Great alternative to pesticide salves IMO
Because I try to use natural products instead of harmful pesticides, I wanted to try this product and I have not been disappointed with its ability to repel bugs from my mare's ears and belly "sweet spots" that the bugs love. It lasts just as long and just as well as the other pesticide salves that I have previously used. A bit pricey but since it works, it's worth it. I
won't be using a popular pesticide salve any more even if there is still some left in the jar.

No fly zone ontiment
My horses love all the products from zephyrs garden. They work really well in healing wounds and other issues.
The fly spray is also wonderful smells great and my horses did not have any reactions to any of the products.
I have also tried to use natural products versus chemical ones. These are great.

Sweet relief!
I’m in charge of 2 horses and a mini donkey who have different ranges of sensitive skin. The mini donkey has allergies to fly bites, and this slave is very soothing when those bugs get through the fly repellent. The mare has a sensitive chest, and the slave helps her irritated chest when she gets into whatever it is she gets into. The gelding has been accident-prone lately, no matter how carefully I have inspected his enclosures, and the slave helps his scrapes heal beautifully! Love love love this stuff!

When did price jump?
Love this but the price really jumped . Last summer I paid 16 for 8 oz, now it’s 25? Did the formulation change?

works better than fly spray
I stumbled on this when my horse had a big cut on his neck and I had to keep it protected from bugs. Since then, I started putting it in / on his ears before trail rides. It kept the gnats at bay so well, I started smoothing it on his cheeks....then on his neck, etc. This morning I put it on his legs before a trail ride and it worked really well. I think the salve consistency is the magic, where even the best fly sprays evaporate. I’m still in testing mode, but the times I’ve used it on his body before riding outdoors, it’s worked surprisingly well (I never used to have faith in natural fly remedies.) Might seem a bit pricey, but I’ve had my jar for 3 seasons!

Easy to apply!
I purchased this product for a 15 year old Warmblood mare. Even with using fly sprays consistently her belly button was getting bitted up and sometimes became crusty.
Now after using Zephyr's Garden Healing Salve her belly button area is soft and healed.
I love this product and made sure that my Vet knew about it.

Smells good to all of us
All three horses like the scent, as do I. I have been applying some to the edges of their ears to keep the gnats away and it has helped. It does attract some dirt but not having to fight the horses to apply it makes up for that little annoyance. The citronella is not overwhelming, which I appreciate.

biting Insects have been aggressive enough to create open lesions on my horse belly. No fly zone protects the area without chemicals.

I just started using it on my sensitive horses skin. It does keep the biting flies off but, I only use it on spots due to the cost.

Great product
No fly zone by Zephyrs Garden has been my go to product for years to protect my horses primarily from midges and gnats in their ears, bellies, arm pits and inside hind legs. I hope Uckele continues to maintain this wonderful product as created by Zephyrs Garden.

Only fly protectant my horses will let near them.
My gelding has raw ears from bugs every year, and my mare is extremely allergic. I tried using SWAT but both despised it, I believe because of the smell--when I bought Zephyr, they considered eating it! They have a much easier time allowing me to put this on them than *any other* fly protectant product I have ever tried.
It doesn't work perfectly, for sure, and it doesn't work any better than SWAT, but it doesn't seem to be any different, and there is a huge preference on the horses' end.
Great for concentrated spots like underside of belly and armpits, even udders and sheath. Works best if used consistently and daily (as weather/bugs necessitate).

Soothing, nice smelling, non-toxic fly ointment.
I was looking for an ointment that was non-toxic to keep biting flies on my geldings belly. He LOVES the smell and so do I, I just warm a bit up with my fingers and gently rub around his underside and belly. Works great!

No Fly Zone really helps!
The oldest of my 3 horses has almost no forelock - it is very short, so he doesn't have much fly defense for his eyes. A little No Fly Zone carefully spread around his eye and face area helps so much - the flies do not come back for quite a while. It's also great to put on any belly irritations from those nasty culicoides gnats - it heals while repelling flies.

Healing repellant!
My yearling donkey is healing from bug bites and rubbing offf baby fur on the fence thanks to this product. Once I dug in to the soft greasey stuff below the surface for a good smear, he helped by rubbing as I applied. Took about 3 days to see big improvement. He tried to bite the jar several times so keep it out of reach!

still had flies
I love the Zephyr's sensitive skin salve so I wanted to try this since it claims to help keep bugs away. Bugs were still attracted to the areas where I used the salve. I will use this jar because it helps heal, but switch back to the sensitive skin salve when it is finished.

Not Perfect, But Effective
This doesn’t keep all of the flies away, but it does deter enough of them to make my horse more comfortable (without the chemical ugh of other ointments).

Doesn’t do much.
I bought this salve for faces and midline fly sores. It seems to help a little with clearing up itchy mid lines but not much else. It’s too expensive for what it is and what it does.

Live in the southeast? Buy it!
We moved to SC from CA and the whole bug thing is completely new to both me and my horse. Even though we switched to a great fly spray, I noticed those darn sand gnats hovering around his chest while he grazed. And within a couple weeks he had flaky, irritated, itchy skin. I tried some other products my stable colleagues liked, but also turned to SmartPak for a solution. WITHIN TWO DAYS, the flakiness was completely gone. No more sand gnats. I couldn't believe it. The gnats relocated to his elbow, which he did not appreciate under saddle, but again, within days the flakiness was gone. Plus, it being composed of natural products gives me peace of mind I'm not adding yet another chemical to his skin. Smells great, too!

Works like a charm
I bought this last month for my horse that has allergic reactions to bug/midge bites. Not only did it speed up healing of his existing wounds, it deterred bugs as well as, if not better than, chemical non-organic products I'd been forced to use. It smells great, too. It's a keeper. Please continue carrying this product.

Very different
The horses seem to like the smell and the flies stay off but not quite sure how long it stays on. It's hard to know how much your putting on because it is a very solid type of salve. I think it is worth trying.
