Perfect Stirrups
I bought these to use on my Wintec Pro Stock Saddle. Beautiful quality stirrups with many great features. I spoke with MDC directly to find out which of their stirrups would be the best for me as a trail rider with knee and back problems and they suggested this one. Very comfortable and easy to pick back up if you lose a stirrup.

quality and design is top notch. Sadly not for me
I had great hopes that the wide foot bed would help with the issues I have with losing feeling in my right foot/leg while riding. Sadly it made it worse. This is not through any fault of this particular stirrup, as I borrowed several other types of wide foot bed stirrups and all of them were similar in making my particular issue worse. They are a godsend for others so don't let their failure for me keep you from trying them.

Perfect for Senior Riders
I am a senior going from hunter/jumper to dressage. With the longer stirrup, I was losing them all the time. The wider bottom and grippy pad have solved this problem. Plus the bendy aspect works well for an ankle I fractured last year.

The ultimate in comfort
I didn't think this stirrups could make as big a difference as they did from the very first ride. My ankles always felt a bit sore after a long ride or an intense training session in my old school traditional irons. I thought that was just the way it was...until I got these. They delivered 100% on their promise. I will NEVER give them up. I plan to ride for many more years and these will help make that possible.

Like the flexibility
These are great to have at a range of angles, etc., that is most comfortable for the rider. I do wish they had pads or something that would stay more with the foot, but overall they are great and versatile to the rider.

Prefer MDC Ultimate over Super Sport
These are excellent built stirrups. They did not work for me because the smallest size was 4.5. I did give them a try but they were way too big. I didn't think a 1/4 " would matter. I wanted to get MDC stirrups because you can set the angle. After riding in Herm Sprenger this are far better. I exchanged them for the Ultimate 4.25, which I love!

High Hopes for these, but product fell short...
REALLY wanted to love these stirrups - design sounded promising. I ride 6 times a week, sometimes multiple horses, and due to some arthritis in my feet I tend to get stiff ankles and sore soles after I ride. But after trying these irons I am returning them for the following reasons:
1). Interior stirrup height too tall for safety - I wear a ladies size 7 paddock boot and my entire foot including the base of the heel can fit through the stirrup opening.
2).I couldn't find a benefit to the hinged pivot - maybe because my stirrup leathers are well broken in and have a natural twist in leather already.
3) I found the wider tread base to be quite comfortable, but found that it changed my lower leg balance. I can certainly see how this wider base would be nice on a trail. I liked the slight downward angle on the back side of the tread. Probably could get used to the changed leg balance, but given all the other issues, sending irons back for something different.

Improved position & pain relief
I didn't notice it in the first few rides but after a week all of the tightness in my hips and knees after rides was gone! While I strive to stay in shoulder hip heel alignment, I find it much easier to stay ib this position even when I'm getting tired after a long ride.

Ripped up the bottoms of my boots
This is almost a year to the day that I had them shipped to me, and with steady use at least twice a week.
They might not be exactly "cheese grater" bottoms, but they will wear out the ball of your foot on your boot like crazy! My feet still haven't slipped out of the stirrup at all- which is great, I'm just sad that I need to get my boots repaired.

Excellent base of support!
I have MDC stirrups but have started having more issues with foot and knee pain when riding. I purchased the MDC Super Sport Stirrup in hopes to achieve that. I have been very happy with them and I could tell from the first ride! The wider base of support is great and the flexible joint is a necessity for me! I want them for all my saddles now!

Worth the extra money!
I often find myself fidgeting and fighting with my stirrups to find a comfortable position. This has completely stopped since purchasing the MDC Super Sport stirrups. I absolutely love the wide, supportive base. I also love the stirrups pads, they do not hurt my feet like the cheese grater stirrups but still provide extra grip. The hinge is different than I expected but a concept that works well. While is rotates and swivels, you have to 'click it' into place depending on the angle you want. It is not a free moving swivel. After riding in a friend's saddle who had these stirrups, I purchased my own. I typically would not have spent the extra money on stirrups but these are so comfortable and well made I am sure they will be worth the investment long term.

Excellent stirrups!
I bought these stirrups to see if they would help with ankle fatigue on fifty mile endurance rides. Although the ride season hasn't started yet, I have been doing a lot of conditioning in them, and they have really helped.

Don't foxhunt without these!
I got myself some plain, inexpensive flexible stirrups. The flex helped, but I was still having pain in my knee where I had my meniscus removed. It was like the supporting muscles in my knee were being fatigued by the slight pressure to turn a regular stirrup outwards and it would be sore for a day or two after a long, hard hunt. I borrowed these and was shocked at the difference having not just the flex, but also the extra wide foot bed and the adjustible tops made to my foot and knee comfort. To top it all off, I lost a stirrup doing a complicated ditch crossing onto a road and was able to slip my foot back in a lot faster. I can't recommend them enough, they are worth every penny. As my friend with restless leg syndrome said, "I spent a lot of money and time on a new saddle and new boots to make my legs not hurt, when changing my stirrups was all I needed to do."

ALMOST Perfect...
I have had these stirrups for a year and a half now. After ten hours of riding in them at a recent endurance ride, my feet would eventually lose some sensation... feel that a closed-cell foam pad on them might help. Need to addess this before the next endurance ride - hopefully the Cashel foam pads will fit these. Otherwise, they're fab for shorter (3-4 hr) conditioning rides. They've helped with my knee/ankle pain.

Love these stirrups!
I absolutely love these stirrups. I have been having ankle pain when riding in my jump saddle, and these stirrups completely solve the problem! My leg remained solid and relaxed, pain free! I tried them on my dressage saddle, also... and I really enjoyed the results. I set them on the 90 degree setting, and that paired with the super grip really allowed my leg to fall naturally around my horse. In normal stirrups, my heel tends to come up when I apply my leg. Not so with the super sports! Looks like I might need 2 pairs!

Why did I wait so long to get these!
I have always had pain, tension or stress in my ankles, knees and hips riding. I would brace in my stirrups and it would cause me to lock up. I figured why get these when I just need to stop bracing... boy was I wrong! When I rode in these stirrups it felt like my legs where feathers and I finally found alignment without brace in my body. Best most comfortable ride I have ever had! Worth every penny and so upset I didn't get them sooner and saved my ankles all the trouble they had before.
I love the wide pad (thought I wouldn't) and I love, love, love the jointed action in the stirrups. It really saves my ankles and the twisting top helps my knees and toes point straight and free.

They Work!
I've been dealing with the last two toes on my right foot going numb while riding for awhile now. I tried the stirrups, and no more numbness! And to top it off, my hips didn't hurt after my ride! I didn't rate durability since I just got them, but they seem very sturdy.

I just had to ride that day I received them in the mail & my knees, ankles felt great! It was a 2.5 hr ride. They look very well constructed, solid, but I only rode with them 3 times & didn't want to give them a 5 star durability unless I had them longer
