Helped my horse with those itchy bug bites
A friend at the barn suggested this for my horse's many little bug bites on his stomach. His belly was so itchy. I bought this powder and put it on for a few days and the bug bites slowly began to go away and he was more comfortable. I just put it on every day now. I also began to use it on his hind legs that get a little sticky and it has helped dry them up. He had two bug bites on his cheek one day and I put it on both of them and the next day they were drying up. It has been such a wet and hot Summer with lots of rain and in the heat ,more bathing, this has really helped his skin.

It works!
My pony is very itchy and rubs his tail, especially when it's hot. He was vetted and given meds, but nothing worked. I decided to try this product, and I have to say that it works. He still rubs from time to time, but nothing like before.

Has become our FAVE stuff!
This powder has become a staple in our barn. Helps dry a sweaty horse - can put under saddle pad before a ride on a hot day. Fabulous at dealing with rain rot - fast! Have also used on my dog to help heal a reaction he had to some metal on a collar. Definitely worth it!

A Must-Have for the Grooming Kit
Love this product along with the Paste for more acute issues. The Powder is always in my grooming bucket, and can be used for so many things. My mare gets sweet itch during the summer and I apply this product into the base of her mane to help prevent itching and rubbing. I've also used this on cannon crud and general skin scurf. And my other favorite use is on sweat marks - it works like a dry shampoo and helps them to dry quickly even in cooler weather.
This product is easy to apply - it comes in a baby-powder type of bottle with a shaker top. A little goes a long way which makes this a great value as well. One thing to note is that it will bleach out dark coats if used regularly, so if your horse is dark like mine you should keep that in mind before use. For me the efficacy is worth the minor inconvenience.
I highly recommend this for any horse owner, as it has so many uses that it should be a staple in every grooming kit!

Great powder
I am obsessed with this powder and recommend it to everyone. It's great to use on sweat marks, legs (fungus scratches, wet legs), itchy tails, helmets, etc. The only downside is that I ordered the refillable container (great idea!) and when it arrived the seal was broken. I think some of the powder had spilled out as well, which was a bummer as I hate to waste an ounce of it.

Great Product for Summer Heat
I bought this about a month ago for sweaty rides. When it isn't warm enough for a bath but warm enough to sweat, I put this on my mare after removing her tack. The product absorbs sweat beautifully. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that it is hard to control how it dispenses. So, some places on my bay looked "dusty" after using the powder, while others looked just fine.

Amazing for sensitive skin mare
This product does exactly what it claims. I ride in the evenings in Florida and then my girl gets turnout. I use this on her sweat instead of rinsing her down and then rolling in the dirt to make mud. I love it.

Great for mud fever/scratches and canon crud
I started using this stuff after clearing up some scratches on the back of my horses heels using the coat defense paste. Once it was cleared up, I started using this powder about every other day when I’d visit my horse as a preventative. It seems to help keep heels dry even when in contact with wet grass of mud, as my horses heals are noticeably cleaner and drier than the rest of her legs! I have also applied it to some canon crud and it cleared it up slowly. Overall, if you grab the big size, it’s such a good bang for your buck as it lasts a while, and prevention can’t hurt when it comes to horses! Smells kinda nice too and is easy to rub in!

Didn’t work
Used for 12 months, went through 3 bottles. Tried using to help an itchy tail, he was more itchy when using the powder. Used to help with sweat but any powder would have worked the same. My Horses really disliked the smell. After using it and cleaning off my hands my horse wouldn’t take the treat out of my hand as he could still smell the product (he is not a picky guy so this actually told me a lot)

Love this stuff!
This is my third purchase of the powder. My horse gets sweet itch every summer and it really helps. He has had to wear a fly mask 24 - 7 because of an ulcer on his eye. It really helps with sweating under the mask.

Only Product That Worked
My young jumper has super sensitive skin and after purchasing five different pairs of expensive boots for turnout because he was getting really bad rubs and hot spots, the only thing that stopped it was Coat Defense every day on his legs before the fluffy boots went on. I'll never go another summer without it.

Reduced skin irritation
I have only been using this product for a short time. I have been using it on my horses tail because he rubs it especially in the summer. BUT my dog has a bacterial infection involving his skin and I have used this on him with reduced scratching.

Your grooming arsenal needs this.
I’ve been using this for a couple of years now, and I love it! I put mine in a squeeze bottle for easier application. I put it on my mare’s hooves to stave off thrush, I put it on her creases on hot days to keep the drandruff-y skin at bay, I put it anywhere her halter touches in the summer, I put it in my bra in the summer, I put it in her boots. We had a gelding that had trouble with cannon crud, and I covered him in it. In short, there’s nothing that I don’t use this for. They also make a mud cream for scratches (and poison ivy on people), and a similar powder for dogs. You need all of it.

Simple to make at home.
I got this so that I could get extra help in drying my horse's coat before putting a blanket back on her. (You sprinkle it on, rub it in, and brush it out). Make no mistake. This stuff works great. I read the ingredients and it is a basically baking soda, cornstarch, and mint extract (for the pleasant smell). They claim to prevent bacterial skin issues. Here is the thing. Bacteria loves moisture. Any time you remove moisture, you prevent bacteria. You can buy it if you like, but after this bottle runs out, I will just make it.

Awesome Product
My horse has a very heavy winter coat, and although clipped under his neck and chest, he gets soaked during a lesson. Coat Defense Powder really helps dry the sweat. I wipe him down with a microfiber towel, and then go over him a second time using the Coat Defense. Love it!

A Must Have in Your Barn
Amazing! I have a gelding that lived outside during the wet season and now has some nasty rain rot on his back/hind end. Used this powder for the first time and could feel some of the scabs coming off in my hands. After just two uses, it has cleared up almost completly.

It Works!
I bought some for my daughter—her pony takes hours to dry even with superwicking cooler. She tried it and was amaze how quickly he dried off.
Then I bought some for myself for when my mare’s legs and belly

Absolutely fantastic product! I’m using this to help dry a horse around the girth after a winter ride. He prefers a leather girth but unfortunately that promotes sweating in the area but this helps dry him in no time!
