Great bucket cover
I bought two of them a year ago thinking that I was waiting money. When it got real cold we would put hot water in it. When it was below zero there were a couple times we would just have a skim of ice on it. They have been amazing.

No freezing!
I bought 3 of these maybe 4 years ago. Always used water out of the barn hydrant and the worst it would freeze is a thin glaze when it got below 15 degrees in the barn. Last month we had sub zero temps and -35 wind chills. Barn hydrant froze, so I filled the buckets with warm water from the house and in those subzero temperatures there was no freezing at all, even overnight. I was impressed! Buy it--it's worth it!

Didn’t work
I’m surprised at the good reviews. This cover did not work, even inside my barn. Temperature was not that cold either. Threw it in the garbage.

Functional, But Not Durable!
These bucket covers are relatively easy to put on and work wonders for preventing the water from freezing, even in cold single digit temperatures, so it's quite a relief not having to constantly break ice out of buckets. The biggest issue is they are not durable. I've tried using four different covers over the past year, and each one has completely torn open within a week of use, so they've all ended up in the garbage. I hope the durability can be improved because the overall concept is lifesaving!

Lifesaver!
I bought these during a sale a few years ago and haven’t regretted it for a moment! We had a cold snap last night, chills around -10, so I woke up expecting to see ice in buckets and was happy to see none! These are easy to use, fit on the common, five gallon horse buckets and stay on all night (even with a curious yearling). I add warm water during my last rounds at night and love seeing half empty, ice-free buckets in the morning! They are really well-made, I have no complaints!

This is a BIG help
I bought this knowing we were dipping into the low teens at night. It definitely makes a difference. While water is going to freeze when it gets into the teens and single digits, this helps sustain it longer and keeps it from freezing so thick. The horses drink more. I am not beating buckets as hard because they are not frozen like a rock...a win-win!! These did exactly what I hoped they would do.

Effective for the money
I purchased one for my livestock dog’s water bucket. It’s going on its 3rd winter and its very effective! I bring hot water out each evening and it takes nearly 24 hours for it to even form an ice crust. Our temps regularly go into the single digits overnight outside, but within the barn is generally 15-20°F.
My playful gelding has hard plastic insulators and this bucket insulator is a competitive alternative at a quarter of the price.

Doesn’t work with playful, mischievous horses
They are lovely. I really like them. They feel kind of like a down jacket for your water bucket. They have Velcro in the back and around the rim to attach the two pieces. Sadly they lasted from when they were discovered about 15 min. My horse pulled 2 of these bucket warmers of both buckets within five minutes. These will work very well if you have a horse that doesn’t play with things in their surrounding areas. My horse is checking everything out that she can get between her teeth or hoofs. What I want to give them credit for is that they did not really break. Just on velcro patch came off, the bucket warmer withstood my Frisian.

Actually water, way less ice!!!
These are out in 0 degree weather and while they will freeze it will take hours as opposed to minutes. If it's in the teens often I have chilly but still drinkable water. My horses and goats love them!

I was really excited about these so I bought two for a couple stalls in a closed barn. A very thin layer of ice forms when it hits the 20s. When it got lower than 10 degrees, you might as well not use them as the buckets froze and the insulation kept them frozen longer than the non insulated bucket. If you dont live where it gets lower than 15 degrees then it should work.

Velcro is not a good option to hold bucjrt on...velcro gets dirty and does not hold. Does help keep buckets from freezing

Bucket cover
Got this to insulate a bucket. No directions on how to put it on. Irritating. Threw it in a junk pile.

Worked
I received this for Christmas and I use it when I need to heat up a bucket of water with the bucket heater. In 9 degree weather the other night it sped up the time needed to get the water hot enough for mash and managed to keep the water from freezing overnight. For what I use it for I am thrilled!

Save your money
Doesn't work in negative/single digit temps. Ice will still form on the surface of the water overnight. Additionally, these are a pain to get off and on and attach and even worse when they accidentally and inevitably get wet. Trust me, I wish they worked!

Helps a bit.
I bought one a few seasons ago. While it helps it doesn’t prevent freezing totally. I put a floater in the bucket that I use it on and that made it a bit more efficient.

Great! Best purchase yet for our fjord
In Maine
So far no frozen water in an unheated, drafty old barn. We do pour very hot water into the bucket.
We had some below zero Temps but not for multiple days in a row.
We put this on a regular bucket.

This does absolutely nothing
I live in NY and thought I would try one of these out for my horse. It doesn’t do anything at all to slow the freezing compacted to the plain empty water bucket, and both are I side my horses stall, inside a barn. I even tried putting hot water in to see if that helps and it still freezes. Disappointed in this, it’s a waste of money and annoying to deal with.

insulated covers for 7 gallon buckets
I bought two of these about a week ago. Our temps have been down in the teens and no frozen water. Water is still cold so I bring them warm water 2-3 times per day but I feel better knowing they always have water that is not frozen. Going to buy a third one. Covers were a little confusing to put on.

IT WORKS!
I absolutely love these. I don't have individual heated buckets in my stalls and have always had a problem with the buckets freezing up during the night when winter really hits. I got 4 of these a month ago and they've solved the issue. This morning it was 5° F and none of them were frozen!

Waste of Money
These are a waste of money. I wished I put my money into electric buckets that I now have to buy. They froze up when temps where in high 20s. The barn is well insulated. Nice thought, but bad product.

Waste of money!!!
I bought these for our barn because heated water buckets worry me.. buckets froze in 20° weather with the insulators on them. Don’t waste your money on these.

Didn't work
I just whipped these out for the first time. It got down to 10° last night. I came out in the morning and the buckets were frozen through. I don't understand this because the big muck bucket that I had also bought an insulator for was not frozen. These just flat did not work.

Really works!
I bought three of these several years ago. They work and they hold up well. I just ordered another one as I needed a replacement. I really like them and feel much more comfortable with these than bucket heaters.

Great insulator! Water doesn’t freeze at 15 degree
These are great, my horses water hasn’t froze when it dropped to 15 degrees. I also purchased the 70 gallon insulators but find those freeze because they don’t have a top piece. I think the top piece makes a huge difference once the temp drops below 30 degrees. I highly recommend this product.

Work really well!
I have these on my buckets in the stalls and they work great at keeping the ice out of the buckets as long as they are half full or so! A must have for the cold Jersey winters!

Great value
I bought this as we’re building a house and do not have electric yet for our water heaters. This is a great compromise to keep water from freezing. There has been a thin layer of ice on windy days when temps in teens, but I put warm water in and my horse drinks it down.

Works great
Temps in the 20's and the water didn't freeze. For another night of freezing temps change the water or add some hot to raise the temp. Worked so well we bought another one.
