Extremely well made!!
This is the 2nd fly sheet I have purchased for my extremely fly allergic Arabian. I love this one since it has velcro on the belly straps and the back cover is longer in the front to keep bugs away from the horse.

Super durable, love the fabric
Bought this for my mare who gets eaten alive by gnats and super sun bleached, fits her really well and is holding up good to 24/7 wear.

Good features!
I got this coat and so far this has been great! Very durable and breathable.
This is very important since the climate I currently live in is extremely hot !!

Great fit but already ripped!
Love the fit and shape of this fly sheet. Does really well and really like the hood cut! There are no blank open spots for flys to get on. My only negative is that I have had this on my horse for 2 weeks (only 12 hrs per day) and the good already has a hole in it. My horse is mainly stalled and not turned out with other horses. I am disappointed in the durability of this sheet. He is not hard on sheets and blankets ( for example I have owned the same blanket for him for 4 years as it is still nice and intact with no rips or tears). Overall I really do love the fit and shape so much that it overweights the durability. I just expected better from Rambo. It does run large my horse wears a 75”-76” and I ordered a 72” in this fly sheet. He is a 14.3 hand Quarter horse.

Excellent quality, but the bellyband too short.
I've always had Rambo fly sheets but this new version now has bellyband velcro that works in tandem with the surcingles. Granted, boy is plumb, so I sized up one size from my normal Rambo sheets, and the bellyband velcro is still way too short. As another reviewer mentioned, the surcingles are plenty long, plus adjustable, but the velcro bellyband is short by about 5" on my boy. Maddening, because if I size up, the sheet will be too large overall. Still excellent Rambo quality, but I may resort to having the velcro bands extended through a blanket repair service.

Great Features and Super Tough!
I bought this for my young OTTB who is incredibly playful and who's pasture mates love to bite and pull on each other and their "clothing" ha ha. The fit is fantastic and it has held up so far to their shenanigans. Being in a very hot area of California, I also appreciate that on days that have reached 90 degrees (in spring no less!), he has remained cool underneath. I'm excited about the protection from UV rays as well. Last year his coat got very burnt and dry from the sun. The only other thing that would make this fly sheet the ultimate...would be if there was a warranty. Alas, this was why last year I went with the SP Ultimate but they discontinued the 2019 model and the 2020 versions fit doesn't work for my boy.

Good full-body coverage
This fly sheet has a plethora of surgicals and velcro, and together these add up to excellent coverage across the whole body. I bought my horse's normal rug size and it fits well, with one exception: on the belly, the sheet has two velcro closures and three surgicals. The surgicals can adjust quite a bit, but the velcro fit is snug even on my relatively lanky thoroughbred. I suppose it could be worn with this velcro undone, but if you have a large-barreled horse you may want to double check the fit.

Excellent Fly Sheet
I bought this when my Amigo Bug Rug had been torn apart by my horse's pasture-mate. The Rambo Protector is made from more durable fabric than the Amigo. My horse has very, very sensitive skin and the fabric is not so tough that it gives him blanket rubs and the fit provides lots of coverage to protect him from the biting insects. He has been wearing the sheet daily for overnight turnout for about a month now and it still looks the same as the first day I put it on him.

Great bug protection
Having read other reviews I ordered one size down from what my horse usually wears and it fits great. He has great mobility and also great coverage. On hot days (over 82degrees or less and humid) he does sweat at the chest area but not in the body. That sweating is the only criticism I have. It appears that it will last well, as others at my barn have told me. It is easy to wash (I hose it off every few days, hand wash with detergent once a week) and looks good.

So much for the 3 year guarantee...
I bought the ultimate fly sheet originally because it had a 3 year warranty. I specifically called to verify it. So, like I knew he would, my TB tore it up. It wasn’t until I called for another fly sheet that I found out that smartpak no longer carries the ultimate fly sheet. They gave me this one to honor the warranty...once. Now it’s void. This sheet is a good sheet. It does cause rubs on hips and withers if I put it on every night. It’s off everyday when he’s in the barn. The fit seems pretty good. Hopefully it holds up for the next 2.5 years. Lol.

stretches over night
the reviews are great for this fly sheet. surprised that no one has the problem i see with this sheet. it fits great when put on. overnight it streches and ends up very long behind and very tight across the shoulders and chest. the front is hard to undo and my horse is sweating because the front is so tight there is no air flow.

Texas Tough
I just purchased my fourth Rambo Protector in five years...and the first one is going strong.
The blanket is easy to fit to my varied size horses: 29 year old Arabian and a stocky foundation bred QH are my extremes.
The blankets stay in great shape because they fit well.
My favorite feature is ease of putting them off and on. They hose off and are ready to go back on.

Amazing sheet
I have tried several brands and styles of fly sheets for my pony with sweet itch but they were either too hot, too fragile, didn't prevent bites, etc. I wish I had just saved all that money and started with the Rambo Protector. This thing is SO nice, high quality and extremely well made. My mare stays very cool under it with only minimal sweating on 90-100+ days. She has not gotten any new bites since wearing this sheet and aside from some dirt, it still looks brand new. I wish it had a belly band, but the 3 surcingles and extra material on the belly offer quite a bit of protection. My mare wears a 72" in blankets and I size down to 69" for fly sheets because they tend to run large. The 69" fits her, but is a little tight in the shoulders. I believe the 72" would be too big though, so just be aware if you have a horse that's hard to fit or in between sizes. I plan on buying these for my other horses since I've finally found a quality sheet that doesn't get too hot!

The Best Fly Sheet
I got one of the older Rambo Protector Fly Sheets a few years ago and it has held up super well with my hard on blankets herd. I recently got a new mare and decided to spend the money and get her a sheet that would last. The newer Rambo Protectors are more lightweight and the material seems more breathable and flexible. After reading reviews and doing some measuring, I ordered one size down and it fits perfectly. My mare is an OTTB, leggy, but with an uphill eventing build. I can't say anything for the durability yet as its only been a few days, but if it's anything like my last one, these fly sheets are almost indestructible.

Good quality, fit and durable!
I have only used this Rambo Protector for about 2-3 weeks. I was undecided between this or an Amigo with a softer material. I went with this one as my horse loves to roll multiple times a day and it has held up very well. He is not rough on blankets but loves to roll a lot. Being a thin skinned and sensitive Thoroughbred, he has not had any rub marks. They mentioned to down size if in-between sizes and I did just that. Fits great, doesn't shift on his body, doesn't rub, the neck cover stays in place and doesn't fall to his chest. I am happy with this item!

Very happy!
I received this a couple weeks ago and I am very happy with it. The material is great and although its a bit more money than some of the competitors, I know that I can trust Rambo blankets as I have multiple amigo/rambo blankets all of which have been great. Only complaint is that there are no d rings to put legs straps on if needed. So far however, the blanket has stayed put very well.

Great fly sheet!
This is a great fly sheet. I followed the advice of others and ordered one size down and it fits perfect. This sheet is easy to spray off when it gets muddy and dirty, offers the right amount of coverage and stays in place. I always purchased Kensington but tried Rambo this time and love it. I think it will hold up as well as the Kensington fly sheet too.

Flies bite through mesh
I have 5 Rambo blankets/sheets and 2 Rambo coolers. I LOVE all my other Rambo products, but not this one. The mesh is too large, and horse flies can bite right through it. The fabric is also quite stiff. I wanted to love it, but it didn't work for my horse.

Great quality
One of my horses has sweet itch. His last Rambo fly sheet lasted 6 years! It definitely needed to be replaced this year but I was so impressed with the quality and how long the old
sheet lasted! The first sheet we ever bought him was thinner and only lasted a few months. I love how the sheet covers the belly and has fly repellent in it. I highly recommend this sheet! I gave it 4 stars because the 75’s belly cover was too short. The 78’s belly cover is the perfect size but the sheet is long on his body. Smartpak has amazing customer service and made the exchange so easy

Strong and well made summer sheet
I bought this recently and it came highly recommended. It is really strong which I need for my pastures where the horses can rub on trees. The mane and tail protection is a must and this sheet has them. The sheet runs very large. My horse takes a 72 and I ordered the 69 (smallest available) and it is still too long in the back. We have hot! weather so this sheet should keep the flies off, protect from the sun, and still not be too warm because it appears to be breathable.

My favorite fly sheet ever!
Living in southern California, it's pretty much fly season year round. My 2 boys live in their fly sheets almost 24/7 for most of the year and I can't say enough great things about them. The material is very durable, but still cool enough to keep them from sweating on the hotter days. I love that this sheet never rubs their skin raw where other blankets and sheets tend to. It stands up to abuse from my horse's pasture playmates. It may be a more expensive fly sheet then others, but you most certainly get what you pay for. I liked this sheet so much that I purchased it again for my newest horse. I will never buy another fly sheet!

Tough!
I bought this fly sheet last year. Dabble doesn’t treat his turnouts gently, so I was hesitant on purchasing this because it’s pricey. The only damage done is a small hole and he has this on 99% of the day and night since he’s so sensitive to bugs. Also, it’s been hot so far this summer and Dabble sweats easily. However, when I take his flysheet off, he’s just as sweaty as he would be if he didn’t have it on. I also love how the material is tough and kinda “stiff” compared to other flysheets that just hang like sheets. Awesome! I’m very pleased! I will def purchase another in the future!

Well made fly sheet
This is a very well made, good fitting fly sheet. I love the design, the cut, and the placement of the fasteners. The mesh is heavy duty and really helps keep the bugs from biting. What keeps me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that (for my horse at least) it does not breathe well and she overheats in it. This happened on several typical summer days in the low 80's. But yesterday was 77 with a good breeze and she still got too hot. Her stall, which has a fan, opens onto her pasture, so it's not because she's forced to stand outside in the sun. She has been hot even in the shade of her stall. I think the fact that the material is so strong also makes it heavier and the smaller openings that keep bugs from biting also prevent optimal breathability. I'm really bummed, but I'm going back to her Amigo fly sheet.

You get what you pay for!
I bought this about a month ago for my 18yr old appendix QH, 15.2hands, around 1150-1200lbs. I got a 75' for him and it fits perfectly. The quality of the material is excellent, very sturdy. Additionally, the front clasps render themselves well for not rubbing the horse's shoulders, which is usually my #1 concern with blankets. The three belly straps are great and the extra structure to the neck cover kepps it up and in place. I really have no complaints, let's just hope my horse keeps it in one piece for a while!! The ladies at Smartpak were great to talk to about sizing, if you need any advise.
