As described
Was looking for a wider based stirrup but like the feel of something more substantial as opposed to the lighter weight composite ones. Can see how these could get chipped up—even with dressage but have been very careful and so far no nicks over the past 3 weeks with almost daily use. Feel that it’s easier to keep my heel down, too. Would def buy again.

LOVE these stirrups...but NOT durable
I love these stirrups. I have 3 pairs. I've had them for over a year. I got grey and there are 2 problems with them.
1. I'm a foxhunter and my stuff gets really muddy - they're IMPOSSIBLE to get clean
2. They chip...instantly, and then keep chipping.
If you care about minute details, these aren't the stirrups for you. I absolutely love them, but HATE how dirty/chipped they look every time I go out.

Secure and stable
These are very grippy and I like the wider base of support. It helps me feel more secure jumping bigger fences.

Expensive but worth it
I have always been a plain fillis stirrup iron kind of person, but over the winter my friend loaned me her jump saddle with the Lorenzini stirrups. I fell in love and had to have my own pair. I love the wide footbed and the heft of the irons (these are not super lightweight). The cheese grater pad is very grippy. In fact, make sure you take your feet out of the stirrups BEFORE you dismount.. I fell on my butt dismounting at a competition because these stirrups are so grippy that my foot didn't want to come out! The colors are great. I got navy blue to match my xc colors, and I'm thinking about a black pair for my dressage saddle.

the bests stirrups I have ever used
I have only used these stirrups for a few weeks but they are amazing. My balance is really good now and so is my position over jumps. I went on a 2 hour trail ride with them and i did not have knee pain that I normally do. I love these

Love the wide footbed!
I bought these as a Christmas present for my husband. He loves them! The wide footbed gives his leg more stability and keeps him from turning his toes out too much. I prefer these stirrups to some of the others on the market because they still have some weight to them. I don't care for the ultra light ones when you drop your stirrups and need to find them again! Other reviewers have mentioned the color chipping - his pair is red and while we have only had them a month, he's hard on his equipment and they still look great!

Stirrups stay with my feet no matter the terrain.
I love love love these stirrups. I bought one pair at Rolex Kentucky in April and tried them out and loved them so much I put them on my dressage saddle and bought two more pairs for my jumping and cross country saddles. The cheese grater style does not cut into my nice boots, just keeps my feet securely fastened. But I can easily release the stirrups also. Very nice. Very spoiled. Wouldn't do without them now.

beautiful and works well
I have wanted these stirrups for over a year and finally bought them for my birthday. Not only are they beautiful they really hold my foot in place. I also like that they are heavy. I would like to be able to buy a replace stirrup pad so I can save the graters for x country.

Grip for days!
I've had these stirrups for a few weeks now and have been really happy with how I ride with them. I tried the other stirrups from Lorenzini with the rubber grip and just didn't feel as secure in them. I will note that these stirrups are bulky, but they are comfortable and my foot stays put. Some people think they are a beautiful statement piece, not sure I agree, but they're not hideous either.

Awesome Stirrups!
If you are looking for a secure grip on your stirrups, get these! I have other cheese-grater type stirrups but these are by far superior. I expected them to be a little lighter than they are, but it is not an issue. They are gorgeous - I got the gray ones - and have not had them long enough to assess their durability from chips.

Best stirrups
I love these stirrups! Huge footbed, easy to find if you loose one riding, sturdy and secure. The tilted bed allows easy movement in your heels and knees so it puts less pressure on your body. Huge fan!

LOVE these stirrups!
I have ridden in traditional stirrup irons for over 30 years. I have short legs and was recently struggling with my balance and proper leg position in my traditional stirrups. I wasn't sure I would like something new or different, but I loved them immediately. The balance feels great. I feel more secure and stable. The slightly angled, wider foot bed is so comfortable and allows me to get a better, more correct leg position.
These irons have some weight to them which is helpful in case you need to retrieve a lost stirrup at a show.
I have read the reviews about the paint chipping. I purchased the silver so it wouldn't be as noticeable. I can live with that cosmetic issue for the security and comfort they give me. Hopefully the company will work on that issue.

Function, yes....appearance/durability.....no...
I bought these stirrups May 2014 from Smartpak, and loved riding in them. I'm not at all surprised by the positive reviews here - although they look a bit funky, they are a perfect combination of the wider footbed offered by composite stirrups, but with slightly more weight than other lighter models, so it is much easier to pick up your stirrups if you happen to lose them.
However, the finish on these stirrups is NOT durable. I have the grey version, and the paint is dinged in several places, the paint appears to be bubbling/flaking in other areas, and as someone else mentioned, there is visible rust on the Italia logos on both stirrups. This is very disappointing for a product that is this expensive, especially when I consider that I had my Royal Riders for over ten years, and they still look almost new.
So, if you don't mind them looking dinged up after a short period of time, go for it. As much as I paid for them, I expected better quality. Oh, and my saddle is always covered when it isn't on a horse, so they aren't getting abused that way.

Love these - worth every penny!!
This is our 2nd pair - have them on our dressage/trail saddle now as well as the AP/jump saddle. They really help keep the rider's leg in place and create a steady foot that translates to more clear and correct communication with the horse. These may seem a bit pricey at first but they are entirely worth the investment! LOVE these stirrups!!

LOVE
I loveeee these stirrups I changed from my HS bow balance stirrups to these and theyre so much lighter! they help keep my lower leg in place with the lesser weight and definitely help better with my heels! my right ankle has an issue with dropping down but these help aid that while the flexible stirrups didnt much because my ankles not sturdy enough to keep them down. Love the technologies in this stirrups for sure and would love another pair for hunters! You do have to be careful with the paint but nothing nail polish wont fix if you hit a little knick.

Metal Corrosion
I love riding in these stirrups... They feel great look great and offer me great balance. However the paint is wearing off and all the metal is corroding. I have even noticed rust coming from the Italia logo on the side. Very disappointed as these were not cheap. Now a days there are many other options sadly this isn't my first pick anymore.

Amazing!
I'm only 14 so these were quite the splurge but they are soooo worth it! I bought the silver so that I could use them in dressage and they are amazing. I sometimes have ankle pain and I tend to lose my normal irons but these stay in place and I can trail ride, jump or flat all day and they are really comfortable. They are also super light so that is a plus. I like how you can buy them in different colors although I only own one saddle and don't have the money or need to buy another pair (unfortunately) although if I could I would get the orange for cross country and show jumping. Everybody buy them for your selves... or for you friends because they will love you forever.

Love these stirrups!
The sense of security they give you going x-country is like no other stirrup design I've experienced and make them well worth the money to me (and I'm very cheap). My only criticism is the paint chips on the blk and colors a little too easily, so grey is actually the best color to buy :-)
