Love this fly sheet

I like these!
I think they run a little bit large. But they have really helped my horses deal with the bugs. I wish they had a belly band. But other than that, really like them.

Quality declining - donor waste your money
I’ve been buying kook coats for 5 years now. Love(d) them. This one arrived this week and I used it for the first time yesterday... one of the snaps on the leg straps was completely non-functional! I had to add a double ended snap! This kook coat also did NOT have and fleece on the whither area and no Velcro on the chest under the chest buckles. Naturally my horse comes in this morning with the chest portion of the blanket folded back and simply the buckle material on his bare chest. If I didn’t need a fly sheet for him here in Florida, I would return this immediately! Don’t waste your money on a new Kool Coat! Oh and a 78 always fit this horse(16.2 and thick) and this particular one would fit my 75 horse (15.3 and narrow) better...

Excellent Fit
These Kool coats fit perfectly, and wear well. I have 2 white horses and a bay. It keeps the sun and flies away and it actually keeps them cool underneath, since the sun can't get directly to their skin. Here in Colorado ,the sun is pretty intense and my horses are comfortable, even in 90 heat.

Love KoolCoat!
This is my 4th Kool Coat, unfortunately they aren't very durable but my horses love them and they don't slide or wear out the coat. The durability is challenged by my other horses biting and pulling on them which tears them. They always seem to last the entire season even if they aren't looking very good. Some repairs are easy to stick up. I use this Kool Coat on a black mare and it keeps her protected from the southwest sun and provides some bug protection too. - yes she has shelter too but doesn't want to stand under it when she can bite her friends over the fence instead.

Great to prevent bleaching
I bought this to help prevent bleaching of my black horse's coat and its doing a great job of that! The only negative is it is not the most durable.

fits good but doesnt hold up
I bought this about 2/3 months ago and while it fit my 17.2 hand OTTB well it did not hold up to his paddock mate. Now its full of holes and the dirt and stains wont fully wash out. The neck cover has four buckles - one metal closer to the top and three plastic. The metal strap on mine broke within the first two weeks.

Does not meet expectations for the price
Bought this about a week ago. Appeared to fit my OTTB OK. But, after wearing for a few days it is too tight in the shoulders and has started rubbing him. The neck piece flips up at the bottom when he grazes and rubs his mane. The material seems nice but, can't comment on durability.

Great Fly Sheet
My horse is one of those that manages to rip and tear everything and so far this has held up great! Including all his rolling and scratching (hence the reason for a fly sheet!) He did manage to rip the bottom flap by his chest but he has a huge bug bite between his legs so I think he might have been trying to scratch that instead. Still a great product!

Amazing sheet during hot summer days
I have two black Thoroughbreds that really do not handle the heat well, one is 25 years old and regularly deals with symptoms of heat strokes. I found these KoolCoats and read about how they are used in southern states with great success. Even though they are pricier than a cheap fly sheet I am so so happy I bought them. They fit my TBs great and every day I checked them to find they were never sweating under the sheet, even on the days it got to 90+. My one gelding got a small tear in the mesh portion of his sheet but besides that, they are holding up extremely well these past 2 months. My guys live in a pasture 24/7 with other horses so these sheets have held up to pasture mates, rolling in the dirt, itching against fences, all of that. These sheets are amazing at reflecting the sun off my dark horses while also helping to keep the flies off! My horses seem very happy in their sheets and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a way to keep their horses cool on these extremely hot days!

Good combination
I saw one at Del Mar in May and liked the idea of combining solid with mesh on the body and neck of the blanket. Also like that I can protect braids overnight in the summer with this neck piece. However: my horse wears, and I ordered, a 78" and this is quite a bit longer so the back end of the blanket gets manure on it. Yuck.
