Great product, sizing is whacky
These run crazy small!! My horse wears an XXL and it's barely large enough. We would actually be better with a XXXL, but Smartpak doesn't carry this size so we deal with getting by on the XXL. He's a 15.2 horse with pretty standard feet. Maybe a little on the larger side for a horse his size. Definitely order a size or two up from your usual. Otherwise, these work great! Quality is fantastic, they protect well, and the bulb prevents them from rotation. Great boot!

Love the color options, but runs small
Love the different color options so that I can distinguish between horses. Did notice that these do run small so plan on ordering 1 size larger than you normally would.

I bought the XL for my 16.3 TB who wears a size 2 shoe and they fit perfectly. They are not as durable as the pull-ons in my opinion but great for a Velcro option.

Time will tell :)
The heavy duty fabric frays at the bottom of the boot. Is it due to moisture in the ground? Or they can fray from being near the ground? I will go back to the rubber style Velcro

Have held up so far!
I got a pair of these a few months ago, and while they do rub a little bit, they definitely keep shoes on better than other bell boots I've used! They do run small - I bought mediums which is the normal size bell boot my horse wears, but they were definitely too small. Fortunately SmartPak has a great and easy return policy so I exchanged them for larges, which fit perfect.

These boots work great!
My horse started interfering in back and while we figure out why it started and how to correct that, I am using these boots. So far, so good! They do not twist so there are no rubs. However, they must fit very snug. They also run small so purchase one size up. My horse is 16.3 and wears a size 2 shoe. The XL fit great.

good quality
Have several pairs of these and they hold up well. Bought a different boot to put on a horse to try to prevent pulling off shoes in paddock- and ,boy can he pull them off- just walking around! The other boots stay on but the shoes still do not. These boots stay down on back of hoof a bit more, and are actually large enough- so far, no shoe mishaps. I love these boots for lunging- have never had one come off even at the silliest play moves

Run Small!
Awesome bell boots that get the job done. Do run a bit small though. Make sure you buy a size bigger than you think you'll need! Overall though the colors are amazing and they hold up super well.

Nice boots
Really like these boots, well made but sizing is off. I have a quarter horse, ordered the large to be safe. One fits really good and the other is off in sizing otherwise happy with them.

Love these
My horse wears the XXL on turnout. In the summer they're on 14+ hrs/day. Compared to others I've tried they're virtually rub free. Just the lowest part of his heal is missing a little bit of fur. Sometimes they do turn but not often. They're extremely durable and easy to clean. I highly recommend these for all day use.

Very happy!
I had to buy bell boots for my mare after the farrier put shoes on her for the first time in her 9 years due to re-sectioning caused by white line disease. Never having had to use bell boots, I bought the Professional's Choices ones and could not be happier with them. Easy to put on and they stay on. Love them!

Nope.
Size large fits my 16.2 tb. He wears them on his hinds to help protect from brushing. 10 minutes into our warm up and at least one of the boots will be turned. One of them also rubbed his skin raw and drew blood. Not happy.

Great Bell Boots
I bought these in the hopes that when my horse is out running or going crazy in the turnout that he wouldn't be able to pull his front shoes off. So far so good. My shoer said these are the only kind to buy bc they stay in place and are reinforced in the back where the front hoof would hit and cause damage. He said the rubber bell boots are horrible and a waste of money bc they don't protect or prevent injury.

Great protection for the heels
In the past my foxhunting horse often lost a shoe after taking an extravagant step out in the field. I put regular bell boots on him but still lost shoes. Last year I bought a pair of the Professional's Choice overreach boots and found they provide considerably more padding and protection for his heels. Best of all, he seemed to stop pulling off his shoes while foxhunting. So now I ordered a pair of these for my
event horse.

Beautiful material and so well made.
These boots do stay in place and do not twist around. They are very sturdy and good value. My boy moves well in them, he doesn't know he has them on.

Amazing bell boots!
I am a huge fan of these bell boots. One of my horses has HUGE feet (he's a registered American Warmblood but Spotted Draft X Thoroughbred) and I will say they run extremely small. Smartpak doesn't carry his size as he is an XXXL. In eskadron bell boots he is an XL if that helps with sizing and such. But they are the toughest bell boots out there I would say and I use a black pair every time i ride. I wish the larger sizes came in more colors for the paddock bc I would like to be able to find them in the field if he does manage to get them off.

Great Bell Boots!
I love these Bell Boots! After making the mistake of trying to ride my horse in Davis PVC bellboots, he was left with a pastern rub. Not to mention the awful flop flop flop sound of a plastic or rubber bell boot while riding. These bell boots (when properly fitted) are silent and do their job very well! I RARELY get off after an hour ride and see the boot turned. This is HUGE for me as I know they're staying in the exact place they belong to provide the most protection. Make sure you size UP. My horse is 16.1 with a size 2 shoe, and I ordered XL in these when he typically would take a size L. The XL fits perfectly.

Great boots
I have been using these boots for 5 plus years. I use them for turnout and work. I get 1-2 years of use from each pair. They should fit snugly so they don't spin

Theses last longer
I've owned these before and they last much longer than gum/rubber bell boots for my older, over-reaching horse. Six weeks ago I purchased a pair of rubber bell boots with velcro closures because I have very stiff hands. Within a week one was badly nipped on the backside. After two weeks, the other tore completely in two.
While I do like ballistic bell boots, I don't like him to wear them for long periods of time--so turnout is a problem. They hold moisture and I worry about the condition of his hooves and coronet with them. So I'm sort of stuck.
If you're just using these when you ride, I'd say go for these. For turnout in dew/rain, I'm just not sure.

Very hardy!
I bought this bell boot because my horse kept pulling its shoe and the rubber bell boot I had on him kept slipping off in mud/pasture. It has stayed on through all weather and we haven't had a shoe pulled since!
