Instructions for Use:
Thoroughly clean all areas of the frog and sole using a hoof pick and a stiff brush. Use disposable gloves to apply enough product to cover the sole and sulci of the frog to a depth of 1/2 inch.
For shod horses, place hoof down in sawdust to keep hoof packing in place. For barefoot horses, cover sole with paper or plastic, then cover entire hoof with self-adhering wrap. Replace every 24-48 hours until condition improves.
For use under shoes and pads, apply product prior to nailing or gluing on pads and shoes.
Excess product may be removed with isopropyl alcohol.

Stays in well! May help?
I purchased this for my occasionally sole-sore mare. Clean the hoof well, then apply (with gloves) Magic Cushion, then pack with sawdust. I then turn her out! You'll still be picking it out of the feet 24-48 hours later (if the ground is dry)! I'm not sure she experienced any pain relief, but I do think this stuff helps keep the moisture in the foot more balanced during the dry summer, when horses are stomping flies on the hard ground. I'll continue to use if she seems sore, because, hey, I bought a bucket.

Awesome product!
Bought this product after a recommendation by both my farrier and vet for my navicular gelding. He has had periods of significant lameness and this has really helped him. I've been using it for almost a year and pack him whenever he is showing signs of soreness or we make trimming changes. We removed his shoes a couple months ago and the Magic Cushion has made the transition much easier for him. It is very sticky so I always wear gloves when applying it but baby oil will wash it right off. I usually pack a golf-ball sized scoop into his hooves, cover with vet wrap, and then wrap with duct tape and reapply if needed in a day. I prefer to keep my guy out 24/7 and I've had no problem with it staying on during turn out. When I do bring him in due to weather I always pack him to help make him more comfortable. It is a bit expensive but you get a lot of use out of it and I would say it is definitely worth the money. Recommended to anyone dealing with navicular or soreness issues.

Really works well!
I have a young mare who has some navicular changes....she had been in shoes for a few months with a new farrier. Sadly, he crippled her. We needed to pull the shoes and she was so, so uncomfortable. I purchased some Magic Cushion and have been packing her feet nightly -- she is so sound and comfortable!! I am so happy to say how wonderfully it has worked for her!

Great product
I use this while away at shows. I always feel bad because my horses go from being turned out all day to standing in a stall 24/7 for 3 days at at time. I packed my horses feet each night at horse shows and it keeps their feet from becoming sore. The only downside is that it takes at least 12 hours to dry and didn't stay in the horses foot as well as I thought it would.

Helped a puncture wound
Started using this when my mare had a small puncture wound in her hoof and it has kept away the pain and stopped any further issues. With the help of antibiotics as well she is moving fine and will be good to go in a few days. I do wish it was not so expensive though.

Recommended by my farrier
Magic Cushion hoof packing was recommended by both my farrier and my trainer to use when I had my horse's shoes pulled for the winter months. I have used it four or five times in the past two weeks and my horse is making the transition to being barefoot with minimal soreness very well. I do wish however, that the smaller 2 lb. container were available.

Best Hoof Pack
My QH was walking on eggshells, due to his feet being too tender, even walking on grass he gimped around, I bought the Magic Cushion after seeing it in H&R magazine ... Got my friends boots to try, yesterday so this morn I picked n cleaned his feet, pack them with paper on top n booted him up he literally jogged out of the barn to the turn out field, my boy was back to himself !! And I cleaned my hands easily with alcohol which is recommended on your jar, no left over residue what so ever, and I didn't use the gloves either! Thank you for giving me my horse back!!!!!

seems like good stuff
I bought this because my horse's hoof was trimmed too short, and it made her lame. It has not improved her lameness, but it gives me peace of mind that I can pack it in her hoof and put a boot on and maybe it helps her. It is extremely sticky, but not a big deal. It came right off my hands with some Goo Gone. It seems like a great product and I'm glad to have it on hand

This stuff really is 'magic' for feet. Now my go-to product for any soreness in the hoof. Wear gloves and DO NOT let any get on your horse's skin: if it sits for any length of time on skin it can cause heat and swelling up the leg, ouch! WD-40 is the only thing I've found to get this stuff off of me and my horse. Works like a charm though. A little bit goes a long way. I put MC, then a layer of shavings, then wrap when he is out or if he is in just MC and pack with shavings, so far it has stayed in (even when he pulled the wrap off in the field). Super product, just use with caution.

Great...but beware
This product is great... for the sole, but beware if any gets on the heel when wrapped it will blister!! The blistering has caused some localized swelling and my farrier knew instantly without telling him that I was using this that is was caused by Magic Cushion. As others have mentioned it is very sticky and stays on their skin for a while, so please use caution when using this product while wrapping.

Magic cushion- great concept terrible...
tried various ways to work with product hoping it would help keep hooves healthy with the drought/flood conditions of Florida. Unfortunately, very sticky- only seems to stick to coronet band and hair. Not sole of hoof. Tried many different ways to manage and none seemed to keep product where intended. The directions say to remove excess product with alcohol, yet many scrubbings and two weeks later- still adhered to hair.

Great packing material that sticks
I have never packed my horse's hooves, as it was never needed, but recently, I had to. So I got this product and it was great. I have tried a few other products, but this one is the best. Over the weekend when my horse has to sit in his stall, the packing stays tacked up in his hooves (with a thin gauze), protecting him from cracked hoof to pre-thrashy odor to impacted hooves with manure/wood chip bedding. A bit gooey, but has good component to prevent infection and soreness. You should have a disposable gloves and lay a large golf ball size ball on each of 4 hoof size 1 layer gauze, and push it up, with the gauze side away from the hoof, on the center of a cleaned hoof- it will spread into all direction when the horse puts his foot down on the shaving. Pack the end of each gauze in with hoof pick for the perfect finish.

So messy! Wouldn't recommend it...
I DREADED putting this on my horses feet every time I used it because I just knew it was going to get all over me and him and never come off. It worked alright for a 24 hour period after a show but then when it came to removal it got stuck all around his coronet band and I had to make sure I was wearing gloves at all times. One time it got so dry and stuck that I had to continuously shave the hair around my horse's hooves to get it off because nothing else worked... it took about 3 weeks to get rid of all of it.

great product, but messy
I use this packing in my farrier business and have had great success with it, especially in sore footed horses during the dry summer months. It is extremely messy, and gloves are recommended, as it leaves a residue that takes a while to wear off.

Miracle stuff
My horse had a very sore foot, grade 3 lame, and after using this for 3 days, he was completely sound. Use rubber gloves and do not get any on your skin or clothes--it will not come off.

Helps With Lameness Quickly
This product works terrific! Just be sure to use gloves when applying to clean dry feet and then wrap with duct tape and vet wrap. We used it for a lame horse and the next morning he was so much better!

Expensive and messy...
I bought this product in a panic to help with an already drained abscess right before a huge show. I'm not really sure if it helped or not, but it did end up creating a seal in the abscess cavity, allowing it to become re-infected in just two day's use. This product is very messy and tough to use on a barefoot horse. I'm not sure if I will use it again, hopefully I will have no need to. The analgesic ingredients are what first attracted my attention, but I'm not sure I could tell a difference or not. I think this is a good product to have on hand, as long as you have gloves and hoof wrapping material on hand as well. Have everything ready before you start packing the hoof though!
