Smartpak knocked it out of the park with this one! This leather cleaner smells lovely. It does not leave my tack sticky or tacky like some other cleaners I have used in the past. Great price point and comes with its own sponge. Would definitely recommend!

Unbelievable
I have a Hermes saddle that is almost 50 years old. I LOVE this saddle and have been using a different brand of saddle soap to clean it. It started to look not as clean as I liked, so decided to try Smartpak Leather Cleaner after reading the wonderful reviews. I used it today and my old saddle looks, feels, and smells so beautiful. It was easy to use with the enclosed sponge. I let the saddle sit to absorb the saddle soap for a few minutes before covering it and putting it away for tomorrow's ride. I love the scent and the ease of using this product. I also used it on my bridle and it looks gorgeous, as well. I highly recommend it for old as well as new leather tack!!!!!

My tack smells like a candle and it's fantastic
First of all, this product smells fantastic. It's the kind of thing that makes you look like a lunatic since you're smelling your sponge as you work and are cleaning much more tack than you originally set out to clean. It works well, is a good value, and isn't too sticky or residue-y. The only complaint, if you can call it that, is that when I use it on the seat of my saddle, it sometimes makes my saddle squeak as I ride and my breeches rub across the seat. This didn't happen immediately after I got on, and eventually went away, but I do notice it for a few laps of the ring about 10 minutes into my ride on cleaning days.

I've classically just used leather new to wipe down my tack after riding and saw this product on the website. I've been wanting to do something a bit more conditioning for my leather and decided to give this a try. It is easy to use, a little goes a long way and it soaks in quickly with no residue. I am a total fan! And yes, it smells great, too!

Perfect!
This product is my leather care go to now! I’ve always wanted to be a person that cleaned all their leather after each ride but the soap/conditioner I was using always made my saddle super slippery. Every product I tried smelled weird, made my tack slick, left residue on my black leather (ex horseman’s one-step), or was a mess to use. Enter Smartpak’s leather lover. It doesn’t make my tack slick at all, smells amazing, doesn’t leave a residue, is super easy to use and not messy. Now I enjoy cleaning my tack after every ride. It’s a nice cool down time to let me think over my ride and I just adore the smell of the cleaner. Also something to mention is that it might seem like this is kind of expensive but this container is huge and is used up pretty slowly. For a little over $1.50 and ounce, it’s cheaper than many of the fancy leather balms I’ve seen that are super tiny containers. Obviously you should still deep condition your tack every once in a while and this is not the product for that but if you are looking for something to give your tack a nice everyday clean without leaving it sticky/slick or leaving residue, you’ve found it!

Perfect for everyday use and smells AMAZING
Bought this six months ago for something quick and easy to wipe down my gear after rides. It's absolutely perfect for that. It comes with a sponge that doesn't fall apart, it last FOREVER (seriously, I use it multiple times a week and I've maybe used a half inch of product), smells insanely good, and it dries/absorbs fast enough that when i come back in the morning for my ride, it's not sticky. Cleans very well. I would not consider this a deep conditioner, but it maintains your tack very well so you don't have to deep condition as often. For the price and how long it's lasting me? HIGHLY recommend.

Great on ALL my leather goods!
I bought this product a few months ago, and still loving it just as much as I did when I first used it! I've used it on my dog's collars, my saddle, my field and paddock boots, and even my EMS boots! I work as an EMT and my boots have clearly seen better days, but I figured this last round of shining I should try this stuff since it worked so well oh everything else. Let me tell you, I'm not sure why it took so long to realize that because I have never seen such shine! It usually takes three or four coats of the regular Kiwi black and parade gloss polish to look even half as good since they are "well loved", and this was much easier and so much more pleasant smelling then the Kiwi polishes are! PLUS the shine lasted through a whole 24 hour shift. I'm sold! When I use the cleaner on my saddle I do let it set for about 24 hrs and then buff off prior to riding in it, not because the product is greasy (it definitely is not,) but mainly because I am paranoid of "saddle soap crotch", lol. the smell is amazing too! I love this cleaner/conditioner so much that I even decided to write a review on it- which I never do. Great job SmartPak!! Almost time for me to get some more.

It gets dusty and dreary in the winter in NY where I ride. This cleaner keeps my stuff polished when it's cold and IT SMELLS SO GOOD. I wish it was more water repellant but it is so great. My current favorite product!!! Uplifting!

Great product for frequent use
In Florida, tack takes a beating--heat, humidity, sweat, and rain can deteriorate tack quickly. I wipe my tack down after every ride, and this is a great addition to that habit. It's easy to apply, doesn't leave a residue and smells fantastic.

Good Every Day cleaner
This is a good every day cleaner that conditions so you don’t need to do things twice. However, if something is very dirty I would use a different cleaner. It conditions leather nicely.

LOVE this!
I bought this cleaner to use on my Bates saddle with Luxe leather and it works so well so far! Adds a nice layer of protection without making the saddle discolored or slippery like some can. Highly recommend...bonus is that it smells amazing too!

Great for regular use!
Love this product. It's great for regular use after riding. I like to wipe everything down after each session in the saddle. This is perfect for that - quick and multipurpose. Not ideal for really dirty build up, but perfect for regular quick cleanings. Tack will still need a thorough cleaning every so often, but this keeps it really nice on regular basis. Will definitely be buying again.

Loving it so far.
Have used this a few times as a one-step post ride and it’s very nice. Smells great, goes on nicely. Seems to offer more conditioning than just a glycerin bar, although it has the feel/look of glycerin in a jar. I waited to buy until 20% off for Labor Day, so I’m going to have to see how long it lasts before I feel like it’s a good “value” for the money.
