads and you don't get a bad/loose clamp.

broke first time i used it
i purchased this because i liked the simplicity and the first day i pulled it out to use, it snapped. was pulling my horse's head up and it just snapped. it was an easy fix though, ended up splicing the rope and it holds up well now. if you decide to purchase this i just recommend hammering down on the hardware that keeps the clip on, this will make it more secure.

VERY SHORT
I bought this lead rope because it was cheaper option than the other ones. It is VERY short and the rope is super thin. It is more of a dog leash than a lead rope. Very disapointed and wish I spent the extra couple bucks on a better one.

It'll do
I bought this to replace the leadrope my horse broke. It is very thin, much more than I expected. It's also short, but that's my fault for not looking at the length. It's ok for using as a lead, but is too short to tie up with. The end of this is also very weird, it's literally a plastic tube with a metal band around it that will tear your hand apart if its pulled through.

HARD TO FIND (I want to hoard them)
Perfect length and circumference, love the solid color (dirty looking leads drive me crazy, so I love the black and navy, that don't show dirt). I especially like having a length of rope that I don't have to manage and triple fold, so it doesn't fall on the ground. By the way, my horses are large -17 hand warmbloods. Only thing I'd change is to have a brass snap, and reinforce the end with the snap. Otherwise, keep them coming! Maybe improve a bit on the snap, and we're golden!

Lead rope snapped in half in 5 minutes.
Had not even been on my mare before it snapped in 5 minutes and my mare ended up injuring herself after it broke and she bolted.

What a joke.
Wished I had read the reviews on here. Just arrived and thinking is this a joke? Cheap and poorly made and small that's a under statement. Normally low priced or expensive smartpak is good quality not this time.

It’s smaller than I thought
It’s not as long or thick as I thought, almost more like a dog leash instead of lead rope for a horse. It was in good condition though and I’ll definitely use it as a leash for my pups!

I should have read the description and reviews more carefully, but this lead rope is so so tiny! It looks hilarious in contrast as a lead rope for the 18 hand warmblood. the quality is fine and it seems durable, just very very short and thin.

Weak Lead
I have had this for a month, and on its fifth use the rope attached to the clip came completely undone. This is not for a horse that pulls at all against the lead. My mare doesn't sit back, but she will head toss and that was all it took to undo the lead from the clip.

When I bought this, I was expecting a longer lead, but for my horse it’s perfect size and he doesn’t need a lot of lead. It allows him to walk beside me without me tripping over excess lead. Perfect and compact, I would recommend

A Dog Leash, Not A Lead Rope
Too short (maybe ok for a bombproof, docile animal), very thin,with a metal wire at the end to keep it from unravelling. I believe the life expectancy would be about two weeks. I knew they were inexpensive, but I expected better from Smartpak.

This is more suited asa pony lead than for horses
My horse got ahold of his lead rope and was chewing on it, so it has started fraying. Purchased this as a replacement and was disappointed at what came. This should be labeled as a pony lead considering how small it is. I laid this one next to my current lead and it’s clearly visible the difference. Luckily I’m getting minis over winter, so I can use this for them.
