Winter staple!
Worth every penny! I wear these daily. I was pleasantly surprised that when stepping is sloshy mud up to my ankles, water did NOT get in. I thought with the laces it might. Strongly recommend

YES, you need these boots!
I didn't realize how useful these boots would be! In fact, after I ordered them, I thought, do I really need these? YES! Right out of the box they were so comfortable I immediately took a long walk in them and then wore them all day at the barn. I will say the boots run large in terms of American sizes. I wear a size 40, which Ariat labels as a size 9 US. I would advise ordering by European size.

Love these boots!
I have to be on my feet all day with my horse business and was looking for a warm boot that was comfortable enough, and warm enough, and that would allow me to hop on a horse without changing boots. The best part is: they are beautiful, and the lace front allows them to adjust wide enough for my wide calf and fleece riding breeches. Plus, they are warmer than I expected. There was NO break in time-comfy right out of the box.

These are awesome good looking comfy and best of all they adjust to fit your calf/leg perfect I have very thin legs/calfs and they actually fit good. It’s the first boot that my legs don’t swim around in a boot.

Ariat zipper pull
The only thing that would improve this great boot is a bigger tab on the zipper. One boot is tighter in the ankle area, so gripping the tiny zipper is challenging at times

Perfect on and off the horse!
I bought these boots specifically for the barn. I practically live in them. They are great for riding and doing barn chores. They even look stylish enough to go around town in my riding gear. They were comfortable right out of the box. I get lots of compliments in and out of the barn. I highly recommend them. They are worth the price. The fit was perfect and they keep my feet nice and warm. Buy them...you won't be disappointed!

Beautiful boot that everyone compliments!
I have about 5 rides in on this boot and it is an easy break-in with no trouble getting heel position out of the box. Right now it is fall weather in the 40's and the boot is too warm with wool socks on. I think it will hold up very well to the cold winter riding ahead but perhaps it is a bit too hot for summer. I've splashed through a few puddles and walked through wet grass and they have kept me dry. My only complaint is that the boot is just a hair too short for the length of my leg. I got my normal size 11 and I am 5'10"/160lb. For reference, the measurement from my heel to the bottom of my knee cap is 19" (my leg, not the boot).

Excellent Boot
I purchased this boot to act as my winter riding boot/light work boot. It has exceeded my expectations for comfort, warmth, function, and utility. I appreciate the rigidity of the shank; it provides plenty of support to reduce fatigue in my feet without compromising flexibility. No one wants to ride or work in stiff boots like ski boots or mountaineering boots. The craftsmanship is on point compared with other specialized or technical footwear. However, it seems a bit silly to make a tall boot lined with Goretex and advertise it as waterproof. Keep in mind the boot is only waterproof up to the zipper or laces. Moisture can enter the boot at any location past those points. Keep the cost down on the boot by reducing the use of Goretex liner past the ankle. Adding a cinch strap to the top of the boot would let the user close the gap around her leg to keep out debris/snow/moisture.

The boot that saved my foot!
I love these boots. They keep me warm, dry and are comfortable to wear all day.Frequently I get comments on how cool these boots are (yes, I'm one of those people who wear my riding gear everywhere, like a quick nip into the supermarket). I just bought my third pair from Smartpak because Ariat discontinued the Coniston. Another reason I love these boots is the steel shank in the footbed saved my foot from a severe crush injury when I spun out of control on an ATV pinning my foot to a tree trunk. I hope Ariat reconsiders and continues to make this versatile boot.

Great boot but zipper constantly gets stuck
For the most part, I love this boot. I usually take a full calf in ariat and my calves both fit in these and don't draw the laces apart in an unflattering way when they are fitted. I am just shy of a tall height boot usually, so I do find them rather short, but long enough to not interfere with the saddle flap. Look great, warm, and are comfortable both in the stirrups and doing chores.
Huge negative though, I often get stuck in them trying to get them off. The foot pull they placed by the top of the ankle/bottom of the zip gets stuck in the zipper. I don't know if I have a malfunctioning pair (I did get them while they were on clearance) but it gets stuck whether a leg is in them or not. Either way, don't plan to slip out of these quick. I get stuck 99% of the time and it really takes some fussing to reaching down and unclog it from the zipper. I'm considering cutting that pull piece out, it's not like its much help putting them on compared to the mess of taking them off, but for how much the boots cost I can't make myself do it yet. I would've returned them to try a different pair but I'd already worn them all day before the permanence of the zipper issue became apparent. I still like them enough to use them understanding getting out will be a dance.

Perfect winter boots for riding, etc
I've been wearing these regularly since November and I LOVE them. Unlike the Mountain Horse winter paddock boots (which feels as bulky and stiff as steel toed work boots), these were super comfortable right out of the box. I'm short -5'4" with short legs. My Tredstep half chaps are a 15" calf circumference and 16" height. These boots seemed a smidge tall, but in the saddle they're perfect and now that I've been wearing them, they've dropped a tiny bit. I don't even care if they look a little tall when I'm walking around, because they are toasty warm, waterproof and so comfortable I've worn them on multi-mile dog hikes in road and trail in snow. Also waded through streams and puddles and they've kept dry. (I hope they keep their proofness because my Ariat Heritage paddock boots are no longer waterproof after about 18 mos - though that has been with hard use.) My winter daytime temps are 30s-40s but we can have strong chilly winds; these were almost too warm on a sunny, wind-less day in the 50s. Highly recommend these boots, even if you're on the short side.

Looooooooove these boots!!!!!
My feet had been killing me and either freezing or sweating with everything else I tried.
These Ariat boots have not come off of my feet since the day they arrived. I even wore them to shovelmout the 2 feet of snow we received yesterday.
I can not rave enough - worth everyyyyy pennyyyyy!!!!

So versatile!
I'm in love with these boots! They are waterproof, easy to clean and adjustable because of the lacing in the front. Easy to put on thanks to the zipper in the back. I wear them every day in winter with warm socks an never have cold feet. But you can also wear them with normal socks in spring and fall. (haven't tried them in summer)
I would love to have a tall option! (I'm 5'11) I can manage with the height, but they would fit me even better in a tall version.
Please make a black version, I'll be the first to buy it!

These Boots Are The Only Thing I Like About Winter
Heading into my third Pennsylvania winter with these boots. I am an infrequent rider ( 1-3x per week). These boots 1.Look absolutely amazing (although I'm a 14-15 calf they're fairly big and still gap at top, I don't mind) 2. I wouldn't jump in them. But good for flat work. Need to be careful about stirrup size because these are hefty in height & width 3. My feet have never been toastier. 4. I also wear these to do short hikes with my dogs (1-4 miles) and they are comfortable enough for that plus they make you look like a BA adventurer on a Ralph Lauren safari. Seriously, these boots look absolutely awesome, are very warm, keep my feet dry in tall wet grasses, and to review, look amazing. I do wish they came in t tall because even though they are very tall for the category, as tall person I could do with a bit more height. Love these!

Poor quality for the price!
I bought these boots after returning a cheaper pair of "waterproof" Ariat boots because they were not waterproof. I assumed that that much higher price on these boots meant that they would be much higher quality than the previous boots that I purchased. Nope. These boots are beautiful, but the leather is super thin, and it is definitely NOT full grain leather! It's the cheap leather that has a coating on it to make it look like good leather. The slightest scratch goes right through that coating, and the coating has already worn off my boots. I've had them for about three months, and don't wear them very often, so they should not be showing signs of wear like they are. Also, the zippers on both boots get stuck every time I try to take them off and I have to completely unlace them to get them off. As much as I paid for these boots, I am incredibly disappointed in their quality. If you're going to buy these boots, I hope you don't plan on actually wearing them to the barn or riding in them, because they will not last!

Better than expected
I bought these to replace 13 year old Ariat insulated paddock boots. I was tired of trying to fit half chaps over bulky boots, but I have larger calves that make finding tall boots a challenge. I'm happy to report that these accommodate my 17" calves while wearing winter-weight breeches! The foot is very roomy, which is nice. The boots are not as tall as traditional "tall" boots, but I don't have an issue with them catching on my saddle flaps. I've ridden in temps right at freezing in an outdoor setting, and my feet were toasty warm and dry. I can only hope that these boots last as long as my Ariat winter paddock boots did!

Fabulous boots
A real indulgence at the price but they are fantastic boots. I work in construction as well as enjoying riding and these boots stop my back getting really sore due to cold floor & ground conditions. In summer I don't get scratched legs when walking on the paths with brambles so they really are year round boots. So stylish too!! Really comfy. I hope they last for years (my last pair of Ariat insulated boots lasted about 6 years but ended up getting brittle and cracked) So keep them adequately moistened after they've got muddy/ wet etc and they hopefully will last for yonks.
