Note: It may appear the wrap is too wide. This is because the ice packs fluff up as much as 1 to 2 inches when frozen. The outer shell is designed to stretch and then compress the ice evenly along the leg.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Marissajc from Stays colder longer than my other ice boots Before buying this I was using a regular ice boot on my horses hock... and I wish I bought this sooner. Stays colder longer, better compression and fits great so that the whole hock has contact with ice.

The ice packs have a pretty limited use life (I think it was 60 uses) and the storage requirements didn't work for me since I share a freezer with my barn mates (they should not be stacked more than 3 if I'm remembering properly). Smart Pak's excellent customer service helped me with the return and I'm looking for something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RiversMom from Great product that actually works! This is the 3rd hock ice wrap product I've tried and the first one that actually works. It's a bit klutzy to put on but I got the hang of it after a few tries. Comes with 3 malleable ice packs but I actually only need to use 2 for good coverage. They Velcro to a flap inside the wrap and then there's a stretchy outside wrap that acts as a standing bandage. I don't know how long the ice packs will last but they stay cold for a long time. When I take the wrap off, my horse's hock is cold to the touch all the way around and there's no swelling. Stays in place and I can go do other things instead of spending that time cold hosing. So glad I bought this!

I have a mare that had significant hock swelling this summer, and after trying a couple different icing options, found this boot to be the best fit and the most secure of those available. The velcro tabs even have a little stretch, which helps when the ice starts to melt a little.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Montanadeanna from Very effective product I've been using this product for 3 weeks now. I'm very satisfied with the results. I was hesitant to buy it because I read a few reviews that complained about the wrap not staying in place. I've found that if I secure the wraps tightly and keep my horse in cross ties or tied so he can't wander around a lot while the wraps are on, they stay very secure. I bought two wraps so I can save time and get both hocks done at once. I like reusing the ice packs instead of dealing with having ice on hand and melting ice cubes. The only change I would make is slightly longer Velcro strips.

I use Ice Horse tendon boots on all 4 of my horses legs after each workout and they do a great job so I decided to purchase the hock boot as well. The hock boot works but his hock does not seem to be as cold after use as I would have hoped, but I am considering purchasing a second to use on his other hock after workouts. My horse is an 18 yr old Grand Prix Oldenburg and I am trying to keep him sound. My vet recommended cold therapy and I chose Ice Horse products to help me. I can put them on while he is in cross ties then continue with the rest of my barn and grooming chores while his legs get iced. Saves me a ton of time!
