It's ok, not a miracle cure though.
This is a very nice bit and does seem to help a little bit from preventing my horse from leaning, but its not a huge difference. He will get behind the bit some now instead of leaning, but we have only had it about two weeks now, so we'll see.
My gelding usually rides in a 5 1/4", but I had to go up to a 5 1/2" with the Verbindend.

Love This Bit!
So far I’ve had good results with it on three of the horses I ride. It seems to sit very comfortably in their mouths which has encouraged a steadier contact through the rein. It’s an expensive bit, but Smartpak’s member association discount and a coupon they sent me (from a previous purchase) helped with the cost.

Great Bit
Nice bit. I changed to this bit because my young horse had grown and needed a longer bit. I had a similar bit and the transition was easy.

Great design
My horse has a very low palate and he likes this bit. No more stiff jaw or grinding teeth.

Great bit!
It has always been a struggle with my friesian mare finding a snaffle that she won't run through, lay on or avoid. Very happy with her response to this bit. She doens't run through it or lay on my hands as much. She seems to like it much better than the plain snaffle I was ridding her in.

Great bit!
Love this bit! Has helped me teach my big warmblood to get off his shoulders. No curling behind the bit. Seems to do all that it claims if you read the blurb that comes in the packaging.

Best bit!
My horse loves this bit and so do I. It fits well and the curve helps keep my horse soft.

Definitely an improvement
I'm loving this bit on all three of my young ottbs. They were all hanging a bit on a different snaffle. I feel like they are much softer from the get go with this bit.

Horse hated it
Tried the join up on my horse. He hated it. I usually ride in a myler level one loose ring (usdf legal) and thought I'd try this to encourage him to be more forward in bridle. He chomped and stayed behind the contact in the NS bit. Also, the metal in the rings seemed to scratch very easily, just after one use. I'll stick to myler.

Dressage legal for my pulling horse!
I have a horse that tends to pull very much. Previously to me, he has been Tried in just about every bit, with no luck to keeping him soft. I did all the body work, vet, shoeing, voo do witch doctors to try to soften him. Still no luck. Literally he was ripping your arms off at the canter. My grand prix dressage coach told me about this bit. Omg what a difference! Our scores dropped 5 points the next test. And I didn't lose circulation in my arms ;-) highly recommend for a horse that roots or pulls against the contact.

Unusual look. Unusually good effect.
I hesitated to buy this bit when it first arrived on the scene because of the reverse curves compared to traditional snaffles. A student tried one on her horse and I liked the resulting feel on him so much I tried one on a young horse starting in his first double bridle. I was so impressed, that I now own a regular snaffle as well as the bradoon. It truly does improve the lateral flexion aid in a clear way.

Surprisingly light
I just recently started using this bit on my horse that originally was hesitant in the contact then became too heavy. This bit is working for him, it allows me to remind him when he starts to get heavy to be light. It is still gentle but effective. I normally use herm sprenger bits but I am pleasantly surprissed with this bit. I ordered his normal herm sprenger size and it seems to fit well.

My horse loves this bit!
This was the third bit I tried for my new horse. He wouldn't stop fussing with the first two, but, similar to the experiences of the other reviewers, he readily accepted the Neue Schule Verbindend and is very quiet with his mouth in it. I also really like his responsiveness with this bit. I'm so relieved to find something that works for him!

Took a few weeks, it really has helped
I bought this for my ottb who was going well in a Myler but started rooting and going above the bit, even at the walk. After trying MANY other brands, I tried this. My horse immediately quit rooting at the walk, and over a few weeks has quit rooting completely. He lifts thru the shoulder much nicer too. I would recommend this, and give a a little time because the change can be gradual..

First "dressage legal" bit that has worked for us!
My mare came to me hard mouthed with very little "correct" training. We went through several bits trying to find something that was effective without being harsh. We ended up riding in a beval bit for several months because anything else was essentially ineffective. She has the tendency to lean heavily into the hands at trot, yank at the reins in a halt or walk, and ignore half halts altogether.
At a friend's suggestion, and after researching reviews online, I decided to try the verbindend. From the very first ride, I was amazed. My horse was both light and responsive! Even moreso than the beval which has the gag action. My horse prefers a thinner bit, so we went with the 12mm. I can't explain why the design of this bit works so well, but it does, so definitely worth it!

Wonderful!
My horse loves this bit. I used a double jointed snaffle with German Silver before this bit, and he loved this one right away. He also salivates in this one which is a huge plus! I also think that it provides more control in the half halts, which I really need with my strong willed Appy pony! ;)

My horse doesn't love dressage (it's a necessary evil so we can go XC) but he loves this bit. It makes our time in the sandbox a little easier!

Great Bit!
I use this bit on both my 3 Year Old Materiale gelding and my second level gelding. I find it encourages them to go round and accept contact better than any other double or single jointed snaffle I've ridden them in.

Instant change.
My horse is a huge dreams queen when it comes to bits. He likes to open his mouth, put his young as far back as it will go and try to get away from all contact with the bit. As soon as I used this bit, he was relaxed and supple. I this is an amazing bit.

Best bit on the market
I can not say enough great things about this bit!!! I have 5 OTTBs and a young TB who never raced. They all go amazing in this bit, they are all at different levels of training as well. The acceptance of this bit by all is truly amazing. Wether I am teaching my baby ( who is 4 and has 20 days under saddle) to steer, or teaching more advanced dressage moves in my now 8 yr old ottb who has been off the track 3 years , or galloping cross country on my 17 hh OTTB who has been off the track 4 months, I have relaxed, responsive, soft horse under me! Thanks to this amazing bit.. my boy who would ride with his tounge out ( old track habit) rode with his tounge in his mouth for the first time after trying numerous different bits, he loves this bit! My 27 yr old ottb who I normally ride in a dr. Cook b/c of his of how much he dislikes bits, accepted this bit right away and at first couldn't stop salivating..LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! you will NOT be disappointed :-)

Works very well with my horse
I've been very pleased with this bit. I'm a dressage rider, and I feel like this bit helps me get a nice elastic contact. My horse is steadier in the bridle too. My trainer had suggested that I get this bit, and I'm glad she did. She's tried this type of bit on other horses in the barn: some did equally as well, but some really objected. It seems like bitting is inherently a trial-and-error process, but if you have a horse that tends to hang on your hands, I'd recommend giving this one a shot.

Loved the shape!
I really liked the shape of this bit and how it laid in my horses' mouth and seemed to have even distribution. However, it weighs barely anything and ultimately wouldn't work for my horse, though I wish it did!
