Just buy the stirrups!
I honestly cant recommend these irons enough. Before these, i couldn't make it through a simple hack without feeling like my ankle was rolling over and trying to break itself. I had to wrap it and wear a brace just to ride comfortably! I had read reviews saying these irons provided ankle (and bad knee!) pain, but i just couldnt commit to the price for stirrups.
Finally, i decided enough was enough and ordered them. What was i waiting for? I no longer ride with wraps, or a brace, even in an hour long over fences lesson! It is night and day. Plus they look like the classic fillis iron which is perfect being a hunter rider.
If you're holding back, stop it and order! Its worth the price a million times over.

Balanced leg.
This was my second.purchase of a set of MDC stirrups. They relieve tension on my ankle and the large footpad promotes a much more balanced and secure leg. I bought the first pair for my close contact saddle I ride huntseat in and liked them so much, I purchased a pair for my trail saddle. Love them! I didn't believe they would make that big of a difference, but did.

Love the wide foot bed!
I am buying my second pair for my other saddle because they are that good. my knee doesn't hurt when I ride anymore. The only thing you have too make sure you do is clean out the treads with a hoof pick after EVERY ride to make them last longer (in order to get the best out of them).

Great for knee pain
I bought these stirrups a few weeks ago after suffering for a while from knee pain. It was getting progressively worse and was making riding miserable. These stirrups have stopped the pain completely! In addition to that, they’re comfortable and provide a great base of support. I can now comfortably ride several
horses a day, several days a week. Definitely recommend!

Great for comfort
I bought these several weeks ago and really find them comfortable. I am better able to pick up a lost iron and I find the wide base very nice. I would not recommend riding in these and dropping your irons. They bang into your feet and create quite the bruises.

Amazingly secure!
I bought this product recently after having trouble with the dropping/picking up of my lightweight composite stirrups... I am thoroughly impressed with these wide track stirrups! The footbed is so easily retrievable! They were a perfect weight and were very comfortable with the S top!

Changed My Ride!
I bought these about a month ago after a year and a half of having the super light, black composite stirrups because I kept losing them while jumping even with a pretty solid leg position, and they were hard to get back. These MDC stirrups are just a bit heavier so they still help my knees and back feel great, but my leg feels sturdier and my foot hardly slips around now unless I lose my position. The wide foot bed is grippy and super comfortable, and the classic look makes me feel confident heading into show season; I think these will make my horse and I look way better in the hunters than the black composite ones. They are definitely expensive, but so far they're worth the splurge!

Great support
I bought these a few weeks ago. I previously had the MDC stirrups that flex in the ankle. I completely shattered my left ankle back in 2010 and haven't been able to ride in non-flex stirrups since. But these are great. The S shape at the top prevents too much torque from being placed on mybad ankle, and while my heel doesn't go down as far on the left as it did in the flex stirrups, my leg is much more secure.

Very wide footbed
I had been coveting these for a long time and finally took the plunge and bought them at the retail store about a week ago. I love the concept of the S top, and in practice it is really nice. They are high quality stirrups and I do really like them.
However, the wide footbed is so extremely wide to the point where I can't naturally keep my heels down. Prior to this I was riding in the regular Royal Riders stirrups, and I did not have this problem with their wide footbed. I have smaller feet (6.5-7) so maybe that's my problem, but when I keep my toes over the edge of the front of the MDC stirrup, less then half of the heel end of my foot is left sticking out on the other side. The anatomy of my foot in the stirrup just doesn't allow for any leverage to keep my heels down. For that reason I am going to try to return them and look for the "traditional" width version of these stirrups which I don't think SmartPak carries. Otherwise they are great stirrups!

I am in love.
Originally I wanted JINs, but cannot rationalize spending $300 for some aluminium. the HS Bow Balance are what I had been using for years, but lately I noticed they were just TOO bendy and my lower leg was all over the place. Right off the bat I loved the traditional look. Simple, but modern. Love the wide foot base. Eliminated some ankle burning I had had prior. Didnt notice any pain in my knees or back at all. Actually felt better than before. In short- I love these. Comfortable, classic, pain less. And the price point is just right

Better than traditional.
I've had these since January of this year. I've had these on the saddle when I lost my balance and fell off. So, thankful I put them. When first using them you might lose grip, because of adjusting to different stirrups. (or it was just me). I've been jumping with these and are great. I've lost grip once while cantering and it didn't take long to get a better grip. Love them.

I love these stirrups
Provides a better footbed which allows the rider to concentrate more on their riding and less on keeping a narrower tread properly positioned. Has alleviated pain I was experiencing in my ankles and shin.
