This blanket features a combo neck design that gives your horse maximum protection against the elements. The 600D ripstop polyester outer is waterproof but breathable so your horse stays warm and dry during inclement weather. Plus, it also has a polyester lining and fleece padding at the withers to help prevent rubs. Additionally, roomy shoulder gussets give your horse the freedom of movement he needs and a tail flap provides some extra protection from wind, rain, or snow. Finally, two front buckles, cross-belly surcingles, and elastic leg straps provide an adjustable fit and keep the blanket securely in place.

Breaks everytime
I bought one last year and it tore with one use and smartpak sent me a new one and it also tore after one use. The neck part is the park that keeps breaking. I love smartpak but I would rather spend my money on something that will get more than one use.

Love the neck piece
I bought this blanket just to have as an extra. But I think it might be my new favorite. I love how long the neck piece and all of the extra Velcro it has. Other blankets have a gap between the neck piece and the chest. But this one closes up nice and tight

Blanket runs small..my horse is usually an 81-82 and when he puts his head down the attached neck pulls the blanket so far forward its about 4 inches too short on his butt. One of the neck straps also ripped off the second time he wore the blanket and he's not a destructive horse.

Good blanket
Seems to be very sturdy and made good . The only problem I had was the tail end was to wide and short for my horse . Otherwise overall the blanket is great .

Great blanket and great price!
We have lightweight blankets like these so, I took a chance and bought the medium weight ones for my daughter's jumpers. They are amazing. The boys love them and don't want us to take them off. These blankets are heavy enough for our Oklahoma weather (30 to 40 at night) but cool enough for the horses to keep on in the day (mid 60's) without the boys sweating in them. It saves us a lot of work and time, and the horses are happy and warm!

The blanket itself is great and I have no complaints but the packaging it arrived in gets 1 star. It came in what looked like an already opened then re sealed gray Amazon bag. And the blanket bag had 2 busted zippers so the bag wouldn’t even stay closed

Poor quality
We purchased this blanket for 2 different horses at our barn. Neither of them is hard on blankets and both of them are falling apart. One of the blankets the neck straps are falling off and the inside lining of the neck cover is wearing through with fill coming out. The other arrived with defective chest buckles and smartpak replaced it. Now with less than 3 weeks use the top velcro strap broke. I am so dissatisfied with the quality of these blankets. At this rate they wont be usable after this season without significant repair.

Poor Quality
I bought my first one of this 3 weeks ago and my horse is gentle as can be and all 3 neck straps came off within 6 days of wearing it so SP sent me a replacement and within 4 days, the same thing happened. I am so very disappointed!

Runs short or I have a defective one
I’ve bought several blankets from smartpak. They’ve always been good quality and fit but this one my horses hindquarters was exposed several inches. I always get him 78. He is 14 so he hasn’t grown. Unfortunately I bought and took it to a show so had no choice but to use it. I now own a blanket that I can’t return because he used it 4 days and can’t use.

Go for the Ultimate
This blanket is lovely and very warm. However - second day on my horse and the Velcro at the neck straps is coming apart and the seems overall seem to not be super strong. He is not hard on blankets at all so I’m not sure what happened here. I would say spring for the ultimate with the 10 year guarantee. Worth the extra $80 or so!!

It seriously ripped the very first day I put it on her. My horse is always easy on her blankets. But the whole belly strap ripped off and tore the side. It also tore in a couple other spots.

Ripped the first time
Sadly this blanket ripped the first day it was on my horse. I love my other Smartpak blankets and my gelding is super easy going, but it seems an inner layer seam failed and he busted out the whole shoulder. I emailed customer support 2 weeks ago and have yet to hear anything back. Not my favorite Smartpak experience...

Great blanket in this price point
Very happy with this blanket for the cost. The hardware is not as heavy duty as others- but my horse isn’t hard on her clothes so it ok. I LOVE that there isn’t a gap where the cheat and neck come together. And the neck goes all the way up to the poll. I’d definitely buy again if I needed another.

Disappointed in durability
I am typically a huge SmartPak product fan, but this blanket is disappointing. It’s been a mild winter so it’s only been on a handful of times, but my gelding has already ripped off one of the neck straps as well as a surcingle. The Velcro around the shoulder/base of the neck is also odd and seems to make him itchier than usual. I’m keeping it as is because I don’t want to go through the trouble and washing it and sending it back; but I wouldn’t buy this blanket again. Also, the closures at the front are annoying, I much prefer the snap style.

Does not hold up like other SmartPak products.
I purchased this blanket a few months ago. I used the blanket a handful of times before unfortunately arriving to the barn to find the neck strap and neck piece were completely destroyed. I live in the south so I literally maybe used the blanket 5 times. Also, this particular blanket runs very small in the neck. I have a draft cross and was not able to even use one of the straps or my horse wouldn't have been able to graze. I will say that I am thankful for the wonderful customer service for allowing me to send it back. However, I am not happy about having to wash it first and then pay shipping as well.
I hope after the replacement comes in and I have the straps lengthened and redone that it holds up for a least a season.

Pretty ok
Love the fit, unfortunately we are on month two and replacing almost all of the straps.....also the velcro keeps catching the inside material in the hood ripping it.
Both are off to be repaired, while my guys are in their 3 yr old weather beaters that haven't had nearly as many repairs......

Highly recommend
I bought this blanket as back up to an Amigo all in one and this is by far my favorite now! It has great coverage that keeps rain from getting inside and dripping down front of horse. The neck stays up well and the blanket stays in place well. Excellent coverage overall. My horse rolls a lot in his blanket and is out 24/7 so his blankets see a lot of use. I’ve only had this for couple of weeks so can’t say how long it will last, but it is very well put together and seems very sturdy. Most importantly, my horse always seems happy to get it put back on after riding so I believe he’s happy in it.

Great looking, poor fit, itchy
Just when this blanket arrived the temps in Michigan dropped to wind chill of 5 degrees. I was so happy to have this blanket and have NEVER had an issue with Smartpak products. I had just bought a Weatherbeater, same size, mid wt which fit perfectly so I was confident in this blanket which sadly was terrible. Short from shoulder to tail and from croup to thigh (looks like a mini skirt on my big boy). I was determined to live with my mistake except my boy was so itchy, rubbing his neck the minute he came into his stall. I looked inside and oddly there are velcro like strips on the base of the neck cover. So, I relented and am sending it back. No, not happy with this product.

Great Blanket, but size up
I really like this blanket, but I feel it runs small. I ordered the same size as my gelding is wearing in his standard neck SmartPak blanket, an 81, which is actually a little large on him. The combo neck is smaller. When he puts his head down to eat, his rear end is not as covered as I'd like. It has to be how it pulls with the neck piece attached. I let the front all the way out but it didn't help. I'm not a huge fan of the velcro that attaches the bottom of the neck piece to the front of the blanket, I don't think it's necessary and I worry about it catching on the lining. Unfortunately my boyfriend changed the blankets around while I was out of town, so I didn't notice the fit until I saw my gelding in turnout a couple days later. Not the end of the world, just never thought my 2 year old would need a size 84!

Good Blanket
Bought this when the Deluxe with the 10 yr warranty was out of stock when I got my new filly. It's been a great blanket. She goes out for around 14 hours a day and is in the rain a lot, it's never soak through and it keeps her warm/dry. She is 3 and very playful, so its got a couple of tiny rips, but they haven't gotten any bigger. The only reason i gave 4/5 stars is because one of the rips is where a belly strap attaches because her leg caught it when she laid down.... I feel like the blanket should be able to hold up to that. It is still intact, just has a rip. Over all a really nice blanket and i would buy again if needed.
