Reliable and edible
My OTTB gelding has been on this product for almost a month. With the cold Ohio weather he has been almost perfect under saddle and handling on the ground. I recommend this product for winter use or to knock the edge off, also my picky eater eats it just fine:)

Worked but stopped.
I have had my anxious mare on this for a little over a year, It worked for a while but it has stopped. I put her on it to help relax her when she was going through EPM treatment & it helped. But she has been anxious & won't stay out in her paddock. She is spooky & can not handle any change. I don't know what to say but she seems so much worse. I will be taking her off this & look for something else. In august we got the good news she is negative for EPM, Lyme & Polyneuritis.

Bad Taste. No horse will eat it.
It even smells unpalatable. My personal horse LOVES soaked alfalfa, but won’t touch it if theres even a few of the SmartCalm pellets mixed into half a bucket of soppy alfalfa. I've tried giving it to friends as to not waste the expensive supplement, but none of their horses will eat it either. They spit it out, and if they can't eat around it, they pass on the food completely. I've had the supplement stored for a long time now since no one can use it... probably time to just throw it away.

Not for my Guy!
I tried for three weeks and the supplement gave him diarrhea. As soon as I quit giving them he calmed down and everything went back to normal. Still hyper but no gastric distress.

He eats it… just not sure it’s working
He’s been on this for 2 months and I’m not seeing any difference. He was in a high traffic situation sorting calves at a rodeo and was as nervous as ever….so not sure it’s working.

Absolutely works
Smartcalm has done wonders for our gelding ! He is him but without the spook! Only been in 2 months and wow! His focus now is amazing ! Definitely recommend!

Worked great!!!
My horse was doing great on practice days but would lose his mind on competition days... the music, commotion, and announcer got him so wound up that he was like one vibrating muscle and so keyed up he was hard to steer or control... been giving him Smart calm the last couple weeks and gave him one extra scoop yesterday before our competition and he did fantastic!!! We even won some money!!! Highly recommend... it made me a believer!!

Did not work
After having my mare on this for a few days she has started becoming a ticking time bomb on the ground and under saddle and each day she started to get increasingly worse I put her on it to help her settle into a barn we just moved but she is reacting worse being on this then she was the first few days being there she reacts to everything and is acting completely feral this morning to took her about 45 minutes to calm down after being led in with a horse next to her who shook her head and was being a complete lunatic in the stall. And while being ridden as the ride goes on she is increasingly getting more energetic and this is far from my normal mare.

Good for taking the edge off
My mare has been on this for two months and I think she's really benefitted. Note the regular SmartCalm is for *moderate* control. She would get high strung in the cross ties and not able to keep her feet still. She wasn't a true spaz. Just worried and a little anxious. I wanted to take the edge off that. I think if you have a horse with bigger anxiety issues, ultra or ultimate may be a better fit. For us, SmartCalm regular did the trick. She still lifts her head to look around and such and gets worrying thoughts, but that's what I wanted. I wanted to bring her to the point we could train through her anxiety and give her tools to cope. (like myself who is medicated for anxiety but also goes to therapy to learn tools). I do like it, it does work,and I plan to keep her on it. It took about 8 weeks to see full effects.

High strung mare back to her old self!\
I cannot recommend this product enough. My horse has HYPP and a whole host of other problems, so I checked with my vet before starting this product. She recently came back into work after an ulcer and our barn collapsed during the winter storms, so she has been so high strung that she could barely focus and was dragging me around the outdoor arena, which is our only option for work right now. About a week after starting these, I noticed a huge change. She is back to her old self and while she does still spook on occasion, she is happy and relaxed for most of our ride. This has given both of us so much peace of mind for restarting training. If you are debating trying, buy a month and see how it goes! I for one will be buying this for the foreseeable future.

Doesn’t seem to be helping my gelding.
My gelding is starting his third month on this product. He is still reactive and edgy. I hoped this would help him as I moved him to a new boarding stable 5 months ago which was stressful for him. This is when he started being skittish since he had been at the previous place since he was 4 months old.

Did not work
I really like smartpak supplements but this one did nothing for my quarter horse. He still acts like a wild and excitable horse at the shows for the first 2 hours. :/

I think this works
I have an ungentled mustang mare. I started her on this for the first month, hoping to ease the transition. She is an older mare that speaks WILD MARE. I ran out of this for about a week and I really noticed the difference in her attitude after getting started back on it.

This has done wonders for my hot horse
I bought this for my appendix gelding who is very hot and forward. He has been on it for about 5 weeks and I believe it is really helping him stay/be calm. He has also been in training for several months which has definitely helped—but after him being on this supplement for 3 weeks, both my trainer and I have noticed a significant change in his demeanor. He is still sensitive but his energy is controllable. He has zero issues with eating it. We mix it in with his feed. I would recommend this product, 100%.

Did not see any type of change
I bought this hoping it would help my mare be less anxious around a new horse that moved in a few months ago. I haven't noticed any changes. She did eat it readily with her feed so I'm giving it a couple stars for palatability. It just didn't work for our situation.

Calm without fatigue
I put my 9yr old gelding on this two weeks ahead of his first horse show in years. He was alert at the show, and he was interested in the goings on, but I think this--in combination with the smart calm paste the days of the show--took the edge off. He also loved the taste of the pellets.

Six weeks into use - on the fence
So, I’m unsure about efficacy, but not ready to give up yet. We have a 10 yr old Welsh cross green chestnut mare pony my DD11 is training and they’re quite a tween pair. I wanted something to take the edge of the mare’s mood (tween needs same!), and I’m unsure if this is helping. I might up her to the Ultra at the reorder point, as she is still reactive and scattered more than I’d like to see. We use with Apple a Day, as the GA heat is brutal this time of year.

Works very well!
I had a ring sour barrel horse and she would not walk down the alleyway without me having to back her up. We have been giving her this supplement for about 2 months now and her behavior has totally changed. She walks right up to the alleyway and down it no problem!

Smart Calm
My horse isnt a picky eater but he really doesnt care for this. he will eat some of it while eating his feed but will pick thru most of it. Over the time he is stalled he will generally clean up most of it. I feel he is getting enough to help with calming and focus issues and his attitude has changed back to normal .

Wonderful supplement
I bought this a few months back. My horse has some vision issues and has gotten very nervous this past year. I figured I’d try a calming supplement and after just a month on it I started to see results. Now he’s much calmer and much more relaxed.

Really works!
I started my horse on this about a month ago and this is like giving her a shot of confidence. She is very unsure of herself when riding out and spoons daily at her surroundings in the s arena. Since starting her in Smart Calm she hasn’t spooked in the arena and has more confidence away from the barn. And she gobbles it’s up!

Actually Works
I did not expect a lot out of SmartCalm. I was pushed by a friend to find a calming supplement for my anxious mare. I was personally seeing results after 2 weeks! Before, I had a psychotically anxious horse who was always looking for an out, having melt downs, then shutting down. I had vet checks, chiro work, new saddle fit, bit changes... all the things that could cause discomfort. It was very frustrating. Now I have a horse who's first step is to think instead of look for an out. Much needed attitude adjustment. It took the edge off without taking off the energy. As a speed even pony, that was the biggest pro. I never once have felt like I had a drugged/drowsy horse. Very easy to feed as well. My horse is not particularly picky, but wont eat things that don't smell like 'feed'. She never even refused it. Will eat it straight out of my hand if offered. This was a game changer for me.
