Just okay
Sadly underwhelmed by this leather lead. I ordered it in black to go with a Vespucci halter expecting a solid thick leather lead but the quality of the leather is light, thin and slightly brittle. Great look with the large solid brass snap, just wish the leather was higher quality!

Soft and handy!

It was nice to find a leather lead without a chain. The clasp is large and nice looking. I softened the leather with a few applications of oil and it has become buttery soft.

Really nice for smaller hands
I bought this for my daughter's pony, a 15 year old large with a very laid back personality. Having a chain wasn't necessary and I like the shorter length for a child to manage (she is 4'10"). It's also comfortable for me (5'5").

Awesome turn around!
I ordered this beautiful leather lead with custom brass name plate on line at @11:00am on a Tuesday and received it on my doorstep the next day @ 11:00am! The quality and price were great for a custom piece, just what I expected. The turn around time was AWESOME, got to use it that week at a horse show!

Lovely Leather Lead!
I bought this leather lead for my convertible grooming halter ( which is brown ). I wanted something that looked nice, but will hold up to everyday wear and tear. And this is defiantly the one I was looking for!! It was soft and Supple right out of the box! And though they don't have the color, brown, to match my convertible grooming halter, the Havana color matched very nicely! If you look really closely of them side by side in the light you can tell the color is slightly off, but the stitching is the exact same color! I would recommend this product to anyone wanting a good quality lead for everyday while looking great, and for those getting the convertible grooming halter!

I bought this just as an every day lead and when my order arived, i was very suprised by how soft and nice the leather was. The engraved name plate was realy nice too. This is a lead nice enough for show but at the price of a consignment shop!!! Ill be orderig another one to keep just for show days!

I like that it doesn't have a chain and that it's a good value. I don't like the shorter length and that it bleeds. Overall fair buy, but not too exciting. Bought the matching Havana double stitch perri's halter, and that really bleeds! Bought cheap fleece covers for it.

Great Inexpensive Lead
I'm really happy that SmartPak sells a inexpensive leather lead & I love that it doesn't have a chain, just a clip. The color on mine did bleed onto one of my white towels because it was so hot outside so I would be careful where you put it. Overall great buy!

Nice lead...
But don't bother with the nameplate, mine broke off in less than 2 months and it is very easy to bend. The name plate should be thicker and more durable. Now I have two holes in the lead where the plate used to be.
