Light weight, runs small, easily rubbed off
I bought this for my very picky mare to try in the pasture. I figured since it was lightweight that she might tolerate it more. She removed it in her stall the first night and by the second day it was gone. Now it has been laid to rest somewhere in the wilderness of her pasture. Haven't found it yet.
It would work well as advertised for use while riding. Doesn't seem to interfere with the bridle, but fit was an issue for me and the mask came too close to the eyes for comfort. Going up a size would make it a breeze for my mare to pull off, so overall not a good option for us for use unattended.

Exactly what I was looking for!
This is the PERFECT mask to use over a bridle when it is buggy out. My guy cannot stand bugs. This mask is super lightweight yet seems very sturdy. No more head tossing when we ride in this. Love it!

Our favorite fly mask
I have been using these on my horse for the last year or so as a 24/7 turnout flymask. They stay on and prevent his very pink nose from getting sunburned as well as keep those nasty little gnats away from his eyes. I like the fact that the finer mesh on these provides better visibility for him than some of the other options. My horse seems to like them too - he lowers his head right down to get it on. Through all the wear time and getting washed regularly they have held up very well.

Great visibility.
I love how my horse can see clearly through this mask and he looks handsome. The only problem is the long nose band. He gets it filthy, especially when he drinks from his water bucket. Since it’s black it attracts dust and dirt and I have to constantly wash it.

Lightweight and comfortable
I own several of these for tail riding or even arena work. I used the mask a lot when I lived at 7000 feet in Colorado and wanted protection from the sun for my grey TB. The only downside is that the mask runs small. Go up one size for a better fit.

Runs small
I bought this for my elderly Arabian mare. The material is light and airy. However I bought the Arabian size because that normally fits her and my two quarter horses but it was waaayyy too small. I am hoping to exchange it for a "horse" size..

Love love love this fly mask
I bought this fly mask as a second try to finding one that my 3 horses would like. The previous fly masks were very heavy and they hated them. This one is exactly what I was hoping for. I had them personalized and they look great. The fit on all 3 horses is great. The Velcro is very strong. The mask is very light in weight and my one concern is that possibly it won't last that long because I use them for turnout. They seem to be well-constructed, however, and I'm willing to take the chance because I'm so please with them otherwise. And my horses like them!

Lightweight
The flies were especially bad this season. I bought this mask even though it was designed for riding and used it for turnout. My horses are out 24/7 except in nasty weather and it's still in like new condition. Going to purchase for all my horses, the nose protection is the best and it doesn't rub!!

Really like this mask!
The face flies have been terrible this year, so I bought this fly mask for both riding and pasturing one of my horses. I haven't had the time to ride her yet, but the mask has worked great at pasture. At first, she didn't like the long nose feature, but now she appreciates the additional fly protection.

Anything without ears is a waste of money. The gnats eat their ears alive to the point where they are crusty and bloody! Get the fly masks WITH ears!

Great Fly Mask
I originally bought this mask for trail riding but ended up using it for turnout as my horse developed a runny eye and I did not want the flies to aggravate it anymore than it already was. My horse has never used a fly mask before and I was a little apprehensive about leaving it on him for the day while I was at work. Well, It works great! I now put the fly mask on daily for turn out. Keeps the flies out of his eyes and the long nose piece helps to keep the sun off his pink nose. He can see perfectly out of it too!

very nice product
Fits my little Rocky Mountain mare nicely. Haven't had it long enough to fairly rate the durability, but other products by this company in this fabric have been very durable.

The only mask to put on your horse.
I have bought and tried a lot of fly masks threw out the years but this is the ultimate fly mask for my horse. He can see so much better and being light weight he doesn't even know he has it on. Makes my horse look Regal, he stands out above all of the other horses in the pastures.Do your horse a huge favor and get him or her one of these masks. Also they are very easy to keep clean. Great for trail rides too.

Works great!
I have used the Quiet Ride mask 4 times now on 2 different horses. It really made a difference keeping the flies and other flying critters off their faces and noses. It is well made, very sheer so there is no problem seeing out of it, and goes right over the bridle. I meant to get the mask with ears (the picture shows with ears even though the description says without - I didn't notice because I was looking at the picture) but so far I think it works great!

Love this mask
Boy ! why didn't i get this along time ago. This mask is just what my mare needed for a "quiet ride". Instead of throwing her head around because she is bombed by flies now she can concentrate on "ME" . there is that space just under her nose that sometimes the flies come up and under and can still get into her nostrils but I have to say she is so much better with this mask. It's definitely worth the money. I also added some "Bling" to the brow band area of the mask so she can remind all the world that she is still a princess.

Quiet ride fly mask
The name says it all. Especially this time of year in central California the flies are many and aggressive. this mask keeps my horses from throwing their heads around to get rid of swarms on their faces. DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT! this one I keep at home and I have another I keep in the trailer that has lasted for a few years.

Hard to find fly masks where YOU can see your horses eyes, and they are not covered up - good product, and works great for our needs.

easy on but easy off too
Love this mask for riding or for turn out. I does come off easily in turnout unless it's under the halter. I have had to find it in the field several times. It's also not as 'clear' as it looks, even accounting for the light horse in the picture.

Great fit and lightweight
The crusader masks are great as they are lightweight and easy to just hose off when they get dirty and dry very quickly. Although durability wise they do tend to rip easily (due to being so light) but overall I only use this brand of fly mask as I have tried several others and feel this brand offers overall better quality and comfort.

LOVE Crusader
I love these products! I bought this to try as my mare has to stand long periods for iceing, wrapping, etc for tendon injury. She is high strung and was nervous with the regular Crusader fly mask on (while in the dim barn so tried this). I now use it on which ever horse I have tied up. They seem to love it and just totally relax while grooming, saddleing, or what ever. I have not tried it while riding so can't comment on that. They are a bit $$ but worth it! Especially the regular long nose style which I have used for years!

Great Masks!
I ordered 2 of the long nose without ears, one for my half-arab gelding (14.3hh) and one for my quarter-pony mare(13.3hh), both with their names embroidered. I LOVED that option; no one can walk off with these masks! I am using them as turnout fly masks, not for riding, and they are holding up fantastically in the pasture so far (but its only been a week or so). I ordered the "Arab" size, and they fit great. I did need to trim the extra velcro off a tad, but I tend to do that on all my masks. I love the fine mesh and light weight of these masks, and the long nose feature keeps my gelding's muzzle out of the FL sun, and does not interfere with grazing. I also love that these masks have a forelock hole. A little pricey, but worth the money in my opinion. A friend liked them so much she ran to the feed store and bought one (I told her to order from SmartPak but she didn't want to wait!). I will be buying again when this set wears out- I only hope that they will continue to hold up out in the pasture as well as they have so far. Great product, love the embroidery option!!!!

This works just as advertised, stops the head shaking from the trail flies while screening a little sun on the pink nose spot! Fits perfectly over her bridle. Next summer I'll get one with ears.

This is a great product, I do give it 5 stars. My older horse has a problem with his vision and he hated his regular fly mask, with Quiet Ride no struggles from him when I go to put it on.

good but gets dirty
I like this fly mask BUT the muzzle area becomes very dirty if worn daily...it is easy to clean with the hose but is does seem to become dirty quickly. Overall my horses love it as they always seem to be twitching the flies off of their muzzle and now they seem more comfortable.

Great Fly Protection
The mask fits great and has been wonderful not to be bothered by flies on his face as we trail ride. Only disappointment is that the entire mask I received is black including the mesh, instead of clear over the eyes and nose as in the picture, so he looks "faceless", like he is wearing a hood over his head.
