Disappointed
Destroyed the first day. I purchased identical set from Chicks Saddlery as backup so let’s see how long they hold up

Fits well
This is my second year using these boots. My horse unfortunately ripped one of the straps off last year so I had to buy a new pair this year. They fit well, stay up, and don’t twist around like some others I’ve tried. For the price you can’t go wrong!

Decent Fly Boots
I got these for the back legs of my horse and so far they havn't been to bad. they do slide often and can't stay that tight at the top. But they do the job for him.

After a mild winter, I finally bought fly boots for my 2 TB's as spring biting flies were terrible. I am very pleased with the product - fits well, seems to stand up well to daily use and easy to clean. They have occasionally turned around 90 degrees on the legs but my boys play hard on land and in the water! As a bonus my destroyer TB hasn't managed to take them off or rip them. Definitely recommend.

Too big
I had to cut the Velcro down to size and they STILL don’t fit. Wasted money on these. I bought two pairs last year and can’t even use them cause they rotate too easily.

Rubbed My Horse, Not That Durable
The first pair I got were torn along the binding seams within a week or so of (not hard) use. SP did replace those under the guarantee, but the replacements also had failing seams after a couple months. In addition, bc these are close-fitting, they rubbed my sensitive-skinned horse underneath the velcro & created a sore that I'm still trying to heal fully. They also can turn, creating more binding around tendons than I'm comfortable with, as they only went about 1/2 way up the cannon on a horse with long hind legs. They did technically keep flies off & I liked that they extended over top of hoof, but the design didn't work in the long run & they didn't hold up to regular use. My horse had injured himself kicking at flies, so I hoped these boots would solve that, but they just created a wound of their own.

Great fly boot
Great design - durable and velcro keeps boot up. I like that there is no wire or plastic piece down that back.

These are ok fly boots
Bought six sets of these for my horses when they were on sale. They decent for the price, but a pair is already ripping after my easy going lesson horse has worn them less than 10xs. They twist and fall down, mostly if used on the hind legs. Top two straps fit my horse's legs perfectly, but the bottom elastic straps are huge. I bought cob sizes and my horse's range from 14.3h to 16.3h. The cob size fit my 16.3h TB mare the best, I think the horse size would have been way to big for her. Considering the price of them now, I'd recommend buying the Cashel ones. I've had those on another older horse for three fly seasons. They don't twist or fall down and have held up nicely for each summer.

They stay put
My OTTB shredded his old front boots, and reading the reviews, I wondered about these. But he needed, so I bought. I am glad I did! These stay put on him ; the closures are different, but effective, and he isn't fighting them.

Good fit, stay on 24hours
These are great fly boots. They stay on which is the best feature, don’t have any fuzzy stuff so I can throw them in the wash. They go low over the hoof which I also like to prevent those pesky flies all the way down the leg. Great buy at a good price and a guarantee by Smartpack!

Sadly disappointing
I bought these at the beginning of the season and was so excited about the fit for both my paint and Morgan. Unfortunately they lasted about a month before completely falling apart and the velcros ripped off

Good but with limitations
These are fine FRONT fly boots. Both my QH geldings have been wearing them for over a month. One boot has a tear (still completely usable), and one boot the bottom velcro came off. If they are put on too loose they sag, turn, and get stepped on. We are talking about 1000lb animal vs mesh. I didn't have high expectations here, but hopefully they will last the whole season. These boots are TOO SHORT FOR BACK LEGS. Definitely not the quality of more expensive boots (I've had Kensington boots for years). SmartPak should rethink their price point on these.

Not what I expected
I bought these a few weeks ago and have not been happy with them. They twist, turn, sag and really don't cover your horses legs. I have a 17.1 guy, and bought the large, and they are too short. I usually love SmartPak products, but was so disappointed. Three weeks later, I ended up buying the Shoo Fly Leggins and those are awesome.

Fits Great & Stays On
I purchased a cheaper set of fly boots and my gelding destroyed them in 2 weeks flat. They didn't fit and slouched down until he walked all over them.
But living in Georgia, fly spray alone just doesn't cut it and my boy's barefoot hooves were suffering from stomping. The barn owner uses SmartPak fly boots for her mare and said they work great, so I ordered these to try them out. I am SO happy that I did. I ordered the cob size because he's 14.3hh and they fit perfectly. I've had no issues with slouching and therefore he isn't walking all over them - I have high hopes for their durability. I also love that they match the SmartPak deluxe fly mask.
My only wish is that they sold them in 2 packs AND 4 packs, with a discount for buying a full set.

I so wanted to love these. I bought 4 pairs for my girls but they fell apart within just a few weeks. Back to Kensington for me.

Hard Pass: Boots didn't last a week :(
The flies have been brutal here. I bought both of my horses a full set to keep them from stomping flies. My older gelding (who is the kindest on his things) had torn the velcro strap off one in the first 10 minutes. The top and bottoms started seperating the next day or the day after. Just noticed that the mesh is also strating to come apart on my younger geldings boot. I have had them for a week, but they haven't been on every day. Super disappointed because I generally like SmartPaks products, but these are going to be a hard pass moving forward.

Disappointed
I’ve had these less than a month..... Bought 4 pairs.....poorly sewn. Threads frayed on one set, and the Velcro pad came off the side of one of them.....
On another, the top section completely separated from the bottom.....
Not worth the money, for less than a month of wear!

Too big to fit a Fjord
The only reason I did give them the 2 star rating is that they were too big on the little guy. You were out of the Amigo pony fly boots which do fit him.
Therefore I can't recommend them as I couldn't use them to see how they held up. I had to return them.

Ok product
The structure of the boot is well designed but the fetlock strap is way to big. Possibly if shorter and tightened correctly the boot would stay up better. Still do the trick but would have to be a boot that is reset every day. and not for all day turnout.

only great for as few weeks
I liked the style of these but the elastic stretches out and you can't get them tight enough. I'm thinking I should just sew the elastic shorter. They haven't been destroyed yet but the horse I use them on isn't crazy.

Good results so far!
I bought these 3 weeks ago, horse size holding up well, fits decently, ankle strap (3rd strap) needs to be shorter but not horrible on horse size(see my review on cob size)

Very poor quality
I purchased these boots and within a week 2 of them were torn at the seam. It's now been 3 weeks and I have 3 torn boots all in the same place. My horse is not hard on clothing at all so I don't believe this was a horse issue, but a quality issue.

Came Apart after 1 Day Use
I just purchased these fly boots for my mare because they were more fitted then the Kensington fly boots. The seam on the back of one of them frayed after literally the first day of wear and my mare is stalled. So, it looks like I will be sticking with the Kensington boots or trying the cashel fitted fly boots. Generally I like the smartpak products but would not recommend these fly boots.

Waste of $$
Cheaply made in China. The first day my horse wore these they came apart at the seams! Literally! I asked if they stood behind their products and sent photos but never got a response back before I wrote this review. Don’t waist your money.....

Waste of money
I gave these fly boots a try. After 2nd day started tearing, after 2 weeks they are literally not usable, torn in all places. Do not waste your money on these
I used the cashel in front and these on the back. The cashel are about 2 month old now and still in good shape.

fly boots = relief for my mare Katy
I bought these fly boots a little over a month ago for my mare and I love them. She is so much happier wearing them. She was stomping her feet constantly with the flies as she is very sensitive to them and even developed a summer sore on her pastern, that I treated and kept wrapped until it healed. I bought these boots to help protect her legs then and she has worn them ever since and like I said she is so much happier. I keep them on her all the time and just check them and her legs daily. The boots have held up to constant wear so far and I like that they give complete coverage of the lower leg all the way down to her hoof. They do tend to rotate around a bit as the lower straps are a bit too long and does not allow for a snugger fit. But overall I am happy with them.

Love Love Love
My horses are so happy with these boots. I bought one pair to test and I did not see my gelding stomp once and then I bought 2 more pairs for my other horses. Not sure what people are doing that they are falling down but I lie in west Texas and my horses are in a pasture with all kinds of things that pull off boots and shoes and these have not hardly moved. I do need to adjust a little every couple days but the relief that my horses feel is worth it. Plus I have 2 15.2 hands horses and a 16.1 horse and the horse size fits them all.
