An Affordable Saddle Plate
The customization of the plate is gorgeous, I love the font and I'm really happy with how it looks on my western saddle. I felt it was easy to attach and did not need to buy additional hardware. The only reason I didn't give this plate five stars is because I do wish there were size options so that I could have gotten a larger one since it looks a bit small on a western saddle.

Great Quality, Great Price
I must have put this saddle name plate in my shopping cart and never ordered. I had to get a few things and added the name plate and couldn’t be happier. My daughter is obsessed with the movie Scream (not name of horse). She was elated when she noticed it on her saddle!

Excellent but trick to adhering
Before purchasing, I read the reviews. The plate got good reviews but the itty, bitty nails were a problem. So, I asked SP to send screws. Never arrived. So, despite replies that "yes they are on their way" or "you should have received them by now" I tried the plate with the nails. Near impossible to mount the plate on the saddle until I discovered, if one prepares the saddle with little holes through the plate before hammering the nails, this helps some. Then, because the nails are too tiny to hold between one's fingers, place the nail in the hole of the plate and rest the nail on your thumb. Gently tap to get it started and then hammer away. Your thumb will get hit a few times but, the nail will get in.

nails too small, bent, cannot attach to saddle
I was thrilled when this very pretty saddle plate arrived today, but there is no way I can get it on my saddle with these tiny nails! They just bent and are now worthless, and I can't use my nails from an old nameplate as they will not fit into the super teeny holes in this new plate. This new nameplate is 5 star quality and value, but I cannot use it.

Perfect. Almost.
Beautiful engraving though the plate came with just one tiny low quality nail (instead of two). I had to find other small screws to put the plate on my saddle. Had to dock one star for that hiccup.

Beautiful, but hard to install
The name plate was gorgeous, but the nails were so tiny and flimsy it was nearly impossible to nail onto the saddle. And even now, I dont think the nails were long enough to really hook into the saddle, so it’s a little flimsy. I just don’t touch the nameplate and it’s fine, so I’m hoping it lasts!

Nice quality but WAY too big for a saddle plate
This is the correct width, but too tall to be a saddle plate. It's VERY prominent on the saddle and nearly 1.5x as tall as other saddle plates in my barn. I won't be using it.

Beautiful plate, horrible nails
As others have already mentioned, the nails absolutely do not work. I would recommend not even bothering with the ones that come with it. They are flimsy and not long enough to actually "bite" into the saddle.

Bad attachment
The nameplate itself is lovely. It looks great on my saddle, but it fell off my saddle shortly after I put it on because the nails to hold it in place are ridiculous. I called Smartpak and they said they would send some new nails. I specified I did not want nails I wanted screws. Later that week I got a box- that had a tiny package of nails in it. A whole box with packing paper and air bubbles in it for four tiny little nails. So now I have two holes in my custom dressage saddle and no way to fasten the name plate. A definite miss Smartpak. And maybe think about envelopes for something that size.

The nameplate came better than expected and it looks great on my saddle! I wish the nails were stronger because it was hard to put on when they kept bending, but it eventually went on!

Wouldn't buy again
I bought 5 of these to install on each of my saddles (of various varieties) and they are a bit too tall/wide for my liking. They didn't give me an option of what fasteners to go with them, and only sent tiny nails. Hard to install (and keep straight) and would rather have screws.
