Instructions for Use:
Please read carefully, both the usage and washing instructions, before using the product.

All Back on Track products should be implemented gradually. To start with, use the product for a maximum of four hours a day for the first 2-3 days. The body then has the opportunity to familiarize itself with the fabric’s effects.

The reason we recommend starting with a maximum of 4 hours use is that some people experience pain in the beginning. In horses and dogs, it manifests itself as a swelling. This is due to the increased blood circulation, which is actually a good indication that the ceramic fabric is taking effect. This initial pain or swelling can occur anywhere from a few to several hours of use. You should then cease using the product any more that day, and instead introducing it carefully and more gradually over the following days.

After the introductory period you should up the usage to a minimum of 8 hours per day, preferably more. After only an hour or so is often perceived a positive effect on tight muscles and stiff joints. More persistent problems may require several days, usually between 10-20, before the desired result is achieved.

After the introductory period of 2-3 days it is important to continue to use the product intensively at least 10, preferably 20 days, before assessing its impact. Since this ceramic fabric reflects more of the body’s heat radiation as you move, the effect is greatest if you wear the product when active. Back on Track also works when resting, even when you sleep.

Continue to use the product according to the routine you develop, or use it for two weeks and then take a break in the third week, this in order to avoid dependency. The sensitivity of this dependency varies from individual to individual. For maximum effect, the ceramic fabric should be in direct contact with the skin (if necessary, a thin cotton cloth inserted between).

Note: Caution is advised during simultaneous use with liniment or similar, since the effect is amplified. Use the product only as directed and consult a doctor if symptoms persist. Do not use during pregnancy.

Specific instructions for use on horses and dogs:

Keep in mind that the effect of Back and Track increases with movement when the body heat increases, so in addition to using pads and blankets in the stables, the horse can also be allowed to move around with the Back on Track products. Especially suitable in this context is Riding Boots, Leg Wraps, Saddle Pads, Exercise Sheets and Blanket/Sheets.

For long term problems, the horse may need to use Back on Track for an extended period. Use the product for two to three weeks and have a break one week, to see if the symptoms persist.

As a preventive measure, Back on Track can be used with regular breaks. Use Back on Track 1 day before and 2 days after exercise and then stop until the next workout. For warm-up, use 1-2 hours before and 2-4 hours after exercise.

For dogs, one often uses the standard Dog Blanket, which is rain repellent and breaths. However, it should be noted that for long-running problems, Back on Track should be used for several weeks, at least 8 hours per day, with regular breaks in order to achieve the desired results. This means that the dog can use the blanket day and night, indoor as well as outdoor, 24/7. If being used at night, it is probably more comfortable for the dog to wear the Mesh Blanket, which is more adaptable. Alternatively, the dog may be provided with a mattress with "memory foam" or a cover of Back on Track to the sleeping basket. The foam part molds to the body shape and relieves a sore back.

Back on Track products can be machine washed up to 86°F or 30°C. Use normal detergents that do not contain bleach or fabric softeners. Air dry only, do NOT tumble dry.

Note: Do not use bleach or fabric softener, or tumble dry. The product should be ironed at a maximum temperature of 122 F The ceramic powder is fused in the fibres of polyester/polypropylene and does not separate when washed. The textile loses efficiency with time and extended use.

The textile is produced in China and consists of 100% polypropylene (PP) with ceramic powder or 50% polyester with ceramic powder and 50% cotton.

Back on Track Therapeutic Exercise Boots - Hind is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unfortunately too small so I can't really rate I tried medium and large and unfortunately, there are NO WHERE big enough to fit my draft mare. Odd since their 14" quick wraps fit with room to spare. She's not THAT big. So, I had to return them. We do love the quick wraps, but can't ride in those.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm a believer! I bought these after my horse had shown some discomfort in her hind left lower limb. After a flextion and ultrasound it was confirmed her lower suspensory was enlarged. No tear or hole thank god. I bought these for their therapeutic qualities. I was a little skeptic, but after her wearing them the first time, her legs were noticeably tighter. I highly recommend this product for any horse with swelling or puffiness in their legs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good My 23 yr old Thoroughbred mare has ringbone. I'm doing everything I can think of to help her. My natural barefoot hooftrimmer suggested Back On Track boots. They seem to really be helping reduce her inflammation. Time will tell. One thing for sure is that she likes them. I put them on her at liberty. If she didn't like them, she would walk off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect Remedy My horse was experiencing interference cuts on his hind fetlock, which was the reason I purchased these boots. Since he started wearing them, we have not had any issues and he is moving beautifully in them. He wears them every day and they are holding up very well so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stay put, and keep legs cool I was really pleasantly surprised that these boots kept my gelding's legs cool, even with the ceramic infusion that is designed with heat in mind. They also stayed put (we've only done walk/trot, though, and nothing fancy as he is on a rehab regimen, hence why we need these boots!). Overall, super pleased so far! The velcro is super sticky and easy to place, but easy enough to remove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome fit! I bought this for my horse a few weeks ago and he loves them

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok, but could be better. I bought these for my 3yo ottb who has a sesamoid and attaching tendons/ligaments that need extra support and protection. I love Back on Track products, so I thought this was a 'duh' go to purchase. Despite being sized correctly and being pulled tight, they slip down, not all the way and not dangerously, but enough to make me unhappy. Also, after only being used 4 times for round pen surcingle work, I brought my boy in to find a not small hole through the entire outer layer. These boots are good in theory, I like the 360 degree protection. I wish they would make a hard boot outer/ceramic fiber inner hybrid, much like the Woof Wear smart event boots. The front boots fit better, I don't have an issue with them slipping, but I'd like to see those in a hard boot hybrid too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I love all the back on track products but with my TB I found these keep too much heat in and is causing him to get some fungus. He does much better with the BOT quick wraps that aren't so constricting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Back on track hind work boits Great boots! My mare is doing more lateral work and these protect her legs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks great--doesn't stay up! After 4 very experienced trainers (hunter/Jumper & Dressage) weren't able to get the boots to stay up properly, I had to return them. Every one I've talked to since says, "that style is not functional"--wish I'd heard that before I bought them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are great boots... I bought these for a horse that had a ligament injury a few years ago and he really likes them. I have the Back on Track wraps but I like these better t since they are so easy to get on and off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exercise Boots that know how to stay put I love every BOT product I have. The same for these boots. I decided to start with the hind boots as they are the ones I always have trouble putting on the horse - and staying where I put them. These boots stay put. They are easy to place. The velcro is extra sturdy but it still knows how to wrap around the boot. A quality product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great Back on Track producti I have a horse with long pasterns and a previous hind suspensory injury, and these boots make him move great. They provide excellent support, and are totally worth the money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seem to help horse, but could be more durable. I bought these for a horse with annular ligament issues. I think they have really helped him. However, the bottom velcro strap has an unfortunate tendency to come undone, usually if we're doing something like a turn on the forehand or haunches. He must interfere. Today he managed to un-zip then velcro and then quickly step on the dangling strap, tearing It looks fixable. The boots are maybe nine months old. On the fit, this is a LARGE horse, probably 17.3, with bone to match, and the large size fits great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits good! I bought these for my warmblood gelding who damaged the deep flexor tendon in his hind leg. The vet recommended standing wraps and hosing for 1/2 hour each day. Since I have a very busy work schedule I needed to minimize the time I was spending. I also bought the ice horse packs instead of hosing. Everything worked great! The swelling was almost gone within a week. She recommended I keep using the boots for support when he was able to start exercising. I have been keeping them on him all the time he is out or working. They don't come off. The Velcro is really tough! The only problem is the stitching came loose on one of the tabs and I had to fix it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Boots that keep on workin'! I purchased the fronts/hinds Back on Track boots to help a Tennesse Walking horse be able to cope better with arthritis in the hinds. I am very satisfied to see the boots are making a difference. I followed the directions carefully. Now, I can put the boots on the Walker about an hour before going to the round pen to work for awhile. The Walker is doing great! He needs the exercise since he is diagnosed Insulin Resistant at age 11 and possible PPID at age 13. Eventually I will purchase the Back on Track hock boots and in time the blanket. The Walker is diagnosed with arthritis in the fetlocks, hocks, possible hips and lower back. Confirmation on hips & lower back will be made with another future trip to the hospital.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from helpful product Even though the exercise boots seem to be offering support I felt they were a little lighter weight than I expected and seemed to run a little large. I understand the benefits of the ceramic threads but didn't feel that they offered much in the way of support. That being said I felt they were a little pricey for such a thin product. My horse has windpuffs that I'm hoping to offer some relief to...I wish that maybe I had used this product beforem the windpuffs had a chance to develop. I really do love the products just wish it were a bit heavier.
    Date published: 2013-06-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I purchased both the front and the hind boots. I have used them for a month. I have a 17.1 warmblood no problem with the fit, but within 2 weeks he has already torn a hole in the hind boot. He does not have shoes on the hind feet. They did protect his leg from the hit but had expected the boots to be more durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Back on Track Hind Boots Love, love, love this boot! Only problem when working on lateral work sometimes she will touch her hing legs and undo the lower strap. Solution was boot sleeve. Works great!!!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well fitting exercise boots Medium size fit my 15.3h QH just fine. He's recovered from a suspensory injury and I'm hoping these exercise boots will help keep him from re-injury. Haven't used them long enough for an excellent rating, but I'm very satisfied up to now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have several Back on Track products and think that they do help. These run large. I have a 16h2" big bodied horse and the mediums fit best. I have a large pair and they were forever coming undone. The mediums did way better. So be careful ordering.
