Product Overview
Zimecterin Gold is approved by the FDA to eliminate 61 species and stages of equine parasites, including tapeworms. Zimecterin Gold combines ivermectin 1.55% and praziquantel 7.75% and is safe for horses and foals over 2 months of age. Each 7.35 g tube of Zimecterin Gold treats horses up to 1,250 lb.

De-wormer that horses don't mind ingesting!
I've used Zimectrin Gold for years. Never have any difficulty administering it since it apparently has a pleasant taste and smell. Never have any gastric upsets after de-worming.

A must in the rotation!!
I've never seen a dewormer horses like... But I have seen some dewormers that horses really hate... The horses don't seem to mind this dewormer all that much. I definitely like it and they don't seem to hate it!

Best kill all-the-bugs drug out there
Actually took part in a study this year where we pulled fecals and tried different dewormers. My filly's count actually went up with some of the products until we got to this one.

CAUTION: MAY CAUSE PAINFUL MOUTH ULCERS!!!
It's been well-documented that the carrier in Zimecterin Gold can cause your horse's tongue to swell and painful ulcers to form. Not all horses, but some. I've used it in the past on my horse, but once I learned of the dangers, never again!
Here's the text from the fine print on Z-Gold's label:
"IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
"ZIMECTERIN Gold
Warning: Not for use in humans. Keep this and all drugs out of reach of children. In horses there have been rare reports of swelling and irritation of the mouth, lips and tongue following administration of ZIMECTERIN Gold. These reactions have been transitory in nature. "
Even if they are "rare" and "transitory in nature" ... why would you risk doing this to your horse, when other easily available products work just as well?

I have purchased this parasite control several times over the years.
This time with in 12 hrs I observed one horse passing bot larva's and other parasites in manure.
With in two weeks his coat is better and overall appearance is better. He is shedding out now where he was not before. De-wormed 9 horses this time and all look better two weeks later. No ill effects. Obvious health improvement!
SmartPak's prices are the best I have found with free shipping. Local this is $18.00 a tube plus tax.

Made a huge difference
My young horse was wormy and this came highly recommended by my vet. He is picky about oral supplements but didn't seem to care about the taste. It solved our problem and he's back to being his normal self. Smartpak's price is better than any local tack store's prices.

Good wormer for the price
Our trainer and vet had recommended this product. I cannot attest to it's effectiveness as we've only used it through 2 cycles as a preventative. It is fairly palatable to the horse - our horse is finicky about taste and lifts her lip after using this, but does not overly attempt to spit it out. The price on SmartPak is about half of what we were paying at the local feed store, so this is my primary reason for purchasing a couple at a time.
