Not reliable
I bought these a while back but never really used until recently. After my horse tugged on the side reins, while cantering, the clips came undone and the side rein started swinging down, under and around my horse’s front legs. This was terrifying for him. Once I got him to stop, I noticed the clips totally opened. I’m not even sure I would trust these if I bought a replacement pair.

Runs large, quality as expected
These are great for every day schooling, Leather is ok quality. I had to punch 10 holes for my 16h TB, but there was plenty of space for me to do that

Snaps bend and come apart!
I love smartpak, but these side reins are poor quality. Snap bent and came open after just a few lunging sessions. I emailed smartpak and hey sent me a replacement pair. Same thing happened with the second pair. Smartpak’s wonderful customer service came through with a refund. But I will have to find a better product elsewhere.

Clips don't hold up
they look nice and the leather is great for the quality. However, the clips spread if the horse puts the slightest resistance on them. If you have a horse that is afraid to touch the bit at all im sure these would be great but I train horses and the first horse I used these on pulled a little and the clips opened up. I've had to squeeze them back to normal almost every time I use them.

Good quality
Bought these a few months ago to use on my ottb. So far I like them I think they could be a bit softer leather but for the price the quality is great! I use them on a 17.3hh TB and they are long enough to fit him without cranking his nose in which I was concerned about.

Good quality for price
Good quality and a huge range on the buckle hole's sizing. They've fit everything from draft crosses to ponies.
