No More Omeprazole
We've had amazing success with horses who have recurring ulcers when we use this product. I never expected to be able to wean them off of omeprazole. Our older whip horse has transitioned over and is so much more comfortable than he was before.

Great on the road
My competitive trail horse gets SmartDigest Ultra everyday at home, but when we're traveling for competition he gets really finicky often leaving behind much of his feed. With SmartDigest Ultra Paste I can give it to him and know that he is getting the full dose even if he doesn't finish all his feed.

Love this stuff
I have my almost 26 year old on smartdigest ultra pellets daily which keeps his gut happy. Occasionally he gets stressed about things and when he does I can use the paste as an extra boost to help his gut out. He likes the taste and it keeps him healthy.

Great peace of mind!
I use this the night before a show and the morning of a show because my horse hates trailering and really stresses him out. I definitely noticed a difference in his gut.

Love this product!
Recently bought this product as an alternative to banamine when my mare shows early signs of colic! She usually develops these symptoms a handful of times a year but has never required banamine or vet! Now I can use the paste to help provide comfort to her while walking!

We won't leave home without it!
I bought this for my NATRC competition horse, who has a history of ulcers. He's a great competitor, but not a great traveller. He stresses in the trailer, which starts up a vicious cycle - I'm stressed, I don't feel good, I don't want to eat, therefore I'm not eating my supplements that help me feel better.
At home he eats his feed with SmartDigest Ultra with great relish, and now with the SmartDigest Ultra Paste, I can get his 'goodies' into him even if he isn't eating well. Then, he starts eating again sooner since he feels better!
We won't leave home without it anymore!

Piece of mind
I give my boy a dose the morning before a show or travel day as piece of mind. He has had a history of having stomach issues, and traveling puts so much extra stress on their digestion. This is the perfect way to feel better about taking him off the farm!

Excellent Hindgut support product
I decided to use this stuff when my horses were stressed- going on vacation, long hours in the trailer, changes in diet, ect. and it is fantastic. With a tube of this stuff just prior to travel their systems stay happy and healthy through the change with no indications of upset tummies. I tried to go without it once and I definitely saw changes in stool quality the first 24 hours and changes in behavior. I'll never stress them out with out this stuff on hand again!
As far as palatability goes, I don't either of my horses particularly enjoyed it, but at least it doesn't end up on the ground like bute tends to.
The only thing I wish was different: the tube was shorter and wider. My hands are almost too small to get around plunger and it would be easier if it was shorter. All companies should make note of that anyway, but I thought maybe SmartPak would start that trend. Great product anyway.

Immediately noticed a difference!
After purchasing my new tb, his attitude started getting worse and worse over the first month I owned him. Once we figured out he had ulcers, I gave him this paste along with smartgut ultra and he was back to his old self within a few days. Now every time he travels to a big show or goes to my trainers for an extended time, I will give him these pastes before, during, and after his stay!

Wonderful product for happy bellies
I bought this product as a supplement to the SmartDigest Ultra Pellets that my horse receives daily via SmartPaks. He had to spend two weeks on stall rest and I wanted extra protection for his gut while he was in a high stress situation. Every day I gave it my horse enjoyed the taste and his nervous diarrhea stopped after one day on the paste. I also give this paste every time I trailer/compete my horses. I look at it as an extra bit of insurance that they will be feeling good and performing at their best. So happy with this product-- will continue using it for years to come!

Great Prevention
I've given this to my horse several times over the past two years when we go away for a few days at a time. I like the idea of prevention regarding stomach issues. Although my horse is generally the calm type, he does get excited when he sees the shipping boots come out, causing him to have several bouts of loose poop. Overall, he seems to be more calm and relaxed when I give him the SmartDigest Ultra paste, so he gets a dose every day while we are away from home.

nice to keep around
I got a tube of this stuff from the SmartPak booth at Equine Affaire. My horse is on the regular SmartDigest Ultra supplement, but he still gets a little loose when there's new hay at the barn. I just slip him a small shot when I find out that new hay is coming in, and it clears right up. The best thing is that the paste seems to taste good! My horse is used to getting banamine or bute out of these tubes, and when he sees the tube coming, he's not happy!! Can't blame him, either - those things taste awful. But with this, I just have to let him get a sniff and he's happy to stand still and eat it up. A warning: it IS pretty goopy. I got some on my barn coat last fall, and there's been a yeasty patina laid over the usual earthy scents on my coat all winter. Try not to get any of this on your clothes.

Always have one handy!
I always keep a couple of these pastes in my tack trunk. So far I have not had to use it to resolve an issue, but I do use it to prevent digestive problems. I like to give my horse 1/4 tube a week after I administer dewormer. This paste is convenient and comprehensive.

Prevents loose stools at shows
My horse is a calm-tempered, seasoned show horse. He is generally relaxed when he travels and eats and drinks well on the road and at shows.
However, he consistently had loose stools at shows and these "tummy issues" occasionally coincided with jumpy behavior. When he receives a dose of the SmartDigest Ultra paste before hopping on the trailer to go to the show, his stools remain normal throughout the day and he behaves like the seasoned pro he is.
I would recommend this product for horses like mine who have minor digestive upset while traveling or showing. It smells good (like butterscotch), although my horse acts like it doesn't taste as great as it smells, he takes it fine. I think that using products that soothe the digestive tract like this one, often work better than calming supplements to achieve optimum performance at a horse show.
