Comfortable fit and looks good too
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm 5'5" with medium size calves and the short/small fit perfectly. Fits just right over the heritage paddock boots. No bulk around the ankle like some chaps have. The leather is soft with a light sheen so they look really nice.

Comfortable with no break in period
Incredibly comfortable out of the box. I wore these for 4+ hours in Africa without any break-in period. I tried on a lot of pairs of half chaps before deciding on these - LOVE. I do wish they were back-zip instead of side zip, but you can't have everything.

Nice chaps
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice chap, nice leather, good zipper. Doesn’t fit well around the ankle of my Ariat Terrain paddocks (I also have short calf so that likely contributes, even with short sized chaps) as the Terrains are kind of fat with padding at the ankle but the chaps work great with my Blundstone paddocks which are more streamlined at the ankle.

Hard to fit
Could not get a proper fit. Did the measurements and did not fit. then odered a size up. They fit my calf put could not close the zipper over my Ariat paddock boot . you would think it would be a complimenting fit, with both being ariat .

Great half chap, zipper does not completely close
I have had several of these half chaps. They have worked great. The only drawback in the bottom of the zipper does not close. I use them over an Ariat boot and I cannot get the zipper to close all the way down. I gets far enough to get the Velcro latch over the zipper so it works fine but it would be nice if it zipped another 2-3 inches.

I've bought Ariat half chaps for years. This is the first time buying the breeze half chaps. I was surprised at how lightweight they are--sort of like wearing a leather glove on your legs. They fit me better than usual--a bit less snug, or perhaps it's just that the leather is less stiff so that it's easier to zip. So far, I think they're super. I did refrain from 4 stars given how pricey they are for the weight (which I happen to like, but do wonder about durability).

Built to last!
I purchased these half chaps with a pair of Ariat heritage paddock boots 10 years ago at the age of 13. I still have both and wear them each ride. The chaps still fit beautifully though I need a tall now, and the boots only need polish to look nice again. I would replace them but I can’t justify it because there isn’t a stitch out of place, they still fit snug, and the zipper still works like new.

Cheap Good, Expensive Price
Found the quality of this chap poor. In particular, the elastic portion of it looked at least 3 inches wide. There should be more leather than elastic. Anything more than an inch is absurd and lazy in design.
For the price, I'd rather order custom --- I pay a bit more but the quality and fit are worth it.

This chap is so stretchy and soft that it allows me to fit a wide array of customers. Customers love it because there is little to no break in! I do recommend fitting it tight like a tall boot because of how easy they stretch so a customer might go from a large in other chaps to a medium in the Breeze.

Does not close over Ariat paddock boots
I wish I had paid more attention to another recent review that mentioned this because I experienced the exact same issue--the chap does not close over the paddock boot! We measured carefully for calf width and length and ordered an XS, but it really doesn't matter how it fits around the calf if the fit is off below the ankle (not something they provide a measurement for). We spent hours doing our research on brands and styles and thought we were making an informed decision so I am pretty irritated that I have to return these due to a design flaw. I expected better from Ariat.
