Good Product
I'm glad that Smartpak offers the straight MSM. It was recommended to me by a friend at the barn who believes that this product is helping her guy by protecting his joints. I'm hoping to see a bit less stiffness in warmup with my 8 year old OTTB. Have only used for a few weeks so do not have a huge difference yet. He does appear to like the taste, and eats it right up.

It works!
I started my 15 year-old thoroughbred mare on MSM 6 weeks ago because she has been showing signs of joint stiffness and discomfort - she had stiffness in her gaits and was constantly leaning her back end (without rubbing) against a post in her stall. She has stopped leaning altogether and has a greater range of motion.

Makes a noticeable difference
My mare has been on this MSM for a little over a month now. She deals with stifle issues and some clicking in her hocks. We've treated EPM, which improved things, and are working on dental and chiro, but as additional support this product is making her noticeably more comfortable. The clicking in her hocks is mostly gone and her stifle issues are minimal... under saddle, she is developing lovely impulsion and suspension. I've used other brands of MSM before with little to no effect, so I think the dosage and quality of this product are really wonderful. She is a very picky eater, though, and will pull faces if I don't mix this thoroughly into her feed. If well mixed, she licks the bowl clean! This is also the horse that refuses to eat carrots and was clueless about oats for the longest time sooo...

Great price but horse would not eat powder
This had to be mixed with molasses for my horse to eat this. Even just wetting the grain a little hoping to make the MSM stick didn't work. But that's just my horse, she refuses anything that is powder or granules I have recently learned.

I have two senior horses over twenty. I had been giving them TLC which worked great but I've had to tighten my belt a little so I went to simple, basic, MSM. It's nice in the smart paks because there is no measuring. It's berry flavored so the horses like it and it's working. Both are moving as they always have.

I'm a True Believer
I started taking MSM crystals (another brand, marketed for human consumption) myself for a chronic back problem and had great results with almost immediate relief (after suffering for years!).
So, I decided that if it helped me that much, I would give it a try for my 28 year old QH with severe ringbone. The poor old guy hobbled around in the pasture, some days better than others, but always VERY lame.
I put him on MSM and right away saw improvement. He will never be sound, but now he is SO MUCH more comfortable. He can stand a bit better for the farrier, and he even trots and canters with the other horses sometimes!
I even started giving it to my NATRC horse (only during the off-season as it is not allowed for competition). He works very hard and it is an awesome anti-inflammatory with seemingly no negative side effects.
BTW, both horses eat it readily when added to their beet pulp.

Great Supplement!
I started using this product on my 16 year old QH about 4-6 months ago. He was on a different joint supplement when I bought him but switched to this because it is an awesome price. I just started adding it to my 13 year old paint's morning feed as well. I use this supplement for preventative care so I haven't noticed a difference, however I have heard my paint's joints start to make cracking sounds so I am curious to see if this supplement will help. Both of my horses will eat just about anything you give them but I'm sure they love the berry flavoring!

Gobbled up!
I've had my 6yo with minor arthritis on this for about 2 months now, and truth be told I can't tell any difference. I think maybe he's just not at a point where he needs MSM daily, so am discontinuing it. However, if he does need it in the future, I will definitely get this - he will eat the powder out of my hand and beg for more. And the SP formulation gets you all the MSM you could ever want per dose, at a more than good price, without a bunch of other (potentially ulcer-aggravating) stuff.

Easy to feed!
I bought this several months ago because I wanted something for preventative care. My gelding is doing well on it and he eats it like a champ! I can tell that he wasn't stiff compared to the other horses on the farm this winter. You can't beat the price either!

horse did NOT like it
I bought this about a couple of months ago together with the pituitary supplement order to reach the $40 for shipment and in an attempt to find something to reduce inflammation. It made my life miserable, my horse did NOT want anything to do with it, probably due to strong odor of the flavor. I wish the free shipment applied to all smartpaks regardless of value, because now I had to quit the supplement as well and maybe it was helping..

Horse seems happier on it.
My horse has been on this for about a month and a half. I changed a few other things at the same time so I don't know 100% that it helped but I feel it is a good thing in his diet. He is a 9yr old OTTB training level eventer.

Wonderful!
Absolutely love this joint supplement! My mare has been on MSM for a few months now, and I have noticed such a big difference. She doesn't get stocked up at the shows and always comes out ready to work. She hasn't had any previous joint issues, so I'm using this as a preventative measure. She'll be staying on MSM for a very long time!
