They work great but heavy and they heat up fast
These are the first clippers I've had that were "professional" and they might be my last. They are sooooo heavy, to the point where its painful to hold. I can only clip half my horse before they are BURNING hot and it takes them over 20. minutes to cool down completely. They feel like good quality but not a fan.

Love these clippers
I bought these on a whim when my clipmasters broke again. They’re so light and easy to hold, I body clipped a pony in 30 minutes without hurting my hand or over heating. Will definitely say these are my new favorite clippers !

Mixed Feelings.
These clippers cut through my draft x's heavy coat easily, but even following Lister's instructions, overheated (to a scary hot temp) within just a few minutes. So what should have been an hour clip job turned into a marathon while I waited for these to cool repeatedly. I have talked with Lister and they are suggesting returning mine to exchange for a new pair. I will update this review if the second set performs better than the first.

They work!
This is the 4th clip
Er I have purchased over the years to keep my woolly Percheron comfortable. These are the first ones that actually work. Clipping him is still a pretty big job, but the clippers went through his coat easily. I’m very happy with them.

Gamechanger for body clipping
LOVE these clippers. I have been using these for a couple years now, and I clip about 6-10 times each winter. The last few horses I've done (clipping the body, leaving legs and partial face) in under an hour. They are heavy duty yet lighter than you'd think.
A note for those who reported that they died in the first use- the first pair I bought died in the first or second use, too. I followed the oiling instruction, which said to oil the blades every 5-10 minutes. I think that is actually too much! I sent them back and Smartpak replaced (thanks SP) and I now oil them only when I hear a difference and feel like they need it. Never had a problem since.
The "fine" blades it comes with are definitely a short clip, but not crazily so. I have a couple "fine" blades and a couple "medium" blades and use both depending on what I want to do.

So far so good!
Can I say I LOVE the Lister Star body clippers I bought? My Andis have been nothing but trouble over the past years. I had the Listers recommended and after doing three trace clips today... didn’t have a hair on me! Not only did they cut like butter, but there is no blowback from a cooling fan. My Andis were a constant battle to hold them in a way the hair didn’t gust right back into my face and down my shirt into my bra. Body clipping is all of the sudden not such a dreaded experience!! I haven’t had them long enough to speak to longevity (two days ) but super happy. I do wish blades/oil was easier accessed through smartpak instead of having to buy from a different source.

Great clippers
I have two pairs of these. I clip 20-25 a season and these do really well. They do get warm quickly but they do a great job. I make sure to use R15 oil.

Excellent!
I run a small 501c3 animal rescue sanctuary in rural New Hampshire. The 23-year old Norwegian Fjord gelding who came in really needed a major body clip. I read the reviews of other brands and bought them, one at a time. To my disappointment, none of them worked. I contacted smartpak and Lister Star clippers were recommended.
These clippers are fabulous. They cut through all that hair effortlessly. I highly recommend these clippers for full body cuts. Don't waste your money on other brands.

Easy to use
Much lighter and quieter than the big blue Oster clippers, but just as heavy duty, much easier your hands and the horse. With a draft cross, full clips have to happen several times a year and these make it easier

Cuts through stubborn wool like butter!
Got these today and the new rams we got haven't been sheared probably... ever? So their wool was kinky and tough, but these clippers took care of that stubborn wool no problem. My only complaint, if I can call it that, is that the tool to clean out the blades (other end of the brush) wasn't that great and we used a knife instead. Didn't heat up too fast, maybe after 20 minutes we had to slow it down a bit. Very happy with this product.

Easy to use works great.
it's so easy to chang the blade. Works great on really thick hair horses. Much faster than the Andis agc2 that I have. Good body clipper.

Disappointed
Died 1/2 way through my 3rd horse. Followed oiling direction. Clippers are light and the blade cute close that gives a great finished look but the quality is poor :( sending back.

Loved this but had 2 motors die in less than 2 yrs
I have been through 2 pairs of these clippers and the motors died in both pairs. I take good care of the clippers- cleaning and oiling. I had a pair of Wahls previously that lasted me over 10 years. I'm really disappointed in these clippers. Tractor supply replaced the first pair.

Great Clippers!
Bought these with the intent of only using it on two horses, a couple times a year. Work great! Super efficient and easy to use and switch blades. My one drawback is they do tend to get hot rather quickly, but if you work efficiently it's not a big prob!

great clippers!
Bought these clippers for my miniature horses; their winter coats are very thick. These clippers took those wholly coats off in seconds! I think my horses actually LIKED it! Very easy to clean too....worth the money!

Not worth buying, imo.
OK, so I have Icelandics. They have to be shaved several times a year in our climate. I bought these based on the assertion that they would handle the job--well, they ran screaming after about fifteen minutes of heavy clipping. Yes, the horse was clean. They require oiling like, every 5 minutes. The blades rusted sitting in the case. WORST clippers I've ever had--went back to my thirty-year-old Stewarts and never looked back. Seriously. Cheap, lightweight plastic housing and motor that heats 10 times faster than the old Stewarts. Newer is NOT always better! I gave them away.

Great clippers!
I give these clippers 4.5 stars out 5 only because they produce a good bit of noise. However, I LOVE how they clip and how LIGHT they are. I can clip with one hand and brush away the clipped hair at the same time. Easy to care for with easy instructions. I also love how the tension knob has a "mark" on it so you know for sure how many turns to get the correct tension.

Love this!
Gave this 4 stars because I havn't had the chance to try them yet. They just arrived today, a day earlier than the delivery date said, yay! I love that it comes with a free medium blade set. Have not got the chance to try them out yet, but I have a feeling they'll get the job done of clipping my 4 show sheep. The turquoise is really pretty too! Thank you for this product and the free set of blades! Great delivery time too.

I’ve had these clippers for about 5 years. They do get hot and need to rest every five minutes or so, but they clip like a dream. Very heavy duty nd durable.

Lister Star Clippers
Started clipping my horse with my brand new Lister Star Clippers and the blades got very hot after about 4 to 5 minutes. Had to let cool for 10 minutes before I could begin again. Unfortunately, it kept happening even though I was doing everything the manual said to do. I returned the clippers to SmartPak and am waiting for a replacement. I will do another review on the replacement set after I clip another horse. Fortunately, SmartPak and their employees give fantastic customer service and are very helpful.

Wonderful clippers
These are the only clippers I've ever body clipped with, so I can't give you a comparison to other brands. However, I know many people who swear by these clippers. They're lightweight, easy to use, easy to clean, and give a good clip. This year I only did a trace clip, so I bought the medium blades elsewhere so that the difference between the unclipped and clipped parts wouldn't be so drastic. I like how it turned out, though I'm not sure that there is a huge difference between the medium and fine blades. I've used the fine blades for a full clip when I was in CA and I liked how that turned out as well. I will say that if you have an old and/or bony horse these clippers won't be able to get into the crevices on their lower legs and faces.

I finally bought my own pair of Listers after borrowing other people's clippers. They are quiet and don't seem to heat up as fast as other body clippers
