Easy to use
I started my 30 yr old cushings horse on this a little over a month ago. In his most recent blood test it brought his cushings level from 114 to 70, so now he is also on a med for it but it won’t be such a high dose.

So glad I tried this
I have been trying to find something to keep my mare more comfortable during her cycles. I researched and saw that Chasteberry is a great way to keep hormone levels even throughout a mare's cycles. I have been pleased with this supplement. My mare is more like herself and that makes me happy.

Our pony has Cushing disease and had a very heavy winter coat and sweated a lot. WE were grooming him daily with a shedding blade and with a cattle comb. His hair was matted, curly and tangled. Although we combed out piles of hair each time we groomed him I was afraid he was going to dangerously overheat on warm days so I decided to
order chasteberry pellets to see if it would help him shed faster. I think it helped. At any rate he has now almost completely shed out and I no longer fear that he will overheat.

Cost effective
I bought this after my horse had a strong reaction to a prescribed drug for Cushing’s. She has been on Chasteberry pellets for about 5 wks and her last blood panel showed her numbers had greatly improved.

Good Palatability and seeing results...
I was previously using a Chasteberry Supplement from a different company and did not really feel like I saw a change. I also visited a farm who was using this supplement on one of their horses I saw a note-able change in him (for instance, regarding how he was shedding out and body tone). So I decided to give it a try. I too, feel like I am seeing a change in how my horse looks body wise and his ability to shed more readily. I will keep using it...

Turned my mare's attitude around
Love this product, well worth the cost! My mare was a horrible, hormonal mess. Screaming, anxious, constantly in heat, projectile squirting, you get the idea. She wasn't pleasant to be around. Raspberry leaves alone weren't working, so added in Smart & Simple Chasteberry pellets and she is like a new mare! Blue is calm and no longer has excessively hard cycles and is no longer the barn grouch. Thank you for a great product that works! I now have my horse back. :) My mare also loves the taste and gobbles it right up.

Minimal fading
My horse is a smoky black TW and a year ago he was diagnosed with Cushings. His coat grew long and curly and bleached out - it was awful. This past year he has still grown long but the coat is smoother and not curly. He is now on pergolide and I know that helps a lot but I think the addition of chasteberry has helped and I will continue to give it to him.

Not good
I bought this several months ago for my overweight senior Arab. He will not eat them after the first taste, when he threw his around and tried to spit them out. My senior Quarter Horse won't eat them either. He did the same thing when I gave him a taste. So, I tasted them and they do have a bitter aftertaste.

Wary of this product
I gave this to my mare for 10-14 days. She is a 14 year old thoroughbred mare who is a little cranky. She was lame within a few days of starting this supplement. I assumed it could be an abscess, the farrier came out and couldn't find one. I soaked her feet and gave her bute but her lameness worsened and both front feet were sore with increased digital pulses. I had the vet out several times with xrays, there's no abscesses and the vet diagnosed acute laminitis. We couldn't prove the supplement caused this, the timing could have been coincidental but I stopped feeding it once we recognized the timing of it. My mare has never had laminitis before, it's winter and she doesn't look like a Cushing's horse. The vet is testing ACTH and we are about $1200 deep in vet bill's due to xrays, visits, softrides, packing, DMSO administration etc. I can't recommend this product based on this experience.

Horses have only been on it one month. Using it for a cushings pony and an over zealous OTTB. Not sure if it does anything for them yet but it’s affordable and they like the taste so willing to give it time.

This does work
I have a senior mini that for at least 4 years I've had to body clip her in the summer every 6 weeks to keep her cool due to not shedding out properly. I started using this in July & I could tell a difference in her hair growth in a couple of weeks. I'm curious to see how she sheds out in the spring. She didn't have a problem eating it.

Great supplement!
I had my gelding on SmartPituitary for a while and loved it but I recently changed his hoof supplement, so I didn't want to overload him withamino acids. I decided to try this out and I am very impressed! My gelding with Cushing's still has a nice, dark coat, sheds out normally and is very happy! The dosage is great and the price is even better. Also, my boy eats it and he's the pickiest eater I've ever dealt with.

I started using this for my lamanitic boy.. Even with blanketing, under lights and on a great omega oil his coat was just icky and he was growing long hair! Since starting this, not only is his coat much better looking, but he is also much less moody. On top of that, he had some back/hip pains related to some lamanitic issues, diet change, shoeing change helped a little, but not entirely. Since putting him on these pellets as well as SmartLamina, he is back into normal work!!

Easy to feed.
I bought this to add to my geldings diet along with his medication.He is 30 yrs old and was diagnosed with Cushing, I read all about incorporating Chasteberry with his Cushing meds, the person at Smartpak was very informative and helpful.
I spoke to my vet and he said he too had heard good rhings.
My horse LOVES it, he gobbles it right up..I believe it’s helping him, am going to reorder...

Seems to be working on my 20 year old donkey
My 20 year old donkey did not shed out this summer. Was moody and sad. I bought this and am on month 3. He is finally shedding out and his new coat is shiny. He is happy again ..but...not totally shed out. I wonder if I should give him two packets a day. Was not able to reach anyone on this site to ask.

WOW..This stuff REALLY WORKS!
My senior Morgan gelding, Sandy wasn't showing the classic signs of Cushings - in fact he's rather a hard keeper - but he didn't shed out completely this spring and was still kinda Furry for August. Read about Chasteberry and decided on the SmartPak pellets for ease of feeding. Ordered it about 3 weeks ago. He snarfed them right down , no problem. Last night. as I fed him, i noticed the Fuzzies were dropping off and there was shiney dappled Bay! He's actually starting to gain some weight as well! Beyond expections!

Works like a charm! Natural Chasteberry!
I have a 23 year old mare, whose coat had gone into overdrive in the past two years; I was clipping her once every six weeks. I happened to read about this product and bought it in January. Within two weeks I could tell she wasn't growing as much hair, and then it stabilized and I haven't clipped her since (mid-April). Her coat also seems a bit darker (in a rich and lovely way) and the consistency is wonderfully soft.

Didn’t work for my mare but she loved the taste!
Pros: great price and my super picky eater loved these!
Cons: I’d heard chasteberry could help mares with hormonal issues/bad heats, but sadly that wasn’t the case for my mare so I’m discontinuing these now after trying for a couple months with no positive change.
