Works well, decently palatable
I bought this pak 2 months ago and I'm already noticing a change in my horse's mane and tail. They are both softer and fuller and his mane is growing longer, which was what I really wanted this for. He wasnt too keen on the flavor first, but I mix in a tablespoon of vegetable oil to stick it to the pellets he gets and it works just fine. I'm very pleased with this supplement.

Disappointed
I recently bought this and when I opened it up it smelled like plastic. I gave it two my horse, who eats anything, and he took a bite and refused to eat the rest. I don’t blame him it was a very wrong plastic smell.

Easy to feed, palatable
Was so easy to add this into my Smartpak and did not create any extra work to feed it. My horse eats it without problem. I'll let you know how it helps his mane and tail in a couple months!

Great product if your horse will eat it
The ingredients make this a perfect supplement for skin, coat, and hoof health however, my horse refuses to eat his grain with it added.

Palatable and works!
Ive had my mare on this product for 2 months after the donkey ate a bunch of her tail, not only has her tail started to re grow the farrier commented how well her hooves felt.

On the 10th of July marked 6 weeks of being on this product. Our horse went from having a thin short tail to a full thicker longer tail almost reaching his fetlock today! Wow! His coat is a shiny, overall great product!

Quick results
My horses mane was amazing.. until he started rubbing it out in a fence trying to get grass from the other side! Within one month of starting we have a ton of new growth. I haven’t taken his tail down since starting it but he does have new growth up top as well. Incredibly happy horse momma with this one!

Worked.. just not what I expected
His mane grew quickly after a trim on this supplement, but I didn't notice any improvement in his tail which is what I was after! I know it does take quite awhile, but I decided to stop the supplement. My horse ate it fine mixed in with grain and a bit of water.

Omg, this worked in less than 60 days!
My horse whiskey is a constant rubber on the hay bin- he had little spikes that were split off from all the rubbing. He has NEVER had a mane like this. It’s an incredible product!

Horse won’t eat it
I have tried giving this to my horse plain & with every imaginable treat. It is always left in the feeder. Sounds like what she needs as she needs to grow in a piece of mane but I can’t get it in her.

Mane Reason
I started giving this supplement to my horse about a month ago. I have already seen results. The top of her tail was always ratty and thin where you could see her skin. It is growing in thicker and I can no longer see her skin. I have also noticed that her mane is getting thicker.

Noticable results in 1 month.
This summer I trimmed my mini mares mane shorter because I thought it would show off her archy neck better. It didn't really suit her and it never really seemed to grow back. She also rubbed a huge chunk out of her tail. I thought I would try this product. I swear her mane has already grown an inch in a month and her tail is fuller and longer and no more tail rubbing! She has no problem eating this in her grain.

Noticeable growth and hair health
I’ve had two of my horses on this for a few months and love the results!
I used this as a ditch effort to get my studs forlock to grow back after he rubbed out his forelock- now you can barely tell he ever did! My gelding had a decent front half of his mane- the other was just strands. His second half is growing in and it’s thick and healthy! I’m putting another gelding on it for maintenance since he’s constantly braided. Great product that even my picky eaters clean up!

My horse has historically always had short frizz at the top of his tail and a fairly thin tail. His coat has always been decent, but within 2 weeks of trying being on this supplement, his coat became incredibly shiny (despite the early winter fluff). We have now reached 2 months, and while his tail looks messy and frizzy still (as expected until long enough to lay flat), there is a noticeable difference. Only negative is in terms of texture; the supplement tends to stick to the bowl and isn't always the easiest to mix into the grain (tends to collect at the bottom when dry and clumps to the grain when wet, which my horse isn't a fan of), would love to see this formula in a pelleted form.

Texture problem
My horse did not like the texture of the product. She acted like she had peanut butter stuck to the roof of her mouth. The recommended amount seems like alot so I cut the amount into 2 feedings. While the mare ate it better, the humidity caused it to stick to the feed bucket. Quite a mess. The zip closure on the bag doesn't work well, especially when wearing gloves. Again the humidity caused me concern for the unused product if I couldn't keep the bag zipped shut. The product itself seems to be keeping mane and tail strengthened but I'd rather have a supplement in pellet form.

I started Lightning on this product about two months ago. I saw results within two weeks. It was incredible.over the summer she lost a good portion of her mane and tail due to rubbing from seasonal allergies. I started her on the smart immune and smart mane and tail and its absolutely incredible how much her mane and tail have grown back

Stopped the mane rubbing
My appy gelding had a pathetic tail and would frequently rub out large patches of his mane during the spring and summer- he's been on this supplement for about 6 months now, and his tail has grown a couple inches, and the mane rubbing has stopped completely! I'm super happy with the results.

Seems To Be Working
I added this supplement to my horse's Smartpaks as soon as I got him this past fall. He had a super uneven, chewed-off mane that I wanted to help grow. I also got it b/c the ingredients would help with hooves as well. I couldn't believe how much his mane has grown! He has a wonderful sheen to his coat now also, very slick and with a coppery shine. We feed the horses really well but I think having this on top of it is just the icing on the cake.

Didn't Really Help
I had my horse on this for about 3 months, I have a Curly who already, by nature, has trouble growing his mane and tail but he rubbed his tail so I was hoping this might help his tail grow back. I didn't notice a difference even after 3 months so decided to take him off of it and I'm going to try something else. The problem could just be my horses breed (Some Curlies are known for completely shedding out their manes and tails) but it didn't help my guy.

Mane helper
I have only been using Name and Tail for a month, so it's hard to know if there is improvement yet. My mare has a long mane and tail but rubbed her mane against a tree. Hoping this product thickens the mane.

Very disappointed
My Large Pony Hunter is an Araloosa mare who does not have the best mane on the bottom half near her withers. I took her off of super 14 and started her on this supplement about 3 months ago since it says that it will also keep costs shiny while helping grow hair. To say that her coat has never been this dull in the 14 years that I’ve owned her would be an understatement, and it has not helped her mane at all. I will be switching either back to Super 14 (which I LOVE) and/or trying the cocoOmega supplement, which I’ve heard great things about. I am very disappointed in this supplement, especially considering how effective the majority of the smart supplements are.
