Rated 5 out of 5 by Cindy from Padding is very Thick! Halter is really well made! I love these halters! The padding is very thick and he never gets halter rubs. The only thing that tears them up are his buddies when they're playing halter tag! This is the 2nd one I've bought!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Herta from Design flaw I have been buying this halter for several years, and have always loved the design and functionality - they last. However, my most recent purchases were very disappointing. The halter design has changed and now only has a (poorly sewn) fleece pad over the poll. The fleece is not adjustable and is lopsided over the poll when adjusted to a horse's head. The fleece extends all the way down to the jaw on one side and rests just behind the ear on the other side of my horse's head. Unfortunately,I will not be buying these halters again.

I tried a couple that had padding but the strap remained narrow, and even those left an indentation. This halter has padding at a greater width so the pressure is distributed over a larger area.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Juli from Brass plated, not brass. In all fairness, these halters are coming up on 18 months old, but I specifically spent a little more for brass hardware. The hardware is not brass at all. It is brass plated. As these halters have aged, the nickel underneath has become exposed and is corroding. The halters themselves are in fine shape but they have to be thrown away because the hardware is wearing out

Rated 2 out of 5 by Alexandra from Not functionally safe Bought this halter hoping to use for shipping as it was padded. Should have paid better attention to the photos otherwise I would have seen that it's not really a safe halter for that. The throat latch buckle is facing out instead of in so it could get caught easier. And being that it's not a breakaway halter is very dangerous, I wished the buckle swiveled so it could face in but it's fixed. Also the sizing runs small, I ordered a cob (14.3 mare) and it only fits on the biggest hole...which means that the padding isn't even across the crown anymore where it's meant to be. The quality of the material is nice but I don't think a lot of functional planning went into designing this halter. Also, the stitching isn't completed on the throat latch so the halter is already coming apart and it hasn't even been used yet (manufacturing error). I really wanted this halter to be as functional as it is beautiful but it's not. I've come to find that a lot of the newer Horseware brand items aren't sized properly or designed with the utmost safety in mind. Unless they beging producing better designed products, I don't think I'll be ordering this brand in the future. I still give it a 2 because it's good quality material, very pretty, and useful as an in hand halter (just to safe for shipping with that buckle turned out).
