Nice hardy boot
I bought these boots a few weeks ago. I'm a barn manager for a small barn and wear them almost every day. They come out of the box very very stiff. Now, let me say that I don't consider this a bad thing necessarily, in my experience if they come out of the box feeling like butter then they don't last me more and 6 months. So I've spent the last few weeks trying to break them in. It's been a rough go of it but I've finally got a very comfortable pair of boots. I gave these 4 stars for this reason. They take a Ile to break in but in my opinion it's worth it. A few tips on getting them to soften up: clean then and condition then right out of the box, bend the heels down and side to side and condition them after every use. This goes a long way. The heel seemed to be the most problem spot and I had blisters for the first week. Second, wear them as much as you can. That wasn't long the fist few days but I've since stood all day at a horse show in them. If you're looking for a nice boot that will hold up I think this is a good pair if you are willing to put in the work to break the in. If you're looking for something that's super soft right out of the box, this is not the shoe for you.

Runs small
This seemed like an ok boot for the price point, but I'd say it runs at least a half size small. I returned it.

Great everyday boot
This boot is a great everyday walk around and work boot for me. It gives me support and stability. It is made well and for the price is what I expected.

Sturdy boot
I bought the Eliza paddock boots about a month ago and originally got them in the 11 bec I have a 10 1/2 foot. Unfortunately, as with so many other shoes/boots, when I size up the dimensions become enormous, such as the ankle width and the area above the arch/toe. I returned them and got the size 10, and while they're just a little snug, I'm much happier with the fit, and I figure they'll stretch a little to accommodate the length. They were pretty comfortable right off the bat with about a day's break in period. I was even able to walk around a bit in them without discomfort. They seem very sturdy and well-made, but I suppose only time will tell. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is just bec SmartPak doesn't offer the 10 1/2 in these, and I feel like their shipping on the whole is slow compared to all the companies out there, Covid crisis notwithstanding. But overall I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend these boots.

Love the boots but the zipper broke last night
I am so sad. I love these. I bought them in October but the zipper broke during my lesson last night. I honestly have ridden in them much either between my horse being off from October -February and COVID.

extremely stiff
These boots may be comfortable in the future. But they certainly are not now. They fit well, but are so stiff that when I push my heel down in the stirrup, the boot squeezes my heel and is absolutely uncomfortable. I was looking for a well-made economical boot. I am keeping these and will hope they eventually break in. But why make them so darn uncomfortable???

Comfortable and durable
I bought the winter version of these last fall, and they were soooo awesome that I wanted to keep wearing them thru the spring and summer. Unfortunately, they were too warm, so I bought this non-insulated version. They are comfortable, and I was TOUGH on the winter ones (rode multiple horses every day, kicked dirt and ice, the usual barn stuff!) which still look new, so hopefully these will prove to be as durable. Wore them for the first time in the rain yesterday and the water beaded up on the boot, so they are water resistant as well. If you want comfort without the high price of Ariats (which always wear out within a year for me), I highly recommend!

Great, durable starter boot.
I needed a pair of cheap basic boots for lessons and barn chores and these are perfect. They're a little stiff at first, but broke in pretty quickly and fit great now. They've stood up great to mucking stalls, getting horses out of muddy turnouts and hours of riding and walking around the barn. They're nothing fancy, but they clean up nicely and get the job done. I wouldn't reccomend them to people with high arches/instep though, they do fit snug along there, but it hasn't been a problem for me.

I’ve ridden in these about 3 times a week since purchasing and they’ve held up great and are extremely comfortable. Good quality.

Disappointed
Everything I have ever bought with the Smartpak name has been great. I bought these boots and they were “ok”. When I’m in need of boots, the old ones are stretched, ripped, and screaming to go in the garbage, so all new ones feel odd for a few days. These boots started to break in, but the footbed in them wasn’t kind to my feet. If I stood in the barn in them all day, my feet were very sore by the end of the day. I returned them.

Decent boot for the price point.
I bought these to replace my falling apart (3 yr old) Ariats. I’ve been happy with all the Smartpak products in the past, so I decided to give these a try. I’ve ridden in them about 4 times so far. They seem to be taking a little bit longer to break in around my ankle than expected. But they fit my foot well and seem supportive.

Lovely boots! But beware if you have high insteps
I loved these boots as soon as I pulled them out of the box! High-quality construction, lovely leather with just the right amount of support and give, and a great value. HOWEVER, I was super disappointed when I slipped them on and couldn't zip them up. Though I have wider feet with a high instep, I haven't had this happen before -- so be careful if your feet might be shaped like mine! I'm not sure whether sizing up will help, as they were the right length for my foot.
