Does it’s job
I was super skeptical about this product. I was giving the mare I’m leasing rubs from just my boot, and wasn’t convinced that the belly band itself wouldn’t rub just as much as my boot. But, I was wrong. It worked SO WELL. Worth every penny. Both the OS and the horse size worked well for the Large TB mare, but large size did fit better. Easy to clean, easy to store. So glad I bought it.

Really works!
I purchased this hoping it would cure spur rubs and they cleared up in 4 days! I got the horse size and it’s a little tight on my large warmblood but it’s elastic and worked out!

Easy to use, works great
I love it! It’s easy to put on and it stays in place during rides. It protects against spur rubs (obviously) and is incredibly easy to wash! The straps on the side are really long, but they can be cut depending on how long you want them. Would definitely recommend over the spur rub saddle pads!

Easy to clean, effective
This is the perfect solution to dealing with rubs. I use it all the time and it’s easy to clean if it gets dirty. Seems to me moisture wicking too! It’s kind of a pain to put on but it’s worth it

A little big for our medium pony
I bought this for my daughter and her medium pony in the cob size to prevent spur rubs. The band works great for its purpose and fits well enough. The Velcro straps that hold it onto the girth are loose and we tuck them in to look a little better. Overall, it's simply a little big for him, but we're making it work and it doesn't seem to be rubbing him wrong anywhere as of yet. Wish they made a smaller pony size.

Great product for preventing spur rubs!
I bought this a few weeks ago and it fit my horse nicely. I read that the pieces that connect to the saddle would not reach the saddle but I slid the clip straps as long as they would go and it works great!

Love This BellyBand!
Purchased this for my daughter's mare who had rub on both sides of her for her boots. At a previous reviewer's suggestion I bought the oversized for her. She wears a 52" girth. It works perfectly and my daughter is able to get it on her no problem. I definitely recommend!! Her sides are healing nicely and her hair is coming back.

Seems to be quality
I bought this after seeing them used at the Spruce Meadows Masters last month, and I hate that my horse shows hair rubs from my legs in the winter. This is a new product and i thought why not try it? It's true when they say it must be stretched a lot! My horse is 16.3 and the oversized was barely big enough but I'm hoping it will continue to stretch. My horse didn't mind it all. The instructions say to have it right behind the girth but I think there's room for adjustment. Also the girth straps have lots of room! Overall nice product - I'll see over time if it does the job to protect.

no spur rubs but flawed design
While this does keep spurt runs from happening on the horse the design could be better. The fit around the horses belly was great and the clips to attach it to the saddle are great, they keep it from sliding back. However the Velcro strips are not as shown in this picture. In the photo it lookalike there is just enough extra room on the thin side strips to fit a girth. In reality these side strips which go over the girth and keep the band from slipping around are so long that even after putting the girth on there is at least three extra inches of strip which either leaves a pokey Velcro sticking your horse in the side behind the band or has two inch loops in front of the band and the girth making the function of these strips (to keep the saddle in place) totally non functional. I would just cut off the extra except that it looks like the strips would fray apart of cut. In short it is a great idea with poor execution

Works great!
I've used this a number of times to jump in, including cross country and it has prevented any new rubs and is allowing her hair to recover. It stays put, fits well, and my horse doean't mind it at all. It's nice and thin so that it doesn't change the feel much. So far I have just rinsed it off in a bucket and hung to dry. It dries quickly. I absolutely recommend this to anyone who has a horse prone to spur rubs. It does take a couple more minutes to get everything tucked where it belongs, but it is not difficult. I bought the horse size for my 16h TB mare and it fits perfectly. I did have a friend help me to stretch it out once before I used it.

Seems like a good investment
I just bought one of these for my lazy grey horse who is body clipped basically year-round and therefore get spur rubs easily. I was worried that it might not fit, because so many of the reviews said it runs small, but I did not have a problem. For reference, my horse wears a 54" girth and has a very large barrel and the oversize fit him fine. I think maybe some people just don't pull hard enough to stretch it out when first putting it on. My horse didn't seem to mind wearing it at all so I guess he must have found it to be pretty comfortable. It is definitely pricey but does seems to be very well-designed and well-made (like everything equifit!) and seems like it should hold up to heavy use. If you have horse that gets spur rubs easily it is a wise investment.

Really Effective!
I bought this about a month ago to prevent my 11 year old, 16hh grey TB gelding's spur rubs from getting worse; the hair on a small spot on both of his sides just behind the girth was being rubbed away by my heel (I only wear spurs 2-3 times per week max), and since his coat got a bit dry over the winter, they were getting nearly down to the skin quickly. I bought the belly band, and already the hair is starting to grow back! I use it for the majority of my rides during the week (both with and without wearing spurs). He tolerates it well, and seems very comfortable during our ride with it on. I bought the "horse" size for him after measuring him around where the band would sit and then compared it to the measurements they provide in the product description. It fit perfectly when it got here and I really love it so far! People at the barn comment on it all the time, and I'm happy to point out the disappearing rub spots when they ask if it actually helps!

Great Item!
I have a Thoroughbred with a very sensitive skin, my winter boots leave rubs on his sides. I was initially very skeptical about the bellyband, I was also worried that it would be too small (per many reviews). My horse wears 46" girth. I ordered the "regular" size bellyband. When it arrived, I wrapped it around my horse's belly and was horrified seeing that it was too short (by a foot!). But this band works like medical band, it is meant to stretch, it must be stretched like elastic bandage in order to fit properly. Do not try to secure it on the belly of the horse, it is very difficult to do for one person, at least until it stretches . I secured it on the side of the belly, then slid it down, so the velcro was in the lowest part, where it belongs. I used it under the saddle pad and over the pad the next day, since I did not want it to sit on horse's back. The band attaches to the girth and to the saddle D rings, so it does not slip. I used it about 5 times now, it actually stretched a bit. The band has two size options, so it can be adjusted with time. I have not washed it yet. I hope this review helps.

Oversize was still too small
I was really looking forward to trying this product for my guy, as his winter coat is very brittle. Unfortunately even the oversize was about a foot too small for him! He is only 17 hh and about 1200 lbs, so it's not like he's a draft horse or anything. I hope Equifit makes a larger size one day.

Must need for sensitive horses!
I just purchased another horse a month ago and the very first time I rode him in spurs he got rubbed. That same night, I went home and instantly ordered him the Equifit Belly Band. It has been fantastic to use and has helped keep my horse from getting anymore rub marks on his barrel. The only things I will say are that I have not actually washed it yet so I do not know how it will hold up, and two, it is difficult to get on by yourself to make it sit flat and be snug enough not to move. Even with those things, must need for thin-skinned and sensitive horses!

Good solution
I don't use spurs with my horse, but his winter coat is incredibly fragile as it grows in and I like to prevent breakage and irritation from my leg. This product is definitely more expensive that the Smart Pak saddle pad with spur flaps that I had been using previously, but it's lower profile and makes it feel as if there is almost nothing between you and the horse. Also it is not slippery at all under my leg (might even give a little bit of "extra grip"). It also does not slip at all under my saddle between the grippy fabric material and all the attachments. I've been using it over a baby pad to keep it cleaner longer because it's hand wash/ hang dry (hard in winter). My horse didn't react at all to having a giant elastic thing velcroed around him, but another horse we tried it on took a second to settle trying to figure out what we had just done to him. The directions instruct you to put it as far back as you can and I have a shoulder relief girth so this ends up putting the band in a place a horse isn't used to having restriction so that might be something to consider if you have a very sensitive horse.
Also to note, my horse takes a size 54 girth and is horse sized in everything, but the horse size ended up being just a little too small and I had to exchange for oversize (of course with SmartPak's great exchange policy this was incredibly easy). The flap set up makes it easy to make it smaller, but it's impossible to get the two sides to meet up if it's too small, so I would err on the side of bigger if you think your horse is between sizes.
