I wish my horse would eat it...
I have fed my horse human grade Spirulina powder and although it smelled horrible and created a green swamp in her feed dish when wet...she gobbled it up. She will not touch this Spirulina as I think it is actually overly sweetened. It smells quite bitter. I wish there was a flavored and a non-flavored option. I do love that it is in pellet form (the powder floats through the air and is easy to inhale). Also, for what it is worth, my mare is not a picky eater. If the flavoring changes I will re-purchase in the future!

Big difference
My horse has insect allergies with hair loss and hives every summer. Have tried flax and insecticides. These spirulina pellets made a big difference - no hair loss or skin lesions. Using less insecticide. No problem with taste.

Liking it so far!
I bough this a little over a month ago and so far my horse it doing great on it. It's very palatable, she has no issues eating it. I bought it to help with a allergic skin condition she has on her midline called sweet itch. A large animal veterinary friend recommended trying this to help boost her immune system. Even though her symptoms are not totally gone (they prob never will be) they have improved. Interested in seeing how she does when on it all year round.

Purchased two months ago and it has made a world of difference. I have a picky eater and he gobbled it up. I could hear a difference within a week of starting on Spirulina.

Horse won't eat them
My mare has been on these for about a month and she just won't eat them. I have to add a little molasses to them just to get her interested. Not sure if it's helping her allergies or not, so I removed them from my Smartpak.

Seems to be helping
My horse has been on this for almost 2 months. I bought it because he suffers from seasonal allergies and gets very "gunky" in his breathing. Some days he just will not relax when being ridden because he is congested. We had tried Zrytec in the past but it didn't seem to do much. I thought we would give this a try and I am fairly sure that it is helping. On days when riding him would normally not be very productive he seems to be less bothered by his symptoms. I have noticed less coughing, and even when he sounds a little congested, he does not seem bothered by it like he used to be. I am going to keep him on it through the spring, things are just starting to bloom now, and see if it continues to help. overall I am satisfied with the product, it smells pleasant and he has no issue with eating it.

Didn't work for my horse
I was SO excited to try this because I have heard good things about Spirulina for horses with respiratory allergies. I also know Spirulina can be very unappetizing and loved that my horse was willing to gulp these tasty pellets right down with his grain. Unfortunately, I have seen no improvement in his respiratory status after 2 months -- I won't be buying again.

love it!
My mare has been on these for about a month now and was suffering from allergies, this seemed to do the trick and not only help her breathe better but got rid of nasal discharge. Shes picky and loved the taste too :) win win

I wanted it to work, but...
My horse has allergies/heaves when it comes to dusty winter-time hay. I gave this to him daily for 30 days in the hopes that it would help relieve his coughing, however, his condition did not improve. He loved the taste of them though! I would not recommend these for relieving allergy symptoms, if they have other health benefits, they do seem very tasty!

was happy to see smart pak carrying spirulina!
Well, I just started this, so I cannot speak to its efficacy yet, but I was worried to start spirulina because I know personally how disgusting it tastes, but would you believe that my extremely picky eater eats it ALL with zero complaints. She actually ate all of her supplements (usually picks at them all day until she gets bored and then will reluctantly eat them). Maybe its the strawberry banana flavor? I do wish that you would include the natural vitamin qualities that spirulina has (E, A, K). That would be helpful to know.

Our gelding has heaves and has suffered from them for a number of years. I don't know if the spirulina is doing any major improvement, but he loves the attention and additional tasty suppliment.
