SmartEnergy works!
I own a 15 yr old German Riding Pony and we are working on 4th Level/PSG, but struggled with having consistent energy. My trainer did a little research and came across Smartpak's SmartEnergy and having had good experience with other Smartpak products, I ordered a 56 day supply and within 10 days, there was a noticeable change to her willingness to go forward. I was afraid of SmartEnergy causing an internal anxious energy, but it seems to be making a positive difference in our lessons and rides. Thanks Smartpak!!

Honestly, I don't know
I bought these thinking I was going to give my horse more energy as he can be dull and lethargic especially on warmer days. I started to give these to him when the weather started to get a little cooler and he became more hot and spooky. I guess he had more energy for sure and I stopped using them. I can't tell if these are the pellets or the weather. I am going to try these again when weather gets warmer again. Shame the bag will go to waste. Hope to update my review to 5 stars.

Worked, just not way i hoped
Slow Clydesdale, made her act a bit jumpy and terrified of her own shadow. Definitely works tho, she barely moved before. Was hoping for more of a calm energy but think it works different on different horses. Worth a try tho

No real change
I chose this energy supplement due to the positive reviews and the price. My 13 year old Belgian/Quarter horse takes a lot of encouragement to get going. He has been on this supplement for a few months now and I have not noticed much change in energy and it has definitely made him more spooky. He does really like the flavor of it, there is never any left in his feed bucket.

Miracle Supplement
My horse is notoriously sulky in hot weather. Specifically, he is opposed to cantering and pins his ears, balls up, and refuses to get in front of my leg by crow hopping and being a general jerk. Makes finding a distance pretty impossible. I started smart energy on a whim and good lord it made a difference! Even in extreme heat and high humidity, my horse is significantly more pleasant and very willing to go forward. Interestingly, he doesn’t get out of breath as badly as before, either. Previously he would get so out of breath and take so long to recover that I have talked to my vet about taking him to the university for tests Bc he is otherwise fit and ridden 5 days a week. On Smart Energy his breathing is much much more normal. Also, I found that My horse did best on half the maintenance dose (only one well per day) because on 2 wells he was sort of spooky and way more... anxious to go. Not misbehaving, but really anticipating the next move, which is not him- he is a typical lazy warmblood hunter. One more note- I recently forgot to give it to him one day after I had ridden him pretty hard. He was awful in my lesson the next day- back to the sulky jerk. Gave it to him the next 2 days in a row and had an excellent lesson with a forward horse. Maybe it won’t work for your horse, but it really worked for mine.

Making a Difference!
I decided to try smart energy pellets on my less than enthusiastic 3 year old. After ruling out any medical issues, lameness, and nutrition deficiencies I started her on smart energy pellets in the middle of summer. Within 2 weeks I saw a difference. She hasn’t become “hot” or overly stressed, just more motivated during training sessions. I’ve also changed up her training routine to keep her mind fresh. I’m really pleased with this supplement, and I’ve been able to maintain the energy I want in her by giving a slightly smaller scoop than the maintenance dose. I may even decrease the daily dose more over winter and see how she does.

Very Pleased!!
I bought this for my exceedingly lazy quarter horse and, although it took about a bag and a half before it really kicked in, he is now a much more enjoyable ride. He’s still a laid back kind of horse, but he has more energy, more impulsion, and more enthusiasm. You may need to give this supplement a couple of bags of feeding to really make a difference in your horse, but it’s worth the wait.

Didn’t Work for My Horse
This product seems to work for everyone so I was surprised to see my mare almost have an adverse reaction to it. She was super lethargic, almost drugged for the month she was on this. As a green 3yr old it was weird seeing her look sedated in the crossties. Since taking her off of it, she is back to being her normal calm, quiet but awake self.

IT WORKS!!!
I bought this supplement for my EXTREMELY lazy young warmblood mare. I had check with my vet before and she is healthy and eating well, but getting her to move was so hard! Whenever my trainer and I would ride her, we would end up exhausted. The funny thing is she would buck really hard or bolt every once in a while, and then a stride later she would go back to laziness. So I knew she had it in her but didn't felt like moving. We started to see a change on week two after starting her on SmarEnergy. She is more forward now, but hasn't buck or bolted on me. I was afraid it would make her bolt and buck more, but so far she is just easier to get moving, I can feel her more in front of my leg :) . I didn't expected this supplement to work so well, its fantastic!!! Thanks Smartpak! I'm enjoying my rides a lot more now.

Works fantastically!!
My gelding is approx 20, has always been a bit lazy, and has become a definite “Slow Joe” over the past few years. I was at my wits end, because every ride involved me working extra hard to get him going and him barely moving. He’s been on SmartEnergy for about a month, and he is a whole new horse!! We are having wonderful rides, and he is more than willing to go and keep going! Thank you!!!!!!

I think it's really helped my horse!
My 10 year old TB was always totally pooped at the end of our rides and needed constant nagging to keep moving. I thought I'd try this because my horse has been ridden almost every day for a year and was EXHAUSTED after a 30 minute ride. I didn't notice any difference right away, but at the end of our rides I now , my horse isn't whopped. He actually comes out of the gate forward and we have some really enjoyable rides. His canter is more forward and powerful and he just seems to feel better in general and I think he is happier. Maybe it is the weather (he does not like the cold!), but I'm actually going to keep him on SmartEnergy

smells really nice
I started my 19 year old mare on this product over a month ago due to "lack of energy". She gets pasture, vitamins, omega's etc. I think she is "more energetic" but it is not profound. I am going to give the supplement a bit longer to see how she responds. I then will post another review. I do believe she is a "bit" more energetic and maybe that is all I can expect. Expectations are half the battle, right!

Pallatable, but no change in energy
I bought this because I was happy to see an energy supplement without excessive iron in it. It is palatable and my horse had no trouble eating it, but unfortunately I didn't see any change in his energy levels.

It seems like this supplement is the best at both providing energy and focus. My guy has more energy and is more forward in general. He used to start spooking at thin air when he got tired. So no more! Great stuff.

I have to re-learn how to ride my horse!
I have an 18 yr old mare who, since I bought her 9 months ago, has been the HARDEST horse to keep forward. The vet came out and did some bloodwork and she came up slightly anemic. After doing some research, I chose the Smartenergy over Red Cell because I was worried about unneeded ingredients. Smartpak always says to give a product 60 days, but by Day 50, I wasn't seeing a whole lot of improvement and was looking for other options. It was literally on Day 52 that I showed up and the barn and realized I had a completely new horse!
When I say my horse is FORWARD, I'm not even kidding. I've only put 2 rides in on her since the supplement kicked in, and I had to call my trainer and tell her we needed a lesson PRONTO cause I don't know how to ride this horse! This is a horse who would literally take ANY excuse to slow down or stop, and now I can't get her to slow down! Its like I've awaken the beast!
As far as the anemia, her once pale gums have finally turned back to a healthy pink, she is alert, and moving like she has a purpose! I don't know what's in this stuff, but it is FANTASTIC!

Unbelievable difference!
My very laid back paint horse has always been hard to get moving- it would take every ounce of strength I had to get him to go. I tried different crops and whips and spurs but he didn't really respond much to those. He's been on smart energy for about 4 months and he is a different horse. Riding is more enjoyable and finally has the momentum to get a lead change which we were never able to do.

Works great!
I bought this product about a month ago and my horse has seen increased energy levels. He does not get hot, but it takes the edge off of his laziness. He's still pretty lazy, but is more willing to do the work I'm asking of him (low level eventing). I highly recommend this to anyone who has a pretty darn lazy horse that is hard to get moving.

Just what my horse needed!
My gelding has been on smart energy for over a month now. He is naturally a laid back lazy horse. He began basic training earlier this year. Getting him to break over into a canter on the lunge or in the saddle was just exhausting. This supplement was just enough to give him those "hot feet" to get him moving out into the canter beautifully with very little aid. Thank you SmartPak for making our training easier and our rides more enjoyable and productive. At this price it's definitely worth a try on those dead heads in the barn!

MIRACLE IN A PELLET!
I've only been using this supplement for about a week but the results are tremendous! I bought new horse (perch-x), changed his diet from 100% alfalfa and he immediately lost all steam. He struggled to canter, jump or have any endurance during our rides at all. My trainer couldn't believe this was the same horse that I'd tried!
One week on this supplement and I have a brand new horse. He has spunk and energy and enjoys his job again. His canter has improved tremendously and he has stopped knocking rails and dragging his feet. I love SmartPaks but have never seen a supplement turn a horse around this much this fast. I am a believer!
This horse isn't a picky eater at all but we've had no issues with palatability, he licks his feed bowl clean same as always.
