Super easy
My mare was a bit tender after pulling her shoes. When I bought her Cavallo boots I went ahead and got these gel pads just to be nice. They were super easy to size, cut, and pop in. They make a little squeaking noise when she walks but who cares. Totally worth it.

Fit was easy but durability is poor
Easy to cut & size. The gel pads are surprisingly hard, so as to therapeutic benefit I didn't see any for the horse. They don't last long. In our case, used as therapeutic with turnout in boots and lasted about a week at the longest (we tried 2 sets) I would add that if your horse gets his feet wet on the trail or pasture- these get mighty slippery inside the boot. I find boots are better off without these pads.

Great accessory to the boots!
I bought these inserts to go with my Cavallo Boots. I intend to use the inserts when trail riding or trailer to give extra support to the hoof. I like the pre etched grooves to make fitting into the boot easy.

Thin, Hard Gel Pad
Having a horse who suffers from Navicular Disease, I thought these would be a great addition to his cavallo simples. He seemed a little more comfortable with the pads in his boots, but they just weren't thick and soft enough for him. I now have a pair of ThinLine pads AND these gel pads in his boots and he is doing GREAT!! Heel first landing and resting hind legs in the paddock, I'm feeling really great about his recovery!!

Easy To Use, Too Hard In Consistency For Us
I bought these for my gelding's aging Cavallo Sports (GREAT boots), as some wear on the inside was bruising one heel. It was great that they were labeled on one side for the "Simple" boots & on the other side for the "Sports." I still had to round the heels off, but easy to cut, even with my $1 barn scissors. Definitely very sturdy.
Unfortunately, they are very very firm, even more so than a standard EVA foam pad, which I have used on the same horse in other boots with success. I would not call them 'gel,' more of a fairly firm plastic. I will be trying different types of pads instead.

Great for Fitting Issues
Bought these for a pair of Sport Boots I purchased for my gelding. The boots were still too wide for him, so I needed something to improve the fit until his heels widen. These inserts were great for making the boots fit more snug. The guidelines for trimming are for the Simple Boots, so you need to take more off of the sides of the heel for fitting into sport boots. I also bought the Cavallo pastern wraps which are fantastic.

Lasted ONE ride.....
I purchased these to put into my Cavallo Sport boots for extra cushioning. They are quite thin, fit in the boot easily once trimmed to size, and my horse seemed to like them. However, after exactly ONE ride, the heel portion of one of the pads was ripped/worn through in two places. And my horse does not have sharp edges to his feet, so I have no idea what happened. Now I am using the Easyboot comfort pads and those are holding up much better.

Hard to give a star rating
I couldn't give an accurate rating for this product because I couldn't use the pads. My horse's feet were quite sore when his shoes where removed for the winter. I got the gel pads to add to his boots, hoping it would make him more comfortable on the gravel road. However, the feel must be weird for him because he refuses to walk when the pads are in the boots. Its a great idea, just won't work for my gelding.

Cavallo Gel Pads
I have used the boots for about 5 yrs. They
come in handy to substitute for a lost show,
stone bruise etc. The gel pad gives a little
more cushion for the foot.

Somewhat effective
My mare has sore feet, so for many reasons we pulled her shoes and she is wearing Cavallo boots for part of each day. The first set of gel pads got warn through around her hoof edge in about 35 days. I ordered more and will try using two in each boot to help fill space as the boots are a tad too big.

They do the job!
My big mare has had some problems with the ligaments to her coffin joint, and after pulling her shoes for a period of rest we got some Cavalo boots and gel pads. They are great! They say on, she likes them, so far so good. I take them off each evening to dry and put them back on.

not gellin
I purchased these to use instead of another pad thinking that since they were a gel pad that they would be softer and more pliable. But they are very hard with no give and my horse hated them. I pulled them out and tried them on a different horse and he hated them too. If I would not have cut them down to fit my boots, I would have returned them. Very disappointed.

They really help
My horse's front feet had chipped and broken up badly and needed to grow out before being reshod. The Cavallo Simple boots kept him from damaging the hoof wall further, but adding the pads really kept him more comfortable - he was able to run and play without getting sore.
