Necessary for knee trouble
I had these years ago, before the saddle they were on got stolen. I hated to shell out for them again, but I have bad knees (from years as a teen being taught poor jumping position) and was starting to really suffer as I began riding 4x/week. These have since saved me. They definitely take a little adjusting with your leathers to get right, and make sure that the Sprenger logo is facing you (I definitely put one on backwards at first!). I'll definitely purchase again, but these are frankly more expensive than my saddles, so I doubt I'll have any issues with thieves!

Love them!
I bought these, rode in them once and then immediately splurged on a second pair for my other saddle. They are wonderful!

Happy with this purchase!
Before buying I did research for months about the stirrups. I was very wary about paying this much for stirrups. After one ride I have noticed a major difference in my riding , I can use my legs ! Love love ,

Great so far!
I've ridden with these about 3 times so far, and I really like them. They definitely reduce the pressure on my knees, which is what I was looking for. Even though they're very flexible, they don't feel less supportive or stable than regular irons> I also appreciate that they hang at a better angle to the saddle, so there seems to be less torque on my knees, and I like that they're a bit lighter in weight than my ancient Fillis irons.

Was a bit sceptical, but desperate
I purchased these several months ago, replacing earlier version of Herm Sprenger jointed stirrups. I'm old, and my foot hurts after many activities, along with riding.
With these stirrups, I no longer get pain in my foot after riding.
Now if I can just get my feet to quit hurting after walking on the beach barefoot.
Sadly, hasn't improved my riding: too many years playing polocrosse.

I bought these about 2 years ago and they worked amazingly. I have horribly weak ankles and they did the trick for this long but now my ankles are getting extremely sore again and plus since i’m an eventer, when I would go through water, my foot would slip so easily so it just isn’t a good match for me anymore.

Wow - I'm pretty impressed
I bought another brand last spring to help with sore knees. Those helped but I now have sore ankles (not sure if related). I saw some reviews on this stirrup and decided to give them a try. They are a bit awkward at first but once you get used to them, they are fantastic. They move with you so you can put your leg where it needs to be (I'm a newer dressage rider) and there is no issue with keeping your leg where you want it during transitions. My last pair seemed to cause my leg to go more forward and my stirrups would be lose when trotting. With these, I haven't had any issues keeping my stirrups at the trot and they bend wonderingly with my ankle and leg. I can also point my toes strait and not make my ankles uncomfortable.
I can't speak to durability but I hope they last given the price tag.

impressive comeback!
I have been using my new stirrups for about a month and have made great strides in my riding--communicating better with my partner because I am not in severe pain. ankle fusion and age had me thinking I needed to change to trail riding only. today I feel I could canter through fields!!

Really helped my knee pain
I bought a pair a couple years ago and have used them regularly since. My knees used to crack walking down stairs and hurt all the time. When I switched over I did feel my leg position get better and in a couple months I noticed my knees mad enough less of a fuss. And now no knee pain and a constantly improving leg position.
It did take a couple months for the pain to go away but definitely worth the wait. And they still look new even the trend.

Well made, comfortable for xc
I ended up being in the market for a new pair of stirrups when I decided to replace my standard dressage stirrups with the MDCs I used on my jump saddle. I like the swivel and bend of the MDCs but found the grit and water of xc riding made them a little hard to rotate after a few years and also wanted to try a wider foot bed. However, I wanted to stick with a weightier iron as opposed to the super light titanium stirrups that are gaining popularity. The Herm Sprenger Bow Balance satisfied all my criteria as being solid, well built, and comfortable.

I have used the MDC stirrups and I have to say that these work better for me than even those do...and I love the MDC's! My foot positioning is improved and NO PAIN! These are superb quality irons. They are not overly heavy and the wide platform is wonderful. Try these!!!!!

Remarkable!!!
I bought these over two years ago and I love them! I have massive damage to my knee (from a freak riding accident) and my knee NEVER hurts when I ride. I also have a week ankle, which would turn out when riding---not with these! I fix hunt and for three plus hours and gallop cross country and they are wonderful! Worth every penny!

Great for Knees
I bought these stirrups to help with some knee pain I was having with traditional stirrups and they are amazing. I have two reconstructed knees and these make them feel so much better after riding.

Excellent shock absorption
These are wonderful for sore joints. Usually my knees and ankles are on fire after a ride but they no longer are in these! They do have a bit of a learning curve though; I'm used to composite stirrups that were very light and these are like brick heavy so when I have a loose ankle I tend to lose them easier, and then catching them with my foot again is interesting because I'm used to having to find my stirrup and these are naturally in the correct position. If you want something a bit more familiar, get the ones that aren't offset. If you need help with your joints and positioning, get these but expect some getting used to with the shape and weight. Overall I love them, they just weren't what I was expecting.

Best Stirrups Ever
My Trainor introduced me to the Herm Spencer Bow Balance Stirrups years ago on her saddle. I loved the way they move with me and confront factor my aging joints. I had to get my own for my saddle.

Perfect!
Recently purchased after researching stirrups for hours. Previous stirrups were uncomfortable and my knees had a slight discomfort after training and trail rides. I LOVE the HS stirrups...great support and cushion for feet, have not lost a stirrup in training class or riding yet, much easier to keep knees and body in proper alignment. Like I said, I love them!

Excellent Design!!! Hands-Down!
I had recently tried several other types of modern stirrups. All went back as they just did not seem any better than the straight traditional stirrup. I almost did not try these, but I am glad I did. I think the best complement of a design is when they just seem natural and you don't need to think about it. Well these are them! You will have to pry my cold dead hands off them to get me to stop using them. Not to heavy, but not too light, not to tall in construction. Best two features are 1) the offset is perfect and 2) the movement of the foot bet is not too floppy, but not overly stiff. Very nicely balanced. Best product I have tried in a long time. Believe me I am a picky customer. They are expensive put well worth the price.

These are AMAZING!
i bought these used, as the price is outrageous, but they are incredible! I immediately felt a difference in my joints and position. I was pretty skeptical about these being different than my knock off jointed stirrups, but was pleasantly surprised! I was less sore and just felt better. Worth their price for me!

Therapeutic
Just purchased a second pair of these amazingly comfortable stirrups for my new trail saddle. Bought the first pair 8 years ago for my dressage saddle. After suffering a traumatic calcaneus (heel) fracture which left me with limited range of motion along with pain, I was delighted to experience great relief both during and after the ride. I was recently reminded of how therapeutic these were after riding a friend's horse with all of her own gear which did not have bow balance stirrups. I dismounted with apparent lameness and she immediately inquired about it. I smiled upon realization and promptly purchase my next pair for my new trail saddle that would arrive any day.

Love these irons!
After struggling with a problematic left leg (PT says I have "weird bio-mechanics)-- tendonitis in the top of my foot, sore ankle, patellar tendonitis and IT band syndrome--I was ready to try something new after a sore summer of riding that culminated in blowing the left iron during a less-than-stellar attempt by my boy over a fence (he is learning to jump) and my subsequently landing in the dirt. My trainer sneakily called Santa Claus (aka Mom and Dad) and I have had much happier rides since Christmas. My left leg stays much quieter because my ankle isn't fatigued and I LOVE the wide grippy footbed on them. I honestly don't think I would have eaten dirt if I had been using these irons! A word of warning though--I agree with both my trainers that these are not good for beginners. You have to have a leg first as these are much lighter and have a lot more flexion in all directions than standard irons. You have to know where to put your leg first as these do not help you with it.
