Great boots!
Ok so let me preface this by saying that I've had these boots for 3 years now. The only con to them is that they are horrible to break in due to the zipper down the back, which destroyed my Achilles area... wear bandaids or something to protect that area when breaking them in.
Otherwise, I wear these boots a minimum of 3x a week, and sometimes more. I wear them to work on dress-down days when it's cruddy weather outside. I wear them to the grocery store. I ride in them in the winter. I worked at a barn for a while and I worked in them there, too. I have beaten the absolute life out of these boots, and still they hang on. I need to replace the insoles, but the rest of them are in good shape. I have not conditioned or cleaned them, the only cleaning they've received is from God or Mother Nature... whichever one you believe in more. They are still waterproof, fyi. The zipper has not broken and the laces have not been replaced. 10/10 highly recommend.

My favorite boots!
I bought a pair of these boots 2 years ago and they are still going strong! I wear them daily at the barn through all 4 seasons here in Michigan for riding and barn work. They're super comfortable, water and mud resistant, and somehow keep my feet warm & dry on cold days and cool during the summer. When it drops below about 20 degrees, I add toe warmers or swap these out for my insulated muck boots for barn work. I love the laces for adjustability, and to top it off they're super cute! Wonderful boots going on 2 years now
I got these boots for Christmas about 2 years ago and they are WONDERFUL! they're holding up great and are comfortable. I really love that I can wear them comfortably with jeans and as a result I wear them everywhere! They're my go to boot for just about every occasion including riding in them. Some reviews talk about the zippers etc but I've had no issues yet with mine and im confident if I had had an issue smart pak would have helped me resolve the issue. I'll be ordering myself another pair this year (in another color) for my birthday gift to myself! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Zipper broke on first wear….
First of all, I am surprised with the reviews that state these boots are comfortable right out of the box. Not comfortable AT ALL! Very stiff and abrasive to the back of my heels- so much so that I wore extra thick socks and hoped for the best (although that didn’t make a noticeable difference)…. I was trying to be optimistic that if I wore them enough they would become supple and comfortable. Time will NOT tell. I hopped in my truck and headed into town…. I literally parked and while getting out the entire zipper broke on the right boot. I had to drive back home and put on my trusty (double the price) older boots. These will 100% be a defective return as they are not worth giving a second try.

Do not get if you have bigger feet
I am a size 10 and these DO NOT fit at all. The back of my feet/heels were bleeding after only wearing them for an hour, with socks. They are also super stiff in the ankles and above, and barely have any give to them. It makes it hard to drive in them.

Just do it
I usually ride in $1200 deniros but wanted something warmer for winter and didn't want to spend another 1200 on Sherpa custom boots. First I was looking at the Ariat versions but when these smartpak ones came on sale I thought why not. They look much higher quality than I expected. I had to loosen the laces a bit as I have wide calfs but then they fit like a glove. They are also super comfortable to ride in (I can't even tell I am not wearing my deniros). My horses also didn't notice a difference (schooling 4th/PSG). I also love that they are waterproof and I don't need to worry about taking them off after I ride before turning horses out when it's muddy (which I always did with my deniros). All in totally worth the investment.

Not consistent for wide calfs
I have these boots in a 41 and found them to be just a touch too big so I ordered the 40 with high hopes. The calfs were MUCH smaller on the 40. I have wide calfs and I had no problem with the calf width on the 41's but couldn't even begin to lace up beyond my mid-calf with the 40's. Very disappointed to return.

Worth their weight
I'm on my third pair in three years. I just keep walking these into the ground. The first pair is still going. The second pair had a waterproof failure after 13 months. Third pair on their way to me now. I'd buy more. They are sturdy, comfy, the laces allow for custom fit. I work a 40 acre estate and they are my work horse boots 365 days a year.

Had these for a year, loved them, until they broke
I’ve had these for a year and really loved them, until the zipper broke last month. The zipper pull broke a few months ago. I didn’t wear these exclusively, but did wear them more than my winter boots and cowboy boots. Really quick break in and super comfortable to wear all day teaching and riding. My feet were always comfortable! They looked great (although dust sticks to these big time and they aren’t easy to clean) and they fit my narrow calf well.

I loved these boots, then the zippers failed
I’ve had these boots for under a year and the zippers have started to fail. Anytime I wear them to ride or even just walking, the boots unzip about a quarter of the way down. Thankfully they have the closure tab to keep them up or they would be unwearable. This problem only arose after it was too late for Smartpak to do anything to help. I’m hoping my boots are the exception, not the rule.
I just think that something that costs over $150 should last at least two years given than I’m only wearing them 2-3 days a week.

Do yourself a favor- BUY THESE BOOTS!
I am truly blown away by the quality and comfort of these boots for this price. I bought them just before heading out for a week long riding trip - risky, I know. They came and were very stiff and felt a touch snug right out of the box, but that's how a good quality boot should feel when they are new. I wore them around the house for 5 days to break them in along with oiling them. They are amazing! I was in the saddle for 5 consecutive days for 5+ hours a day and these boots were incredible - awesome support, great quality leather, and super durable. I also love that these lace up in the front for a really great fit and have the zipper up the back which keeps the structure if the boot intact. They gave a thin liner and have been super comfortable on days ranging from 50-85 degrees F.

Too Slouchy
I wanted to love these boots. I have a narrow calf and was really excited to find lace-up boots. I wish there were half sizes, but since there are not I went a size up and wear double socks and synch up the calf real tight. The problem I have with these boots is they got really slouchy after a few months and rub my heels. They are fine for feeding and keep my feet toasty, but I really can't walk the farm in them without my heels getting blistered.

Pros and Cons
Pros:
-Nice leather
-Cheaper than the Ariats I wanted
-Literally no break-in time
-I wear a small, short in Ariat half chaps and these boots fit me in height
-The footbed is very comfortable in and out of the saddle
-Love the adjustable calf
Cons:
-I really needed a half size-8 was too small and 9 is a bit swimmy-add an insole-too tight
-Not really warm. I am not sure where people live that are saying this. It's more of a spring and fall boot for central VA. It will be WAY too hot for summer here.

Excellent, versatile boot!
I love these! I have slim calfs and with the laces cinched all the way they are a great fit. I actually have one a little looser at the top so I can slide my phone into them when my breeches don’t have pockets! I’m in Colorado and they have done well in snow so far, and are warmer than I thought they’d be. Hoping they aren’t toooo warm to still trail ride in during summer. I tried several other boots before these and they check all the boxes. Only complaint is my right heel doesn’t fit perfect in the heel bed which seems a tad to big, but no blisters yet.. just some soreness when I first dismount from riding which disappears after a few steps. I hope these last years, if not.. they better not discontinue them!! Would buy again even if they only last a year or two of hard wear because I had such a hard time finding any country boot that came close to fitting! Lots of compliments on them as well!

Great boot, wore out fast
Pro - I loved this boot. I am a para (disabled) rider and it is challenging to find a boot that works for me. These were super comfortable, broke in easily, the laces made them really adjustable, and the weight was perfect for the barn (not so heavy that I couldn't walk, but sturdy/safe for chores). The Cons - after only 4 months, the zipper is broken and the leather is fraying/ripping near the sole. I totally acknowledge theses were not likely designed to hold up to hard use, but at the price point, I had at least hoped they would last through winter. So - definitely recommend if you need a cute, comfortable boot for light use....would avoid if you are looking for something for daily use.

These are plenty tall enough for someone 5'3"
I've been wearing these boots off an on for a couple of months now. I like them so much that I don't want to dirty them up by riding in them! Here is why I haven't given them five stars. I wear a size 7 so I ordered them in 38. The foot bed is sloppy on my foot, also, the shaft is large for my leg. I put a 3/4 length arch support in the boot to take care of the sloppy footbed, and I nearly always have a pant leg inside of the boot, so that took care of the loose shaft. I do find them very comfy and have hiked (on a flat trail), 5 miles, without any issues. I'm an endurance rider, so being able to use these boots in varying terrain on the ground is a must, as I often dismount to walk steep downhills. When I decide to actually ride in them, I won't need to put on a half chap, which is one less thing to deal with. I bought them when they were on sale, I'm waiting for them to go on sale again, so I have two pair, one to ride in, one for casual dress. There is a ton of snow right now, so they probably won't get used much for a few months, but come spring, I'll be hitting the trails again.

These are Awesome Boots!
I'd originally wanted the Ariat Coniston's but just couldn't justify paying that price so close to Xmas, I'd have felt guilty! At any rate I got these instead and they're a beautiful boot and fit true to size. I've ridden in them as well with no issues and they stick me to the saddle as well. I've not really tested them in high water so I can't say as to whether they're really waterproof or not. I do love them though they're beautiful and a very good Quality.

By far my favorite boots!
After having issues with other casual boots linings coming loose, I started looking for something different, and having larger than toothpick calves, that is a big undertaking! I found a pair of these used on a social media site and decided to try them as I had been looking at them for awhile! Best decision ever. Instantly comfortable, super supportive, they look good even when they are dusty from being at the barn all day! I can wear them to work, and I ride in them ALL THE TIME. I've recommended them to multiple people, and they all love them too. I'm planning on getting the other two colors available soon!

Warm and cute
If I tried these on in a store i would not have bought them. Very painful on the heel to get into. But walking in them for 5 minutes and I was in love. So comfortable. Be sure to weave the ends of the laces in or they get wren your leg and the saddle and scratch your saddle. So far have kept my feet toasty in NC winter.

Not enough to love
These were pleasing boots right out of the box. Gorgeous leather, lovely soft suede, and attractive fit. However, after a few wears, I am less than pleased. The zipper on the back of the heel collapses and rubs. I have tried several combinations of sock thickness and lace tightness, but still the zipper rubs. After about a week, the rubber is separating from the leather on the outside toe of the boot. For now they are still waterproof, but I question how long these boots will hold up. For the price point, I'd expect a better quality boot that will last a while. I did order a size up and they fit as I'd expect, although I wish there were 1/2 sizes. If you're on the fence about purchasing these, look elsewhere.

Awesome Boots!
I bought the low pull-on Ada boots and like them so much I decided to try these. They’re styled after Ariat boots, but at this price point I don't mind wearing them to the barn. Actually they’re nice enough to wear as street boots. They run a bit smaller than the Ada Mid Country boots. I usually wear 39s, but the seam in the Lace Up was pressing the top of my foot. I sized up and the 40s are perfect, with plenty of room for wool socks. I wore them all day without any issues, they didn’t require any break-in. I love the way they look. It’s hard to find country boots in black. Now I’m going to order the Tall Country Adas, and the Chelsea Boot as well. Smartpak really has a winner with their Adas!

Very Comfortable
There were no 1/2 sizes so I ordered what was equivalent to a US size 8, I am usually a size 7 1/2. I was very happy with the look and feel of the boots when I got. They broke in very easily during the first day I wore them. They were a little big in the foot, so I added a pair foot orthotics and now they fit great. Very happy with them so far and Will definitely buy another pair when needed.

Love them
I worr these boots for a weekend in Savanah despite being on cobblestone and going up and down stone stairs all weekend my feet were comfortable. I have ridden in both saddles and had no issues . Been to the barn and given them a quick brush off before going to town. Love the zipper. Think they will hold up well.
