Alexus Knee Patch Breeches by SmartPak is rated 4.5714 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice breech, appropriate for showing! I bought these on sale so the value was great. The fit was great and these are super comfortable. I like the material a lot, but can't comment on durability yet as I bought them to be show breeches and have only worn them once. I bought the tan for showing, and the color is nice. They are appropriate for the A show level for hunters or jumpers. I feel that they are very similar to the trophy hunter TS breeches, but I got these for about $80 less. I prefer side zip (seems to be more flattering on my body type) but for front zip these are just as good as front zip TS breeches. Only real difference in these is that the knee patches match the tan color and the TS breeches have a dark brown knee patch on their tan breech. I with they would make a size zip version of this breech, I would definitely buy it! I found the sizing to be the same as with all the Smartpak breeches. I also wear the same size is TS trophy hunters, however the TS breeches seem to fit slightly tighter in the waist. Overall the Alexus breech is a win!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very nice breech sadly I had to return them - they were too low - if you would make them in a mid rise it would be wonderful, this breech is just as good as the TS breech but cheaper. Please make them in a mid rise

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lower-Rise Than Expected I bought these in hopes of them being comparable to my Tailored Sportsman breeches. I figured that I love the Piper Breech so much, why not give the Alexus breech a try. I received these and was super excited! They looked nice, the material felt nice, yet sturdy. However, when I tried them on they were a lot more low-rise than expected! Unfortunately, I exchanged them for a new pair of Tailored Sportsman Low-Rise breeches (which I know I love).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Schooling Breeches! These pants are excellent, they hold up way better than my TS for day in day out schooling. I ride a lot of horses every week and these pants last about 2X as long as the TS. The fabric is a little heavier than the TS but the fit and the long lasting wear make them my perfect breech!! I was able to wear the same size in these as the TS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second pair- very happy I bought a pair last fall in tan and then this spring another pair in titanium. I ride 5-7 horses a day and the fabric is wearing very well and keeps its shape. While not as silky soft as tailored sportsman it is durable and breathable. They run large- I went down one size but could have gone down two. Wish they would come out with more colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfy! Bought a pair to show in & loved them so much I bought a pair to school in. Comparable to TS. I emailed smartpak & asked if they can make them in more colors! Durable, wash well & very comfy. Would happily buy again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not true to size--nice quality otherwise I liked the quality of these breeches, but they run small, and the rise was too shallow for me. I had to return them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nicest in my closet! These breeches are LOVELY! The material feels sturdy but is totally flattering. The wide waist is a great feature and looks stylish with the slightly lower rise style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these breeches This is actually the second pair of these breeches that I have purchased. I bought the first pair earlier this year in the tan. I found through the summer that these were the breeches I reached for repeatedly. I decided to get another pair in the titanium, so that I had a pair for lessons and a pair for show. They fit well, are comfortable, and wash well. Love them!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Definitely low rise Nice breeches, flattering and look/feel like quality clothing. They are low rise though (as many other reviews have stated). They're a little lower than what I normally prefer but I don't think others would have an issue with this. Only ridden in them a couple of times at this point so I can't attest to durability.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really nice, but a couple of dealbreakers... I've been looking for an alternative to Tailored Sportsmans to show in for a while now (I don't like the Velcro ankles and the fabric that doesn't really wick, but the fit is unbeatable). For the most part, I really liked these. However, I'm sending them back for a few reasons. The good:* Fit is super from waist to knee. Length was also nice, hitting at mid-low calf.* Beautifully detailed and very sharp looking. Loved the wide waistband.* Fabric was stretchy, comfortable, super smooth, and thick enough not to show lines when you tucked a shirt in. Liked the fabric more than TS.The bad:* Unlike the Piper breeches, which fit well in the calf, the "sock fit" calf on these did not fit me at all. There was about an inch of gap that would have bunched up and been uncomfortable under socks and breeches. This is unfortunately why I'm sending them back.* This might just be my legs, but the seam of the knee patches hit right over my kneecap and rubbed uncomfortably when I walked around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these pants! I love these breeches! They are so comfortable and very flattering. I only just got them so I cannot comment on the durability but I have a feeling they are going to hold up well. I had always been a Tailored Sportsman fan but I decided to try these because I was in between sizes in TS (26-28). I tried the Alexus in a 26 and they fit great so I think they may run a little large compared to TS. I love not having Velcro on the calf. They fit much slimmer and are more comfortable with my boots on. I agree that they are a little loose in the calf but I also have tiny calves. They are not uncomfortable though and I would definitely rather have too loose than too tight! I would definitely recommend. My new favorite show pants :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! I bought these during the memorial day sale, and got quite a steal with the 10% off plus my 5% for USEF Membership! I love these breeches! They are flattering, comfortable, and good for both showing and schooling! Easily comparable to Tailored's! Great job, SmartPak!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really nice!!! This is the only pair of breeches that comes close to fitting the way TS Trophy Hunters fit. Actually, I think the material is nicer than the TS. They are very well made and have some nice decorative features that make them stand out. I loved these breeches, and I was very sad that they were just a little too low rise for me. They are about 1-2 inches lower than the TS. If SmartPak would make them in a mid rise, they would be the breeches for me. Honestly, I tried them on about 10 times - I desperately wanted them to work! I wear a 30R in TS, and the 30R in the Alexus was perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome breeches! I bought these breeches a few months ago and I now wear them everyday when I'm out at the barn. They're nice enough to be show breeches but are comfortable and sturdy enough to be your everyday breeches too. I am always iffy about buying lighter colored clothing since it usually shows dirt more clearly, but I bought these in tan and they seem to repel dirt, hair, water, etc. When the rest of my outfit is covered in all sorts of stuff my breeches still look almost pristine. Definitely would recommend these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I ordered these when they were on sale, after thinking about it for quite awhile. All of my show clothes were old and I was ready to upgrade. I didn't really like the way the TS fit and was looking for something more economical than Pikeur. These fit wonderfully and are very comfortable. I found they ran very true to size. I wear the exact same size I wear in jeans.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from QUALITY AND CUTE! I am returning this pair so that I can order the full seat version, however I was impressed with these breeches. Material was thick enough to provide support, yet flexible and comfortable. I like the thick waistband and bit of detail on the waist. I think these may run a bit large- the 28 fit me well but I think that I'm closer to a 30" in other breeches (I'm between a small and medium, 5' 8", 140 lbs) Overall I liked these and I am looking forward to the full seats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value great quality What wonderful breeches. Great value. Great quality for the price. I will definately purchase more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'm hard to fit- I'm short and have thick thighs and a small waist- these are comfortable for me to wear all day and flatter my figure where most breeches are baggy at my waist and unsightly tight over my thighs- these breeches stretch without getting skin tight and I don't have a ton of fabric rolled up around my ankles that can be so uncomfortable with other breeches- I ride multiple horses and can be filthy at the end of one ride but they look clean for the next ride just by wiping them off with my hand. I wear this pair every other day alternating with my other favorite pair of breeches and they look brand new despite the frequent washings with one exception- a small loose thread on the knee patch- the thread is not unraveling and the patch is staying intact. I got them on sale at 40% off and wish I had gotten another pair because it was a great deal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice fabric I love the fabric. They are very short though! I wish they made a long for the bigger sizes. I am 5'9" and the knee patches are all the way up my thigh. Also they are very low rise so keep that in mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New favorite breeches I purchased these as a less expensive alternative to the TS trophy hunters. I am extremely happy with them - they fit beautifully and are extremely comfortable to ride in. In fact, I loved my charcoal pair so much I purchased a second pair in tan!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great schooling breech! Bought these when all of my "lesson" breeches were worn out. Like the fit- they are very comfy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Breeches Runs a little large. I wear a size 32 in Ariats but wore a 30 in these. I purchases the Ariat Olympia breeches at the same time but kept these because I liked them better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love These! I now own 3 pairs! Love the gray, they wash up great and love the low rise. A bit pricey but they last pretty long too. I'm a tailored sportsman convert

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute I bought these on xmas sale to try a new brand at lower cost point. I wear Ariat Olympia and Pikeur Ciara and those are great.  I bought Alexus a size up for winter in case I needed to layer. They feel good and are flattering. After a wash you can tell they are not new, but they fit the same.  They are good, not great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A nice breech I like these a lot; they aren't my favorite breech but they aren't too far off.The fit of these is great for me. Snug, but not gripping and they just look really nice.I don't *love* the rise, since I think it just a smidgen too low, but it's not too bad and certainly livable. I like the wide waistband and the fact that the fabric seems to hold up well.I don't like that the fabric shows every little thing, specifically when one sweats or gets wet when bathing an equine. This is a huge turn-off for me and since I tend to sweat, and don't have any interest in anyone seeing where I sweat, these are relegated to winter breeches for me.I think they're a bit overpriced for what they are, too, but maybe that's just me... $200 for breeches requires nicer fabric, in my opinion. Like I said, I like these, and I really like the fit, but I can't really see myself getting more of them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Alexus Britch Its a well made britch, I just did not love the fit, a little too low rise, and the leg elastic was too loose.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really Confused Sizing I have a 34" waist. I ordered the 36 and 38 because I am pear shaped. I read that they fit like the Trophy Hunters, and I wear a size 36. WELL, neither fit. Couldn't get them over my hips. I had the same problem with the Bradleys. That said, I really wanted to like them. the fabric is substantial. Not as soft as Tailored Sportsman, but they ooze quality. Sending them back and sticking with TS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice surprise I admit, I am a pickeur ciera snob! Pretty much the only pants that I buy,but I decided to take a chance and ordered the "grey". I love love them. Great fit, holding up to the washing and super comfy. I highly recommend and I just ordered a pair for a friend in tan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Breeches (according to my daughter!) My daughter tried on a pair of these breeches in gray at Rolex, and got the biggest smile on her face because they were so comfortable. She also loved the ankle fit that is designed for a smooth, comfy boot fit. The fit of the breeches also flattered her. I purchased them, and she chooses to wear them to the barn over all the other breeches hanging in her closet. I recently purchased a tan pair for her to use at horse trials on the cross country course (as a surprise). When she found them hanging with her equipment I got a huge smile and a big thank you!
