This leather crown piece is adjustable, along with the chin strap, giving you the ability to create a great fit for your horse. Plus, this halter also offers a heavy nylon webbed noseband and cheek pieces that are durable and available in a variety of colors to suit your personal taste. Additionally, brass plated hardware offers a classic look (silver option will come with silver plated hardware). Finally, the snap closure on the throat latch makes it easy to take it on and off without having to adjust the crown piece every time.

We have gone thru several others. THANKS Smart Pak, another win. Burgundy color is a beautiful deep wine.

Bought one 2 months ago and the clip was a little stiff, but didn't think much of it. After two months of daily use, the crown piece is fragile and the rings are all rusted. Very disappointed as I now have to find a new halter brand

Rated 2 out of 5 by Twhmum from C'mon SmartPak I just received these halters and am disappointed in the quality for the price I paid. The crown leather feels extremely cheap, quite brittle, not certain if it's real leather. Must noticeable, however, and this is the first time I've ever seen a halter like this, is that the chin and throat pieces aren't 1" nylon, as advertised in the listing. This makes these halters look extremely cheap. I purchased the halters so that I would be able to more easily locate my black (almost identical) TWHs in the back 40. I am not planning on trailering or taking the horses anywhere wearing these where safety or sturdiness is a concern. If that were the case, I would not keep them. Let's see how they hold up. For the price and based on prior purchases of SmartPak products I expected better quality. Has shrinkflation made its way to my favorite equine retailer? That would make me very sad, as I have relied on SmartPak for decades for quality products and fair pricing for both my personal horses and my clients'.

Rated 1 out of 5 by equusaside from DID NOT BREAK AWAY When my first one of these halters just wore out, I bought a second. Some years later, it needs replacing, as the throatlatch clip only just barely closes anymore. Before the replacement arrived, my horse was tied to the trailer and got his leg over the lead rope. This halter - with a worn out clip - FAILED TO BREAK AWAY with an 1100 lb athletic TB trying to rear and pull with all his might. I'm just lucky his brain kicked in before he got more than nasty rope burn.... Returning the replacement and getting a different style.
