Lovely font and nameplate
I am pleased with this brass halter nameplate. I chose the Imprint MT Shadow and it turned out really nice....it is just a little hard to see a few feet away though. I wish that there was a proof of the actual font in the lettering you choose. I will buy this again. So far it has held up to Florida heat and humidity but it haven’t gone through the tough summer yet.

I bought a name plate to add to a leather halter I found. It looks great together. I love how I could match the nickel plate with the silver on the halter itself. Compliments my horse wonderful and a great birthday present also! It was super easy to mount on my own halter.

Order the name plate and holder separately
About a year ago I bought a new halter with the name plate attached and the nameplate is already completely corroded. The corrosion started after about four months of use and has just been getting worse. The same thing happened to the last halter/nameplate combo I bought but at the time I figured it was more due to the type of font used. So when I reordered the name plate I switch to the standard Easy-to-Read font (helvetica I believe) and didn't have that issue at all. That nameplate is now about two years old and has no sign of corrosion.
I don't know if there's something with their process ascending halters with name plates attached that makes the name plate more likely to corrode but if I order another something from SmartPak I'm definitely not ordering a name site at same time since this is the second one that's happened to. I will give order a name plate in general another chance since the one I ordered as a replacement it's still in great condition.

I loved this for a while...
I bought this a bit ago and I really loved it until I actually started using it. I’m very careful with my tack and things and I place a lot of value in the style & coordination of my barn area. Sadly this did not last as all. It just scratches too easily and I made the mistake of choosing a font that is quite difficult to see in most lights. It’s a beautiful font though....

I ordered this to just put on my horses standard nylon halter. I used a drill and it worked really well, its been about a year since I've had it on the halter and its still going strong! However, it does seem to tarnish, but its expected with the outside elements.

Looks great!
This looks really good! I love that it included extra fastening hardware since I dropped and lost one of the screws while trying to put in it. The one issue was it was a little tricky to put in myself and I ended up using a leather punch, hammer and nail, and thick screw to get it in. Could've just been my halter though since it's a padded one, but in the future I would have just ordered it with a Smartpak halter since that's more convenient.

Awesome!
When I got it, it looked exactly how I wanted it to. The only “problem” that I found with this was that one of the screws wouldn’t tighten in all the way. However, when I contacted Smartpak, they got this issue resolved quickly for me and are sending me some replacement screws. Thanks, Smartpak!!

Very elegant!
I just purchased this halter plate to put on a new leather halter I had gotten my horse as part of his “Christmas present”. It turned out beautiful! The letter size is a lot bigger than I anticipated since I did two lines. Very easy to read even from a distance. Love it! It’s seems to be nice quality, so I’m hoping it holds up nicely to daily use and weathering. I’m going to order another for my old retired lease horse! They send you two sets of screws...I used the smallest set for this triple stitched halter, the longer set would be perfect for a padded leather halter. Nice to have the option of both screw lengths!
