Horse loves it!

From drinking 0 gal water to 5 Gal
My horse would stand inside all day and not drink a single oz. I added about half scoop to his diet daily and now I can get him to drink a full bucket. I even seen him drink off property too! Will continue and recommend this product!

Peace of mind
I have been feeding electrolytes year round but recently added the addition of the Redmond salt to ensure my boy is getting enough salt and minerals in his diet. The product appears to be of excellent quality and value.

Better way for horses to fulfill their salt needs
I ordered this crushed salt product as my mini horses had to be coaxed to eat salt pellets from SmartPak. They simply seem to object to the taste of the pellets, but are more apt to eat the granulated Redmond Rock. We only recently started using it (a little over a month now). I cannot be certain that it helps with water consumption because they drink from a pond as well as from their buckets and water trough. However, the crushed salt disappears from their feed areas, so I know they are getting the salt they require.

I brought my horses home from the trainer and one of them kept licking his body severely, after a ride, when he was really sweaty. Since starting him on this, he does not try to do this anymore. Super pleased with this product.

Love Redmond Rock Crushed!
I got this to better control my horses salt and mineral consumption as they do not use salt blocks very well. I put it in with their grain and supplements every night. My horses have increased their water consumption which is desired. They look and feel great!

Horses get their daily salt
Haven't necessarily noticed a difference in my horses, but they are on several acres and I don't think they were using their salt blocks. With this they get their daily salt requirement at a good price

I love this stuff!
My gelding is a bad drinker (follows my footsteps) and doesn't like salt licks. So I instantly knew this supplement needed to be added to his smartpaks. Eats it right up no issue and drinks fantastic now!

Inexpensive Essential
My herds diet is mostly pasture, with free choice hay. They receive a small amount of grain with their supplements. I love Redmond’s Himalayan salt because of the naturally occurring trace minerals. It’s affordable and essential (salt) for horses that are fed less than the suggested feeding of grain. In the past I have tried free choice but find top dressing to be most helpful!

Easy to use
I bought this for my mare on the recommendation from my farrier. I added it on to her SmartPak supplements. At first she refused to eat it and was leaving it at the bottom of her feed dish by eating around it. Once I put it in a separate dish from her feed she started eating it and

Great product
My horse is not allowed to have salt blocks anymore because he goes through one in about two days. I put him on this about a year ago and I am so glad I did! He loves the taste and eats it right up.

Did exactly what I wanted
I was concerned about water intake in the winter. Dry hay and not enough water spells colic. Smartpak rep recommended this and my horses are drinking much more water than before. I just sprinkle 1/2 tsp on the night feed and they empty their water buckets. I was concerned about the humidity here in Florida being an issue with the salt, but no problem there either. I will continue to purchase this year round.

Works awesome for cold new England winters!
My mare stopped using her Redmond rock and I noticed a significant decrease in her water intake, living in Maine during the winter, colic is constantly on my mind with 44 degree days and -14 degree nights, I instantly got on to see if this was sold crushed and thank goodness it was! Easy to feed and she is back to drinking her normal intake. Once again, thank you smartpak for being amazing and carrying all the best supplements!

My horses love them!
I bought them so they could get salt & minerals free choice. They lick them alot even though I was giving them the Redmond crushed salt with their feed. I will continue to keep the rocks in their corrals as they know how much they need.

Wonderful product
I have always offered the large 7-11lb Redmond Rock to my horse, which he always enjoyed. However I learned it wasn't enough. We recently moved from CA to SC and he stopped sweating. At the suggestion of my new vet, we added the crushed Redmond Rock salt to his food (along with a sweating supplement). He started sweating in about 10 days. I learned that many people in the area have the issue and use this specific product (in some cases exclusively) and see marked improvement. This ensures your horse is getting enough salt, especially in the summer's brutal heat!
We feed this along with a little grain and his SmartPak and he wasn't crazy about it at first, but then had no problem scarfing it up after a day or two. Much better than the other salt supplements I've tried!

Redmond Love!
I bought this to add to our old boys feed. As he loves his Redmond rock, I don't think he gets enough on his own, by adding this it encourages that little bit extra water intake. Very palatable, adding a 1/2 scoop to all of them now, works great! Excellent price point too.

Redmond salt is a great additive to help hydrate
I used this salt as an additive when I was supplementing my horses with herbal kidney and liver cleanse from silver lininf herbs. I ground it into a fine powder in a coffee grinder and it helped my horses drink more water. I also use this product during really cold weather in their supplement mash so that they drink more water and stay hydrated.

We noticed a big difference
I bought the small package of loose salt for my barn during one of the particularly "New England" weeks of weather in January -- where it was repeatedly below zero then 50 degrees within a matter of hours. My feeling is that encouraging horses to drink is the is the best way to prevent problems during this stuff. Most of the other boarders opted to try it for their horses as well and we noticed that nearly all of the horses drank more when feeding ~1oz AM and PM. Could have been other factors like the weather itself, but we all felt strongly enough to keep feeding it for the rest of the winter. Only one horse had any issue eating it, and he only gets a handful of grain. Mixed with a small bit of beet pulp solved the problem. My only complain is this small bag costs nearly the same as the 50lb bag from the grain store....but worked for our purposes to try it before moving on to bulk.

Jury's Out on the Rock Salt
I bought this under the advisement of a friend. It's very hot here in the summer and my mare sweats a lot. She has access to a block, but I was told that they can't get "enough" salt that way and they need it loose. The first day I top dressed her feed with the recommended scoop. She was not impressed- way too salty. After that I put a scoop in an empty rubber tub in her stall so she can get it when she wants. She rarely touches it. I'm not sure how I feel about it because I really thought she'd lick at it similar to the way she does her block and she's not. All that to say: inconclusive!
