Poor front boots. Good hind boots
I have had these for about a year. The front boots do not come contourded correctly and this leads to the front boots rotating around the leg. I tried a smaller size and had the same problem. They have not yet contourded to my horse's leg after use. The hind boots are nice and I do not have any issue with them rotating. Overall I do not recommend this product.

Reasonable XC boots, but no tendon guard.
Reasonable XC boots for the price. Seem to be durable, but are not quite as 'cooling' as I was hoping. I was very disappointed that they did not have the polymer tendon shield per the description, just fairly thick material protection. SmartPak's great customer service established that the manufacturer has stopped making them with the tendon shield! I could have returned, but decided to keep since I couldn't find a suitable alternative at my price point.

Great turnout boots
I bought these boots for my accident-prone OTTB who knocks his front legs on seemingly everything. So far, they’ve done a great job protecting his front legs and keeping his existing wounds on his front legs clean. I know they aren’t meant for turnout, but these have worked perfectly for my horse!

Ok, but don’t stay in place
Boots are fine. I’ve been using them for about a year riding 6x week and have held up well. Stitching is still solid as is all the Velcro. They wash up nicely, too.
My one complaint is that they don’t stay in place and instead they and rotate around my horse’s legs. The pad that is supposed to be in the front of his cannon bone usually slides to the inside, or outside. It’s like the boots don’t have the “flat” shape to stay put and seem to be more round/tubular.
Oh- I wish the Velcro tabs had some elastic, that might help them stay put.

Middle of the road boot
I purchased these as my first set of XC boots. After using several brands I decided for the price to give these a try. I was using them to compete beginner novice/ Novice. After using these at a few competitions I am looking something better to replace these. the protective plates seem to be plastic and extremely stiff. I would say I purchased appropriate sizing for my horse but they never seemed to "break in" and mold around his leg. The look is nice and I really wanted to like these boots but the lack of quality is driving me to search for a new pair.

Great protection, clean look
These are a little stiff out of the package but offer great protection without too much weight. Water drains and dries pretty quickly, and these wash up well and get softer with use. Love the protective plates and velcro is sturdy - great value at the price and offer a nice clean look.
