Very warm and very comfortable
This boot has great arch and foot support. My first time wearing them, my legs got cold, but my feet stayed nice and warm. I do recommend wearing them for a bit before getting on your horse. I took them out of the box, and right to riding, only to stand on the mounting block and laugh at myself because the boots were still so stiff, I couldn't bend my ankles to get on my big girl. I'm going to love them once they are broken in more.

Nice boot but narrow
I've been buying Ariat paddock boots for about ten years now and this is the first time I've had any issues with width. I am hoping that with use the leather will relax and give me a little more space but it's right on the edge of being too narrow.
The ankle is very stiff and one of the boots came half unzipped while I was riding. I am hoping that as they break in this doesn't happen.
Great quality is excellent and this boot is no exception. My feet stayed warm in below freezing temps.

The most comfortable boots I've ever had
I have two pairs of these and want another pair, as mine are now old and worn. I can walk miles in these boots, in cold weather, in snow, in rain. They are highly supportive, warm, and cozy. I find them more comfortable than many more expensive boots that I own.
Buy them!

Boots
Unfortunately, these didn’t fit. As is often the case with the heavier Ariat insulated winter boots, the ankles began to bag as soon as I’d worn the boots around the house for a few hours. I was afraid they’d be way too loose after a few days’ wear at the barn. I have a size 7 foot generally, and my ankles are just too thin for these. For the record, other boots don’t fit this way, so I think it’s something specific to Ariat.

So far so good!
I bought these recently and so far they have kept me warm and dry riding indoors during the winter (I live in NS, Canada). The top of the boot is very supportive but it might be seen as a bit restricting and I can see why some people say it could rub, so just wear a thick sock and problem solve. They look great and for me have been very comfortable and true to size.

Very uncomfortable, hard to zip
These boots are extremely stiff, I've tried on the Ariat tall winter boots which were very flexible and comfortable but decided to go with shorter ones so I can ride in insulated overpants. After receiving and trying these on I decided to return and try a different model. The zipper is hard to zip, even without your foot in it and the boots are extremely stiff and as other reviewers described, ankle eaters. I love my other Ariat shoes so its probably just this design thats a problem.

This boot fit but after six months the ball of my right foot started to hurt and I could no longer wear them.

I’m very glad I got these boots! They are warm enough even below zero temps. The downside is my half chaps don’t zip over and I have a rub on the outside if my left ankle. That’ll go away but do they make the chaps that fit over these boots

Warm but not functional
I love the new walled front sole. However- I need to return. After one date, the upper padding around my ankle rubbed so badly I was bruised and limping. I’m an Ariat fan and will need to find another style for the barn AND riding.

Super warm boot!
I have owned these paddock boots for years. They keep my feet warm & toasty through the Colorado mountain winter. I highly recommend them!

Good price
They bothered the front of my legs above the ankle as quite stiff. Simply unzipped a hit until they get worked. Problem solved.

Epic failure
How can you advertise these as paddock boots? Aren’t paddock boots to be used for riding as well as chores? Not only clunky and cheap looking out of the box, but I cannot zip my 1/2 chaps down over them. I have bought 3 pair of the insulated H2O for the last 3 years and been very happy. These new boots are poorly designed, too large, and quite uncomfortable. Who did you hire in your design or accounting department who went cheap? A millennial? Quality vs quantity people. I see which way you are going and I’m not going with you. Ariat had a great start, but you are failing. Spending my money elsewhere. Thanks for the good times, and they WERE GOOD! I have spent YEARS recommending your products to anyone that would listen. Now I am embarrassed for you. You need to rehire whomever was responsible for your earlier products. They knew what they were doing. So very sad really.

Not Warm
I bought these in the middle of last year but they were out of stock. I finally received them September 2018. (I expected them to arrive then). However once weather changed (live in WI) these boots are not as warm as their predecessor. Ariat made these less bulky than their old ones but must have skimmped on insulation to do that. As the temps get down and snow piles up they are awful. I have to now put feet or toe warmers in them. I did not buy these to ride in but would if I needed to as they fit in a stirups better than the old ones but they are for barn work inside and out. I have to wear them as they were expensive. I would have returned if I hadn't worn the since September 18.

Warm boots!
I actually bought these for my daughter for Christmas last year. They have been wonderful! They keep her feet nice and warm and are still in excellent shape one year later.

Super warm and rugged
Just finishing my 3rd winter wearing a pair of these, and they are great. I wear them primarily for stable work, indoors and out, and my fitness app tells me i walk between 8 and 12 miles in them daily- they hold up really well, my feet didn't get cold or wet all winter. ( in Massachusetts) Because they are insulated, they are a little stiff in the ankle for riding. Like the other pro-style Ariat boots, they may seem pricey, but I've gotten 3 seasons out of mine, and expect to get at least one more, so they are a good investment.

Very comfortable
This is my third pair and I have loved them all but they all split along the sole. They have added rubber to that area so I am excited to see how they hold up!

Warm and dry and comfortable
Perfect boots for muddy and wet conditions. I normally wear an 81/2 but other reviews said they run small so ordered a 9 and they fit perfectly

Light and sturdy
Bought these for winter riding. First time wearing it was 10 degrees and wore two medium socks. Happy to say my foot wasn’t squeezed and more happy that after two hours my feet were still tolerably comfortable ( not toasty but was not expecting that). I like how light they are and decent tread (not great traction in slick spots). Overall I would recommend to those who get cold fast and hate riding with numb toes. These seem very well constructed so anticipating longevity. Can’t comment yet on waterproof property but expect fine performance.

I LoveThese Boots
Wore mine for 9 years before they gave out and I wear them all winter all the time. They are my go to boot when it gets too cold for sandals. Comfortable and supportive. I, also, wear them to ride in!

Love these boots
This is my third pair of these boots over an 11 year period. They are the only boot i've ever worn that REALLY keep my feet warm, even in zero type temps, and the waterproofing is excellent! I have to give a virtual high 5 to the previous smartpak reviewers who alerted me to the need to size up. I would've just ordered the size i had before, and they would've been too small. I sized up a half size and they are perfect.

Waterproof
I love these shoes I wear them all the time. My favorite for long walking, riding barn chores etc...I have an average foot and I love the support. No insoles needed.I even took them to be polish by the cobbler because I want them to last forever. Bought a second pair and they haven't worn out yet. I like the dip in the achilles tendon they don't rub on my ankle.

Look forward to wearing these but out of my size!
I purchased my usual size and it was a bit tight so I needed to exchange for a size larger. Problem is, Ariat is out of size 8.5 for the season!!!!!! I ordered a 9 in hopes that with thick socks I will be able to wear them!

Haven't ridden in them yet. Only thing I don't care for is my Ariat half chaps don't zip all the way down.

Wonderful features
I just bought these boots a month ago. It has been a very cold and rainey winter. I love how warm these boots are and I can get out in the weather and not worry about getting my feety wet. These are the best boots. Easy to clean. When I am done with the horses, I just rinse off and I am ready to go.

runs small ...
Bought this boot last year - ran very small, took months to break in to comfortable. Ordered a half size up this year - at least I could wear without "rubs" or discomfort this time.
Have bought ARIAT for many years, and never needed to size up.
Suspect the rationale being the "insulating" component. Absolutely need to keep this SIZING UP factor in mind on this particular boot

These boots are very warm and seem good regarding the waterproof aspects. But they run a bit snug all around the foot; especially from top to bottom. I think it's due to the insulation in the boot. If I could do it over, I would order them in a half size larger than my normal size for Ariat boots. After wearing them all day the inner padding does soften up and the fit isn't so tight. I'm thinking as they break in a bit more they will not fit so snug when I first put them on.

Arrived in time alloted. Just a little comment. The leather by the heal is tough. How can I soften it?? Any ideas?
