Ariat® Women's Ascent Tall Boot is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 63.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Most comfortable boot ever, but don’t hold up These are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever had and really love them. I always choose to use these over all my other boots. But they definitely don’t hold up….I have issues with both zippers and the stretchy part in front has holes. 😒

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great boot - awful quality [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm so bummed about these boots. I bought them a years ago and love the comfort and style but needed to have the zipper repaired within the first three months. Now the other zipper is going and the top of the foot has holes. I ride 2-4 times per week and don't think it's asking too much for a pair of boots to last longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Comfortable [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love these boots. I can wear them all day. They clean up to look good and are also durable and super comfy for everyday, all day use. Lightweight enough to keep you cool in summer too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boots [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I recently broke my foot and could no longer wear my former tall boots. I needed something with a little more stretch and give to them so I could fit my swollen foot in the boot. These boots have been amazing! Fit great and no more foot pain when I’m walking around or in the saddle! Highly recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Boot for Difficult Feet I have Morton’s neuroma and plantar fasciitis, and avoid wearing heels whenever possible. For safety reasons, of course, riding boots need to have a heel. These boots do have a heel but a smaller one than other Ariat boots. It has made it so I can actually walk in these boots nearly pain free, instead of taking them off as soon as I dismount. This is revolutionary for me! They are so comfortable in and out of the saddle. I agree that the Velcro was a poor choice. I have to wear spurs to hold the Velcro in place. The spur rests are perfect though! I have had the boots for about six months and they have held up well. I’m going to buy another pair!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Super Comfy….that’s it. Treated myself to these boots for Christmas last year. Many compliments at the barn for the first month or so. I’m a riding instructor for beginners so I do a lot of walking and “trotting” with my students. Love the athletic look and foot support, BUT the mesh material on top of my foot did not hold up for long. Major design flaw in my opinion. I wore these boots once or twice a week and the holes started to appear within the 2nd month. I still wear them but it’s pretty goofy looking now that you can see my bright colored socks peeking through both feet. I love them so much otherwise and trying to get as much wear out of them as possible until I can afford another pair. Curious if there is some sort of low profile patch I can cover the holes with?!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I have worn Ariat boots for almost 25 years but was very disappointed in this boot. The ankle 'cracked' and the zip 'frayed' within 6 months. I do not use them for yard work - just put them on for riding only - have never posted a review before but will not buy this style again (although love the look)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love these boots but terrible quality First off I'll say I have purchased two pairs of the paddock boot version of these. The first the sole detached and I thought maybe a fluke so I'll buy another pair... they did last a little longer (6 months) but the sole started detaching from those as well. I also purchased the tall boot - which I love the look and feel of. I am a trainer so I ride daily. They lasted about 3 months until there was a hole on the top of the foot where the fabric is, the zipper blew out and now the sole is starting to detach as well. This is less than a year in :( I'm so disappointed. I bought them to replace my old school black and red Volants that I loved sooo much. These were a close second. Amd actually tall and narrow enough for my long skinny leg. I just wish the quality was better!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not remotely up to Ariat standards I wish I had waited to buy these until I had read some reviews. I got these at the popup store at the Kentucky 3-day event and people were swarming over these boots like mad. I wear these infrequently and my two biggest concerns are 1)these are not leather so good luck cleaning them. I resorted to tossing them in the washing machine because normal saddle soap doesn't really get them shiny and 2)like others, the zipper broke. For the price point, I'm pretty upset. I have Ariat boots that are nearly a decade own and holding up perfectly. The only thing I love about these is how lightweight they are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10/10 best boots ive ever had, they are super comfy and really easy to clean

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware - these fell apart after 5 months I bought these boots in January of this year. Though I really liked them and found them to be true to size and comfortable, they fell apart after just 5 months. I’m very disappointed because I trust SmartPak and Ariat to be better than this. And I only ride about 5 times a week so I’m not super hard on boots. Any chance I can get SmartPak credit for a new pair of boots?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wearing these for a month now. No break in period at all and are so comfortable.
Date published: 2022-06-01
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice looking and comfortable I thought I liked the half chap-version of these, but the tall boots are even better. So easy to get on, and don't need breaking in like regular tall boots. Very comfortable, again unlike most tall boots. Can walk around in them. And your feet don't hurt.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wore out SUPER fast! These boots wore out within a month. They had a hole at the front of my ankle. The piece that was supposed to protect your he back of your ankle never stayed up so sometimes lumped up or got caught in the zipper so the zipper rubbed. I will say the foot bed was super comfortable and they are very light and also breathable. Perhaps if you just ride one horse a day they would work just fine. When I first put them on I loved them as they felt like a tennis shoe with a supportive calf but they broke down almost immediately. I am a trainer and rider and work 10 horses a day so perhaps for light use they would be good. Smartpak was great about taking them back and giving me credit though!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Comfortable But Not Durable [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fit great out of the box with no break in period. But within a few weeks the fabric on the front started to rip and the zipper holders broke. I was very disappointed as Ariat always holds up well for me but not in this case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent boots I own already paddock boots from ascent line and I really love them so I knew what to expect when it comes to comfort of Ascent tall boots. These are the greater boots I ve ever had. If I could I would wear them all day through. I love the traditionnal little Ariat trick in the upper velcro preventing the zipper from falling down when closed. The compression of the calf was a bit stronger at the beginning but it softened slightly after several uses and now it s just fine and held like this. The only thing I regret is not to buy them immediatelly after its release. I hope Ariat will continue its production for longtime

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Zipper broke within 6 months I had to buy a pair of boots quickly because my Volant's had fallen apart after 2 years, so I bought the Ascents. Because it was the middle of summer, the faux leather held both heat and sweat in. Then, the zippers separated from the elastic, then broke completely. I bought these boots in August 2021, and am returning them to Dover tomorrow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice looking and comfortable I love these boots. Very true to sizing on the site and extremely comfortable. Not too sure how to clean them, but I guess that's what Google is for.
Date published: 2022-02-07
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Really bad quality The boots look cool and fit like most ariats. I ride dressage and always use ariats as barn boots. These with the Velcro back closure are a mess and they are so sock-like the drop in the ankle will be a mess these are a fail.
Date published: 2022-01-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort Most comfortable boots ever! You won’t find a more comfortable boot. I wear these all day. Like sneakers.
Date published: 2022-01-10
Rated 1 out of 5 by from New products I bought this line for its’ sporty look but the quality of your products has finished greatly.
Date published: 2021-12-20
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Super comfy but...... I bought these in May 2021 from Smartpak and starting in October 2021 the wear on these was really apparent. I ride a handful of times a week and these boots look like ive had them for 10 years. the zippers are dying, the mesh is ripping, and the zippers wont stay up. The worst? the inside part of the calf is becoming "bumpy". i think the 2 layers of material are deteriorating already on the inside so it looks like ive got really bad hives, and isnt very comfortable as now i can start to feel them! I do love that these boots have essentially no break in time but i wish the materials were more durable! Its sad to pay this much for something and have it be falling apart within a few months of light wear!
Date published: 2021-11-29
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ascent Tall Boots; Not for professionals I’ve had these for a few weeks now. I will say they are very comfortable and didn’t need break in time, but as a professional rider, they already are coming apart. The zipper also doesn’t stay up so I’m constantly having to pull them back up. The heel protector on the inside of the boot always ends up below my foot so I have to take my boot off between rides to fix that. If you only ride one horse, once or twice a week then I wouldn’t have an issue with these boots.
Date published: 2021-11-08
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money Well another Ariat fail! I bought these boots in hopes they would hold up to heat, daily use and require little care. What a waste of money. A big NO to working in the heat and in no time at all the foot bed was coming separate and falling off, another waste of my money and the final nail in the coffin for me buying their boots, of any kind! Yikes
Date published: 2021-11-01
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointment They are very comfortable, to be sure. But they are cheaply made and I am frustrated with them in every ride. The Velcro is weak and constantly pops open at the top and the zipper slides down my leg at least half a dozen times every ride. I’m constantly stopping to rezip the zipper. Very unhappy with this purchase.
Date published: 2021-10-31
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good look, didn’t last I bought these in April of this year. Wore them the first time in May since I was in a non muddy area. I can ride in them, but I cannot walk to the barn in them. They slide down to the ankle, I tried to walk through the pain but ended up with nasty blisters. I have a wide calf, so finding boots that fit has been difficult for me. These have a Velcro strip at the top, which fits with the “light” aspect of the boot. But seeing as how I have a wife calf, and these have the Velcro strap…the boot zipper never stays up while I ride. I ride 1-3 times a week and I only wear them when I’m mounted (cause, blisters). The boots also stay in a boot bag inside the house when not being worn, so not abused by any means. Tonight when I went to zip them up for my ride, the zipper separated. These boots fit me and due to the paneling on them they fit well. But for the full calved ladies I wouldn’t recommend these boots. If you have the nice slim calf look, I’m sure they will be perfect.
Date published: 2021-10-26
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a fan I switched from the regular Volant boot to this boot because of availability. This boot does not require any break in time and fits right out the box. Because of the material it makes my calf and foot super hot, and after an hour of riding my legs are soaked. The second irritating issues is that the boot makes a squeaking sound when rubbing against the girth/saddle. Makes my horse super nervous. Yes, it does give a lot of flexibility but I miss the good old leather boot and will go back to it.
Date published: 2021-10-22
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Falling Apart I wanted to love these boots. I’m allergic to leather dye and I’ve gotten horrible reactions on my legs for years during the summer in the Texas heat, and these initially seemed like the answer. Purchased in the middle of May, they were great for maybe a month, and my rash was gone! But, the neoprene very quickly got holes in it. No big deal, these aren’t my show boots. Zipper troubles came next, and I thought maybe I could get it fixed. Then the whole sole of the boot fell right off. Not to mention, don’t get them wet! They STINK. They don’t dry well on their own, and they reek of mold the second they’re wet. I’ve been a long time Ariat customer, I don’t like change. I’ve had several pairs of Ariat boots that have lasted me a long time because I take care of them. That said, the abysmal customer service (spoiler: no one ever responded to any of my emails) following a defective product that should not cost this much if it’s unusable after a few months is a big turnoff. So, this is a review for both the poorly made boots I bought, but also the lack of concern Ariat apparently has with selling overpriced subpar products.
Date published: 2021-10-01
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love them! Boots run a little big in the ankle and it took a little longer than normal for the boots to stretch in the calf. The first few rides I couldn’t close them all the way and the zipper would open mid ride. Two weeks in I can zip them all the way. I put the zipper through the holder in the back and it doesn’t open. Boots are super comfortable and easy to clean. I am giving them 4 stars because I think they could fit better in the ankle. I also feel that the foot is a little roomy but I like that for the winter. It leaves room for my feet warmers.
